Back in the day, we vowed to keep our parents far from nursing homes – it was practically a family commandment. Fast forward to today, and I’m chuckling as I write a review about their care. Call it “Greek guilt” – our parents have a knack for laying it on thick. Move over, Jewish guilt; Greek guilt takes the trophy. Despite my promises, I’ve discovered the one place they now call home – the irony is as epic as a Greek tragedy!Sprain Brook Manor Rehab has provided and continues to provide an exceptional level of service that exceeded all expectations. From the moment my parents were admitted, the staff exhibited unparalleled care and consideration. Their dedication was evident in every aspect of their work, making the rehabilitation process a positive and reassuring experience. What stood out the most was the staff’s genuine compassion. They treated my parents with the utmost respect and kindness, going above and beyond to ensure their comfort and well-being. It felt like the staff was not just doing a job but genuinely caring for my parents as if they were part of their own family. This personal touch made a significant impact, creating an environment that fostered healing and trust. The facility itself was well-maintained and equipped with modern amenities, contributing to a comfortable and conducive rehabilitation environment. The attention to cleanliness and safety standards reflected the commitment to providing a top-notch experience for residents. The communication between the staff and our family was outstanding. Regular updates were provided on my parents’ progress, and any concerns or questions were promptly addressed. This transparent and open line of communication helped alleviate any anxieties we may have had, fostering a strong sense of partnership in the care process. The expertise of the medical and therapeutic teams was evident in the progress my parents made during their stay. The personalized care plans were tailored to their specific needs, ensuring that every aspect of their health was considered and addressed. In essence, Sprain Brook Manor Rehab goes beyond being a healthcare facility; it becomes an extension of one’s family. The exceptional service, genuine care, and considerate approach make it a standout choice for rehabilitation. I wholeheartedly recommend Sprain Brook Manor Rehab to anyone seeking not just rehabilitation but a place where their loved ones are treated with unparalleled compassion, professionalism, respect and dignity.Sprain Brook Manor Rehab’s staff, including Tina head of admissions, Jennilyn in finance, Joni in client services and a whole lot more ;), Ben the Administrator, Lisa second floor desk supervisor and absolute gem, Angie & Nicole ( earth angels) Melanie, Sheila amazing nurses and PA’s. , Sandra social worker, Dr Nowakiwsky (genius) , and the dedicated kitchen staff, went above and beyond. Their caring and considerate approach made my parents and me feel like we were part of an extended family. Special mention to Red and the tireless rehabilitation staff and therapists who bent in every direction to ensure progress. Every individual showcased exceptional dedication, turning what could be a challenging time into an experience marked by genuine care and positive progress. Grateful for their outstanding service and personalized attention. My deepest gratitude to the owner of Sprain Book for taking the time and patience to find such a wealth of professionals.Thank you.SincerelyHelen

Dear Sprain Manor:The whole staff was so loving and supportive during my Mother's recovery. My Mother Joyce De Haas was there a couple of times recovering from a serious illness. Everyone from the administration, nurses, all the aids, kitchen staff, physical therapists and the receptionist acted professionally, lovingly, and wonderfully.Thank you very much for all your care and comfort.Jackie James

My rehab stay at Sprain Manor was almost three months. My experience with the nurses and therapists with whom I dealt was entirely satisfactory. They were all commendable. However there was one physical therapist, Gilbert Ababa, who stood out. He just knew how to bring me along in stages for the greatest effect. For example, going up and down one or two steps on stairs was, at the start, a real effort. At the end, I was able to go up and down a dozen steps in a stairwell. I was, and Sprain Manor is, lucky to have him

The Sprain Brook manor has been an incredible resource for our family. We brought our grandmother in over a month ago and the transition was seamless. The staff truly cared for her and understood how challenging it was to make such a significant life change. Our grandmother feels safe and well-cared for at The Sprain Brook Manor. We can't express our gratitude enough to the staff for the peace of mind it brings us to hear how she is thriving and connecting with others like never before. If you're looking for a place to bring your loved ones, I would recommend The Sprain Brook Manor.

The good news is that the building exterior is slowly being upgraded. Be careful ... front desk person & and other employees walking around without masks . Active covid cases on second floor per another visitor. When leaving there was no one at front desk & visitor just got on elevator... no covid or temperature check. Dreary old rooms .... depressing to visit.

This place is the worst! My grandfather was brought here and was treated horribly. The nurses don’t care about the patients and claimed my grandfather dealt $10,000 dollars worth of damages and didn’t even tell us what he broke. That means the nurses were not watching him properly. Also he is a frail old man and it’s impossible for him to break that much stuff. They are lying just so they can get more money. I’m sure more horrible things happened while visitors weren’t there. They sent him back to us in a staff members personal car after we said we couldn’t pick him up due to it being late and my aunt being unable to drive. When they sent him back they kept his clothes! When my grandfather came home he behaved very well and didn’t cause $10,000 dollars worth of damage. They’re just lying for money ?♀️.

My father in law was in this community for just about 2 months. He has been suffering from dementia and we were unable to care for him due to constant falls. When he was transferred to this community from the hospital it was nothing but a disaster. The staff was very unprofessional and rude. I received a call from 4 administrators demanding I pick him up, it was 6 pm at night and I was unable to do so. When I said I was unable to and i could do so tomorrow they said absolutely not and that we were lucky they weren’t charging us for the 10,000 dollars worth of damages he causes. This was a first for me and I couldn’t believe how I was being treated. When I asked if any transportation could be arranged they said yes. To my surprise he arrived home at 7:30 by a staff member in his personal car. I really could not recommend this place at all. It was an absolute nightmare and they are a shame to call themselves a senior community

This place absolutely disgust me, I had my grandmother here due to being weak and frail from her fight from leukemia. She had been staying there for over a month and despises it. The faculty has been abundantly rude just for asking for jello because that’s her favorite snack. There are many other situations like how she needed help getting out of her bed but they simply replied with “it’s not that hard”. it’s disappointing how they would treat their patients like this. The place is horrible as well, the smell of trash everywhere was astonishing, I didn’t know how the patients put up with it. This smell belongs in a dumpster not a rehab center.

My grandfather with severe dementia was staying here for maybe around 2 months when my mother received a call from 4 people from management on the line demanding that she pick him up immediately. When asked why they said they were unable to care for him and that we were “lucky” that they weren’t charging us for damages he’s caused. Being that is was 6 pm in the evening my mother was unable to pick him up. When told we could get him tomorrow the staff again demanded that they would not be keeping him. My mother who was unable to drive asked if any transportation could be arranged. To our surprise he arrived home at 7:30 by and employee in their personal care. I’ve worked in the senior living for 4 years and have never seen such inappropriate behavior from administrators. This was unacceptable.

My grandmother was sent here and all I can say is, it was absolutely disgusting in there. From then staffs behavior to the area in general it was not good for my grandmother and was a terrible experience. I am writing this review as a warning to those interested in this place. The workers were disgustingly rude to my family and treated my grandmother with no care or general understanding of her issues. I truly cannot think of one good thing to say. Horrible!

I was so excited to hear that my dad was to be spending his final days at Sprain Brook Manor.. I was happy it was so close, I could come and visit whenever I wanted.. it brought such comfort knowing he was literally 10 minutes from my home. Unfortunately my joy was very short lived .. approximately 1 day. My dad had vascular dementia, he was very challenging to deal with.. he was at your facility one day before you decided you couldn’t handle him, he was sent to hospital with something “wrong” .. He was then not welcome back to your home, what happened to caring and compassion? I didn’t find it at Sprain ..

My stay at Spring Brook Manor was a very positive experience overall. Let’s get the bad right out of the way. The rooms are outdated and in need of a rehab themselves and the maintenance and engineering staff do their best. That’s it that’s the bed.Let’s start with the nursing staff could not expect any more out of these nurses even when they are shorthanded they are always very responsive and ready willing and able to take care of any needs that may arise. The nursing staff was absolutely incredible very caring understanding made me laugh a lot in a situation that nobody wants to be in a nursing home for close to four months. Shout out to John G Joe Elvi Charmaine. Also shout out to all the nursing aids who have a very tough job but we’re always there for the most part when you rang the bell they were very attentive. Now let’s go to the recreation activities StaffShout out to JC Jackie Courtney these people made us feel at home with multiple activities to do I’m various times of the day such as aerobics model making painting movie nights and karaoke nights poker nights bingo. The activities there were numerous and or a great break from laying in bed and watching TV and looking out at the window wondering when you would ever get to go home.No it’s the most important part of this rehab the physical therapy group that is in-house is just exceptional I cannot say enough about this Group of people who come every day to work to deal with people with multiple injuries and disabilities. This exceptional group of people I have the patience of an angel and the dedication to each patients. I do not believe I would be where I am right now without the dedication and the persistence of my physical therapy staff. Shout out to Gilbert who is this the most incredible physical therapist I believe I have ever had in my entire life and I’ve had a few he is incredibly patient he demands more from you each day whether you can or cannot do it he makes you laugh and in general it’s a whole group of physical therapist there are always just in a very good mood and always laughing and smiling under very tough circumstances with patients that have multiple disabilitiesShout out to Gilbert and McCartneyOne last shout out to the kitchen staff for dealing with some of my demands I really appreciate it. One last thing I wanna have a shout out for Richie who also facilitated and getting me salads bigger salads and coaxing the kitchen staff to work with me I appreciate it RichyAlso shout out to Jose in maintenance facilities for doing the best job you canAgain I gave this four stars just because of the outdated rooms but if you’re looking for a place to send a family member this is the place don’t look at the rooms look at the facility look at the people trust me I’m very picky and this place is the place for me if I ever have to go backSo in recap no one wants to go to a nursing home or physical therapy living facility but if you have to go I highly recommend a Sprain Brook matter thank you

During my time at Sprain Brook Manor Rehabilitation, after being referred by another individual woods loved one was there, I just say we could not be happier with our decision. The overall care, cleanliness, the phenomenal staff care, and the attention by medical team, from medical director to Nurse practitioner, is perfect. The rehab team, pushes but are compassionate, lovig and understanding to the need of the patient. One important thing, they are beyond respectful and minindful f out religious beliefs. We thoroughly enjoyed the ability of going outside to get se fresh air during these timew. We couldn't have done this iyout the help of Joni, she is amazing.Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place for their family.
