Simply the Best is a friendly store with great fruit. I love their large blueberries. Sometimes the parking can be a tiny bit difficult, but it’s usually okay.

I've been going here for plants, soils, and garden equipment monthly for the last 10 years and before that on and off since the 1990s. They do have a good selection. Today just ruined it. After paying with a lovely cashier I've known for a while and joking about working tomorrow, Memorial Day, one of the day laborers followed me to my car and accused me of stealing a $3 bag of top soil. It was really disappointing and insulting. I thought over the years I had established a reputation with Simply the Best and I asked him, "You don't trust me?" He didn't speak English very well and just asked for the receipt. He couldn't answer when I asked why he thought I would steal top soil. He didn't apologize when my receipt showed that I was right. I thought to myself, thinking back to when I worked in retail, usually after the POS (point of sale) the customer leaves. A thief will also try to pocket the most expensive item. I had a cubic foot of premium soil ammendment 4x the price of the $3 top soil. Upon seeing me go from the cashier straight to my car, where is the justification for thinking I stole a big bag of top soil? This day laborer had helped other customers load their items into their cars. If I was suspect, why not offer to help me and see if I got nervous and declined the offer? Why not follow me around and ask if I need help? He helped all the women. There are tricks to be used when one is suspicious that a customer is stealing. In an accusation such as this, you risk losing a life long customer so you better be right. It's not something to be taken lightly. In short, this is a neighborhood, small business that relies on the people in the neighborhood for business and the people in the neighborhood enjoy having a neighborhood nursery that's more personal than say, the Home Depot or Lowe's. However, I was the one robbed of that neighborhood small business feeling and I don't feel comfortable going back to Simply the Best. Perhaps that's for the best that I take my money elsewhere. Hopefully Simply the Best will acknowledge this review and make sure they don't lose other loyal customers.

If you have to deliver peat moss there with a semi-truck and you come from the south keep going north until you reach the turn around area (weaver st bypass) and then head south until you reach simply the best. At that point get yourself at a 20* angle turning left into the opposing lane and back up into the parking by jumping the curb.
Ideally arrive at night and unstrap so they can unload you at 6h30am-7am and you will be out of there before rush hour!
Staff is super friendly and have fun!

They have a wide selection of plants and a very helpful staff who made recommendations for me that I wouldn’t ordinarily pick.

This a great option for fresh vegetables and fruits. The gardening plants and supplies are also good but pricie. It is worth the convenience for the locals. Staff are cordial and ready to help.

Simply the Best is simply the best if you want a small, friendly, neighborhood place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables and seasonal decorations. I go mostly because they have the best blueberries ever, and in fact, one of the women who works there texts me when they get the blueberries in stock if they haven't been available for a while. The store is clean and well run, the workers are friendly, and it's rarely crowded. This is a neighborhood gem.

Pat and his partner are very helpful. Matthew is son helped me pick out the ripest melons. Helpful, great quality, whole and cut up vegetables, clean and no tip me buckets.

I went there last week during thanksgiving and it was so packed and busy but the young ladies there are so helpful, one of them was so quick and efficient to help me and checked me out as soon as she could. Will def be returning for some of their cookies and baked goods! Great atmosphere and have a variety of fruits and vegetables.
