Went on a 2 hour kayak birding tour on the Erie Canal and Clyde River, with Montezuma Audubon Wildlife educator Amanda. Pace was leisurely so we could pause to listen and look for birds. Plentiful birds to see including, lots of blue heron and a fledgling eagle. There were turtles and jumping fish. Amanda was very informative and safety conscious. She also worked very hard getting us all in and out of our kayaks. All of the kayaks were wide (harder to tip over), lots of legroom, and have beach chair like inserts that provide more back support as well as being easier on the joints. Great activity!

I have never actually been in the center as it has been closed each time I visit. Last time we were there the feeders were empty and the look-out was roped off with caution tape. However, there are some nice trails beyond the building and all the way around the large pond and through the woods. Some nice bird sightings. There are both shaded trails and open ones and none that I have tried were anything other than flat ground for easy walking.

The Montezuma Audubon Center is an amazing place to study birds, reptiles and other wildlife native to the State of NY. The center is really big with many rooms full of displays and artwork and maps of the region. They host events year round, the most recent event being their annual Earth Day celebration. There are numerous outdoor trails to hike on with posted signs for self guided tours. During events there are guides with lots of knowledge. There are also trails to drive on as well but you must proceed with caution and respect all creatures in their environment. I'm bringing my family back multiple times this year to enjoy each season because nature grows in different stages and each scene is a different experience. You can being your dogs and cats or whatever as long as they are on leash and you clean up after it. I give this place 5* and recommend for anyone any age. Another reason why #iloveny

This is an excellent place to visit while in the Finger Lakes region. Chris was helpful and informative when we entered the Visitor's Center and gave great advice about what birds we would probably see on each of the trails. We had not read anything about it, but just happened upon the center and so glad we did! Great collaborative venture between the state of NY and Audubon.

The National Audubon Society protects birds and places they need, today and tomorrow, throughout the Americas using science, advocacy, education.... AND THEN WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN HOW TO GO OUT THE BACK DOOR AND KILL DUCKS AND PHEASANTS !!! SHAME ON MONTEZUMA, NO FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ME.
