Another outpost of the Whitney, the Friends of Schenectady County Library volunteer-staffed used bookstore, and just as good in terms of selection, organization, and value. It's smallish (see picture) but a huge improvement over not having a bookstore in the mall. My only real quibble is the hours (see photo for hours as of late August, 2023); they make it hard to combine a swing by the bookstore with a trip to the Local or the movies, pretty much the only things that draw us to Viaport these days (although perhaps more on the schedule of the fans of the aquarium). We barely had time to take a gander arriving for a movie matinee when they were closing up! Sales support the excellent county library system and the place is a pleasure to browse, so stop in sometime and find something to take home.

Great used bookstore. Very large and clean. Good quality books. Most books are between $1-5. This bookstore is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of Schenectady Library. Hours are limited.

This bookstore is amazing ! First of all i got Like 7 books most hard cover— popular children - toy story wizard of Oz etc EACH LOOKED BRAND NEW my mouth dropped when the total was 7 dollars ! Hi there for Christmas shopping ! You won’t be disappointed!!!

A Second Look used bookstore is located in Viaport Mall in Rotterdam, NY. It is one of the few used bookstores in the capital region and offers a large variety of very good quality used books. The store is run by volunteers of the Friends of Schenectady Public Library. All proceeds benefit the libraries in Schenectady County. Friendly, helpful staff. Great prices, too! I got a book originally priced at $35.99 for $1.40! I will definitely be back and recommend to friends / family.
