Hands down the best shoe store around. I have shopped here for years for sneakers, hiking boots and sandals. The staff takes time to make sure you get just the right shoe and the right fit.

Best place with that old school shoe store feel the girl that worked with me today found me a different type then I have been wearing for 20 yrs she was very patient and found me the perfect pair after trying 10 or so pairs. I offered to tip her but not allowed. Best place to get any type of foot wear.

Excellent service. Finally have a pair of hiking/walking shoes that fit properly and are pain free. Excellent and friendly service from Rachel. Wish I knew about Montanos before I wasted a fortune online buying wrong sized, ill fitting shoes. Went to a prominent author/hiking/runner podiatrist who sends all his clients to Montanos, because of the pain I was experiencing with a new pair of name brand hiking shoes I purchased online. Never knew how your feet change as you get older. You won me over as a new customer ... and guess what? I checked online prices and saved $49. Thanks Rachel.

I went in this morning with a specific purpose and 4 brand suggestions from friends. Jeffrey took the time and went over the attributes of all of them. I tried on 3 of the brands and walked around the store with each. Had a hard time deciding between 2 brands and finally picked one and walked out of the store with them on. I also bought inserts for existing shoes. Hoping they make my feet feel better walking.Finding at the age of 62, I need to take care of my feet and to stop buying cheap sneakers.Going back in a couple months for some sandals!

Huge selection paired with kind and thoughtful service. The sales associates were so helpful sizing my teen boys and selecting boots for them. A level of service that is now rare and this mom appreciated it!!!!!

Rachel is an amazing sales person. I went into Montano's for the very first time and I had a specific On Running shoe that I wanted. The company stopped making that specific shoe, but after 10 minutes of Rachel's help I was happy to be buying not only one, but two new pairs of On Running shoes. She was super knowledgable about the different perks of each shoe (ex; which one had more support or was waterproof, etc.) and she just made the overall experience very pleasant. Thank you!!Montano's for lifeeeee!

They don't make shoe stores like Montano's anymore. We've been here multiple times in the last year for hiking boots, sandals, and socks, and each time we've received prompt, preemptive service, great recommendations, and help both with sizing and shoe retrieval. They went especially out of the way to help with hiking boots, in which they had my size but not the color that I wanted and arranged to run the color that I wanted over from their warehouse before I ultimately decided to go with the first color. Just excellent service all around. Hats off to every one of their workers with whom I interacted and to Saugerties for keeping this business.
