Pet Stores & Supplies

Benson's Pet Center
3083 NY-50, Saratoga SpringsI absolutely love this store and will not buy pet products anywhere else aside from maybe one thing. We have two dogs and a cat. We got a new puppy last year, a huge handful. He was a biter, a fighter, a chewer, a playful boy and always hungry. Our trainer suggested an item that we could only find at Bensons and from there we were hooked. They have the best toys, high quality, tough options for dogs who are rough on toys. We can't find toys anywhere else that our dogs can safely use. They have so many options for chews and treats, now both dogs can chew away their anxiety when needed and who doesn't love treats? Lately we discovered our dogs have food allergies, severe in many ways. The staff at Bensons have gone above and beyond with their knowledge and expertise to help us find a safe and affordable solution for our fur kids. They've spent a lot of time lately discussing our dogs issues with me and going through all of the options available. If something didnt work, they were there to help. Our dogs are no longer having allergic reactions and are as happy as can be. Also, they always have our cats favorite treats in stock and tons of his favorite toys. Every time we go in the store we're greeted with smiles and someone is always there to help. It's a great store and really beats the big name places. Highly recommended from our family to yours.

Chow Bella Saratoga
50 West Ave, Saratoga SpringsChow Bella's daycare has been nothing short of fantastic for our dog. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and do great with the dogs. They have an awesome indoor space to allow them to run around and play, while maintaining spaces for the dogs to be alone if needed. After doing some comparisons, the price is about on par with other local daycares in the area, as of now. I would recommend Chow Bella to any dog owner looking for a safe and fun environment for their fur balls.

Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga
63 Henning Rd, Saratoga SpringsThe vets and assistants are all amazing here. They are friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they really care about the horses. I wish they treated humans because I would switch myself. The only thing I really dislike is the service agreement where they require a credit card on file and make you pay a deposit for a simple on-farm service call. We've been clients for over 5 years and have never paid a bill late and then they implemented this new policy. The attitude of people enforcing the policy is way over the top. I accidentally typed a credit card number wrong so the deposit was declined and the interaction was very pushy and adversarial like I was some type of deadbeat on the phone with a debt collector. I can't say this left a good impression on me AT ALL. I know the policy isn't the staff member's fault, but frankly, this policy stinks and treats all customers like would be deadbeats that don't pay their bills or something and I'm not very happy with it.

Just Cats Vet
3258 US-9, Saratoga SpringsI'm so happy I switched to Just Cats! Everyone there is lovely, especially Dr. Sikule, Trish, and Emma.
I took my 8 year old cat here after seeing another vet for a minor procedure that had some complications. Dr. Sikule actually read my cat's records ahead of her visit and approached the appointment informed and prepared. I felt like the experience was really collaborative, where we discussed my cat's current status, what may have happened to cause it, and what the best steps forward would be to keep her healthy and feeling well.
Big shoutout to Trish and Emma especially - they were amazing with my cat during her blood draw - I've never seen her so calm during any procedure, she was happy licking a churu the entire time and wasn't bothered in the slightest.
What stood out to me the most during my visit was that each time someone new came in the room they showed a lot of care in letting my cat get used to them before even touching her. They would crouch near the floor if my cat was hiding and let her come to them, or if she was on the table they would hold out their hand to let her sniff them first. Everyone's focus was on her and her comfort first, and they showed genuine affection and gentleness. She got lots of pets and chin scratches - you can really tell that they love cats.
I think my cat left the vet happier and calmer than when we arrived, which is a first in more than 30 years of owning cats. I'm confident in the care my cat is receiving and since our visit she is feeling so much better. I'm so thrilled to have found Just Cats!

Palette Community
480 Broadway, Saratoga SpringsI needed a space where I could focus on getting my work done. On the day I visited The Palette (Saratoga Springs), I was nervous, but those fears soon disappeared. I was greeted warmly by Marcella, the COO. She introduced me to two other visitors and we spent the next two hours just learning about each other. By the end of that meeting, I knew I was going to become a member. The Saratoga Springs location is right in the heart of bustling Broadway. It's the perfect location. There are several shared spaces, a few small rooms, and some larger rooms. You can reserve a room ahead of time in case you need to jump on a Zoom call or have a meeting. There is also a small kitchen area that is stocked with water, tea, snacks, and wine! That's such a nice touch. As a member, you have access to a new printer. The Palette has two locations. I've only been to the one in Saratoga Springs. The other location is in Schenectady. I'm excited that The Palette holds many networking events. It's a great way to meet like minded people. If you need a co-working space, look no further. I highly recommend joining The Palette.

Farmer’s Daughters’ Drive In
882 NY-29, Saratoga SpringsI might be a little biased because I live close by BUT! I would travel across town or from another town to get the Farmers Daughter's Ice Cream. Service is always with a Smile and it's never a long wait even when they're busy!I love soft ice cream and they by far have some of the thickest/most dense soft ice cream you can find in Saratoga Springs. They also have a full menu with many great options such as burgers, hot dogs, salads, there's something for everyone here!! Not to mention in the summer time they have ample outside seating where you can sit and take in the beautiful country side, a small area for kids to play while grownups eat. Also, a cozy interior dining area with booths and tables. They kind of give off small town drive in vibes, great maybe for an after sporting event or first highschool date night eats. Overall I recommend this place to not only to locals but to those passing through on scenic 29. if you're haven't been you absolutely MUST VISIT!! theyre open from st. patricks day in March all the way through Halloween in October!!

Homes for Orphaned Pets Exist (H.O.P.E.)
3065 NY-50 Space D-1 Box 68, Saratoga SpringsWe adopted Suzie (formally Lily) from HOPE. They did vet references and everything. You can tell they truly care about where the animals are going. My only complaint would be you picked a cat and they told us to go take a little walk to make sure he was the one we wanted. We were gone five minutes and someone else was already adopting him. However, I feel like it was meant to be because Suzie fit right into our little family. A few months after we got her, we were given a six week old husky pit mix and now even with a 50 pound weight difference they are best friends and cuddle on the couch together. Their adoption center at the mall was clean. They tried to match the potential adopters to the animal and were super friendly. I love that you have to sign a contract That the cat must be an indoor cat only. If anything ever happened they are always a HOPE cat and will take them back if anything happened (we have no plan to EVER get rid of Suzie. Once a family member, always a family member. I just love the policy.) It just proves their love for the animals in their care.
