This review is about Frank Scalia & Kyung Scalia, agents at the Scarsdale office of Houlihan Lawrence. Frank and his mother, Kyung, coordinated with us to show a home for rent. We saw the home and submitted an offer. After a few days, Frank told me via text that the homeowner selected us to rent their home. His exact words were: "I just spoke with the homeowner and congratulations they are going with your offer." At this point, we turned down the opportunity to rent other homes. He then, for the next four days, provided me with text messages saying he was working on the lease to send over to me. We had even scheduled another viewing of the house to measure for furniture, which Frank facilitated. The evening before that meeting was to occur, I received a call from his mother to let me know that the homeowner decided to go with another tenant who could provide a longer lease. I am moving cross country with my family in 6 weeks. Frank indisputably misled us and continued to delay the lease signing, while they continued to show the home to other tenants. This has caused us countless additional hours and significant additional expense to restart our home search in a competitive market. While both Frank and Kyung tried to argue that this "goes both ways" and as tenants "we could have walked away too" and cause harm to the homeowner, we were literally waiting for the lease to be sent to us. The delay was 100% on Frank & Kyung and it was their responsibility to manage proper communications. If the homeowner wasn't ready to make a decision, they should not have deceived us. If they intended on continuing to show the home, they shouldn't have told us we were selected as the renters. They shouldn't have said they would send the lease and then delay every day. They shouldn't have scheduled an appointment so we could measure. Simply, they are unethical Realtors. Also, we reached out to the head broker at their office, Nancy Chochrek, and she never returned our phone calls.

We got Jennifer Stone Fischman's information from a friend of ours who she helped buy a home a couple of years prior. We are so grateful that she was recommended to us because we could not be happier with our experience. We were looking for a home in a new area that we have not spent really any time in and in addition to showing us a ton of homes, she took the time to show us around the area and really explain to us the different neighborhoods and the perks and disadvantages of all. While viewing houses, she was so helpful in pointing out potential challenges but also helped us with a vision of small things that we could do to make the different houses fit better with our needs. I am happy to say that Jennifer put us in our dream home, in this very tough market! Once we went under contract, Jennifer has been so so helpful in recommending vendors and offering to meet some of them at the house to receive quotes for work we need done when we were not available, and making sure we are comfortable with everything and knowledgeable on the process. Even now, after we've closed last week, when her official duties have finished - she's still helping us by meeting a vendor at the house tomorrow to make sure a minor issues is fixed. We couldn't recommend Jennifer, more!

i cannot say enough good words about Joan Frederick. We went to Scarsdale on the Labor Day. The whole office is closed and she is the only one still working here. Despite the fact that we are just walk-ins, she is able to show me 3 houses in the afternoon. In the following weeks, we were very impressed by her. Always know listings before redfin, being able to get the inside news about contract price, great advice and true knowledge about the area. We were able to buy a dream house within our budget in a month. We are very lucky but would not be able to do this without her. Best part - to echo the prior review, she always answers my phone so quickly like I am her most important client (and yes, I am not buying a multi-million house and she does have a lot of listings under her name.)

Andrea West is THE BEST! She's an amazing real estate agent that genuinely cares about her clients and goes above and beyond! We started looking for our first home in Westchester four months ago. I was very pregnant at the time and a few weeks away from my due date. I mention this bc Andrea went out of her way many times to make sure I was comfortable and stress free. She even picked me up a few times to minimize my driving if my husband was working. She was such a blessing to us during this process. What we loved most about her is how organized, detailed and informative she is. We spent two months looking at places several times per week. She was always well-prepared with detailed printouts of the properties. She immediately addressed any questions and instantly scheduled appointments even if it's super last minute. Thanks to Andrea we finally bought our first home! She has been amazing throughout this process and worked sooooooo hard! We will use her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone!

There is nothing special about this agency what so ever. They talk a big walk but if you do not fit their mold, then the quote experienced brokers could not care less. Yes, everyone is polite and professional but when the going gets tough, they do not get going. What does it take to get a real agent these, like the ones who do real estate for a living and not to occupy time. This place is worth only 4% commission at best. Look around if you want a seller's broker, cause finding a buyer's broker is easy, just about anywhere. Remember, as the sellers of our homes, we may take good advice, but we call the shots and make sure the agents know that. Take your time to interview agents, especially here.

We bought our house through Joan Frederick, whom we found on referral. Joan not only found us our perfect house (we had a looong laundry list of requirements) she helped us find it within a week! Since we are new to the neighborhood, she also gave us an extensive list of all the best, local services for everything from gardeners to diners! And, judging from the multi-million dollar sales/clients she has, I was SHOCKED because she always made us feel like we were her most important client (gave us her cell number, answered our calls on weekends, SuperBowl Sunday, always picked up even when we already called her three times that day, etc.) even though we were NOT buying a multi-million dollar house. If we ever sell our house, we will call Joan!
