My last service visit was truly impressive. The service department has really changed for the better:1) loaner cars2) great reception/waiting area3) video inspections texted to youHowever the most impressive part of the service visit was Service Advisor Joyce Calderone. She is personable, knowledgeable and very attentive even though I had a very small service. I have had a few visits at Competition previously with other advisors that just hand you your invoice and don't explain anything. Competition is very lucky to have Joyce. I am actually looking forward to my next service visit and she has earned your dealership this 5 star review.

My partner bought his battery here in July of this year but then recently had been having battery issues. Eventually had to jump his car which prompted us to come in. We couldn't get an appointment onliny but they were able to accomodate us as walk-ins on a weekend morning. Ultimately had to get the battery replaced (not sure why a battery of 5 months would die so quick) but it was covered under warranty. Service overall was pretty quick and appreciated how they kept us updated from time to time without being overly annoying. The large waiting area had a working coffee machine along with different types of milk in the fridge. There was a TV with a good amount of couches/tables. The wifi was solid and stable. Lots of outlets were available.

I am convinced John O'Donnell is the worst salesman in the country. He had me send my ID, Costco Card, Tax Returns, Social Security number and more. Then he said he couldn't use any of that information, so he asked for my bank statements with my account numbers on them. When I told him no, he stopped messaging me and put my sale on the back burner.

My experience with Salesmen Bob was the worst of my life. I came into purchase a new vehicle and was treated like I was a bum off the street. Bob approached me with a "I'm not good enough to shop here attitude" I had cash in hand to purchase a new vehicle that day unfortunately due to Bobs actions I took my business elsewhere. I would suggest rethinking Bob as one of your salesmen because I am sure this is not the first time you have lost a customer due to his attitude and won't be the last.

John O'Donnell SINGLE HANDEDLY ruined our vacation with his blatant misinformation and lack of proper communication. We have flown to NY one way- the Subaru was our ride back. The ubers have cost us an additional $300 so far. He still refuses to listen to us and comprehend what we are saying... Save yourself the heartache and go elsewhere.

Make a long story short I bought my 23 wrx at competition subaru and the service there is patheticly bad. DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE YOU ARE WASTING $$ 4000.00 $$. They are not there to help you. They are there just to take your money. I should've read some reviews before I went there because there's so many negative comments on here that you'll get eye strain trying to read them all. The place obviously is terrible but my dumb ass didn't think to read any reviews before I went there. It really amazes me how terrible and lazy a ser vice department can be. It's sad because people work hard for their money and they basically tell you to go scratch your ass. Both guys in service are sneaky weasel's not looking to help anyone. What comes around goes around I guess. Lifes a learning experience I never had a problem with a car dealer before. Now that I think about it I was the only person buying a car there both days I was there. First problem was the infotainment works half assed , second problem notchy transmission , Third problem two lights on the dash one of the car on a hill and the other light looks like the car doing a burnout. 1800 miles welcome to Subaru. It's a subaru thing I guess Not one problem with my Tacoma 236k miles. It absolutely never went back to Toyota for anything. Not once. Nissan fixed anything that went wrong with my juke with a smile. Ford I never had a problem with my mustang. I can go on and on but never had a bad experience like subaru. All I asked for was for them to grease the linkage under the car. Probably would've taken 15 minutes. Now I have to get under there ??? Why should I after spending $4k on an exteneed warranty ????? They're just nasty people. I feel bad for the saleswoman she was nice.

-STAR Competition Subaru is the not the place to purchase or service your vehicle. Team Leadership is poor, service is inadequate and the franchise has let go of employees and the new staff is rude. Stay far away from this dealership. Joanne D validated my complaint with Chris Barcelo. Reading reviews Chris Barcelo it proves he has a behavior problem and Chris Barcelo can not take constructive criticism and attacks patrons. Thank you Joanne D. for validating my concern with Chris Barcelo. Very happy to go to another dealership that have customer friendly Service Operational Manager. Joanne D.1 year agoWould not recommend, I always have an issue with the service department. Chris Barcelo is very hard to work with. It always seems like something shady is occurring, he is never honest. You always have to ask multiple questions and you will get the run around before getting an answer.Today, I came in and of course got the run around while getting an inspection. When I questioned Chris, he told me that it's always an issue when ever I come in... I followed this statement by saying I am never coming here again, which Chris responded to my statement saying "that's fine". Unreal.Imagine being able to conduct business like this and still have a job? Unheard of.I feel he is highly unprofessional and Competition leadership has dropped the ball with allowing him to conduct business on their behalf in such way.I will say the Sales Department is great & Lisa is a hard working women. If you buy your car here, never get it serviced her.© Useful 4

My sales person was Rodney Mc cabe. He was very personable, professional and approachable. The purchase of my vehicle went smoothly. The dealership is large and commands respect. I was happy to see my vehicle with a huge ribbon waiting for me. A kool baseball cap in hot pink. Rodney also gave me a bag and my husband even got a baseball cap also. I also dealt with Meredith which was very professional. Also when I called and got the Receptionist on the phone she was very friendly and professional. So yes 5 stars for it all . I gladly gave them my money and will be back in the future.

1st time & last time. SUBURU SERVICE dept is very bad. synthetic oil change raised from 89.99 to 99.99. they blamed inflation. I guess inflation only effects Saint James area. Koeppel Suburu in Queens is still 89.99. lets even forget that for a moment. tires rotation 29.99. So any mathematician would say if you get an oil change and rotate the tires the bill is ....... $129.98.... nope not if your a mathematician at Suburu of Saint James. They decide to offer the package price for $139.95 for oil change and rotate tires. sure its only $10. but do this to 1000 customers and service department gets a nice 10K bonus while screwing their customers. Shame on you. They are headed down the same road as Nissan of Smithtown a decade ago. lead to news reporters and whole team departing because of same practices. Sayville Suburu is where i will be headed now. When you call they try to say oh this is the "Mileage Interval package" which includes checking your battery and checking other blah blah ... crooks!

Very interesting experience with Competition Subaru. I called and spoke with a salesperson. I told her I'm on the Subaru website and I'd like to lease a Subaru Crosstrek based on the numbers. I'm also a repeat customer of Competition Mercedes and I liked how I was treated. My son and I test drove the car. We drove back to the dealership and said we're interested in leasing with the payment posted on the website. The saleswoman comes back with a lease price $100 more?? I said what the hell just happened? I'm willing to put down all taxes and monies to keep the payment low. The sales manager comes over. I explain the lease on Subaru.com is where I want my payment. I'll put taxes and monies down, not a problem. He explains, well the bank residual values and the National chip shortage is creating a whirlwind effect. That was the worst explanation I heard in my lifetime. It even beats Huntington Honda and those guys are sinfully on the dark side. I tell them both: I am leaving and going to Sayville Subaru.*Nancy B, I have purchased multiple Mercedes from your auto group. If you want your customers to buy cars for their children? Look at how these sales clowns are representing your business. I just picked up my new Subaru tonight from your competitor.

The place is gorgeous. The whole staff is excellent. The sales person Greg is the best and Most honest salesman ever taking care of every single concern that I had. Justin and the young man in the delivery bay were unbelievably helpful. I can call anytime and many times and they are always patient and helpful going overboard to help me.
