Our school recently went there on a field trip ... at first they were very nice but than they rushed us out and it was pouring rain outside and they didn't want us to eat in the cafeteria which is made for eating lunch ... we had two classes that came on the same bus so we split it where one class ate at a time . They were rushing us out and giving parents and teachers a nasty attitude about us eating there ... we made sure that we cleaned everything up and the kids were so good ... each of the students paid full price which would normally be able to be there for the whole day and eat as well . The fact that we were rushed and the manager approached very nasty about the whole situation . If they cannot accommodate field trips then they should not offer them or close to the public when field trips are booked . It was not fair to our children to be rushed . For a place that is made strictly for children they were not very friendly especially the manager.... I would never recommend for a school to do a trip there

We visited 2 years ago in August with my then 4 and 6 year olds. I'm off in the summers and we had not been anywhere that week except for the museum. My 6 year old spent a good amount of time playing with manipulatives that sat in stagnant water. 2 days later she was hospitalized for projectile vomiting 103.5 fever and headaches so bad she couldn't get out of her bunk bed.. we had to call an ambulance. She was tested for everything and the only thing they can concluded on was that they could not rule out viral meningitis. She 1,000 percent picked up whatever it was at the disgusting museum. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I started visiting the museum this past summer, I work as a nanny and let me tell you I had such a great experience with the children I take care that I recommend to everyone. Other nannies, parents and grandparents because bringing your kids to the museum is a wonderful educational experience for them. And for me is wonderful to see the kids are getting something more that just playing.

Westchester Children’s Museum is a great asset to the area. My toddler loves it here and always finds something new to play with. We have a membership and go often (probably every other week). We also like that they have programs like story time, music, etc. Parking is easy. Staff are friendly and helpful! It’s always pretty organized and not messy, like some children’s places. Someone is always going around tidying up.

Customer service quality via phone is impacted by inability to talk w/people. A recording refers us back to the website (question unaddressed there) or offers email (waited many days for answers). Please make it easy for gift membership donors to renew gifts. Donor receipts don't show gift recipients' mbr. # that's needed for online renewal. Also, we've seen uneven staffing/programming.

For younger kids. 6 year old loved it. 7 year old was on the fence of being too old.About an hour of time is a good expectation.

Complaint Regarding Unfulfilled Refund at Westchester Children's MuseumI am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a promised refund that was never received. On December 1st, 2023, I visited the Westchester Children's Museum with my son and grandchildren. Upon purchasing entrance tickets for myself, my son, and my grandchildren totaling $54, the individual at the front desk stated that if myself or my son purchased a membership for the museum that day, we would receive a full refund of $54 for the purchased entrance tickets.Enticed by the offer and the potential for future visits, my son decided to purchase a museum membership. We were both assured that the $54 refund for our entrance tickets would be processed immediately. However, after several phone calls and emails to the museum inquiring about the status of the refund, I have received one confirmation that it would be issed, but never did. It has now been almost two weeks since our visit, and the promised refund has not been issued. This lack of communication and follow-through on a clearly stated offer is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. It has cast a negative light on our experience at the museum and eroded our trust in your establishment. Therefore, I am formally requesting the immediate processing of the $54 refund that was promised to us. I expect a prompt resolution to this matter and a clear explanation for the delay in processing the refund.

The children's museum in Rye New York is one of the most amazing places Designed for children. they take incredible inconsideration for children's cognitive and physical needs. the staff here are amazing. The kind. I would like to publicly thank the manager Esther Bartolo and Play Workers Alexander Alonso and Emily Ortiz. They are truly assets to the company.

I probably wouldn't have written a review if I didn't see the other 1- and 2-star reviews. I want to balance them out with our positive experience. We didn't have a discount deal but I would gladly go again and pay full price. My almost-4 year old spent 90 minutes at WCM and probably could've spent more time if we'd packed a lunch! He was a great age to go but there are also some activities that were a bit beyond him, so I could imagine coming for another few years. We went on a weekday in November, so it was very quiet and parking was easy and free. There's a huge banner on the side of a wall telling you where to go - can't miss it. So I think some of the negative points other reviewers experienced have been addressed.I can agree with the sense that there isn't a smooth flow between areas and exhibits - some areas have a few different activities around a theme, while some seem more randomly placed. It was easy for my son to wander around and find things that he was interested in. His favorite was the rollercoaster track, and the wind tubes with silks (scarves) were a close second. If a kid spent 5-10 minutes on each activity you could be there well over an hour.

This is a nice and modern museum for kids right on the Playland boardwalk so there's plenty of others to do and see in close proximity. We came for a book fair so the museum wasn't operating at its full capacity but the space is modern and sleek. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and the exhibits that were available were very engaging. Parking was easy but that may not be the case when Playland Park is open. I will be back soon to have a standard experience.
