Took a class with L and was expecting more direction from the instructor. I could see when we were in/out of the saddle (mostly out) but would've liked more direction on where resistance should be. Felt like we were at pretty low resistance for most of the class, as you kind of have to be to keep up the pace. Compared to spinning classes I've taken in other studios/gyms, I didn't find the class to be all that challenging other than the fact that it was really hot in the studio. The arm portion was harder than the spinning. L seemed nice enough even though there was very little interaction with the class. I enjoyed the music, but didn't get any motivation to push myself. Class was just kind of boring. Front desk staff and the guy that helped set up my bike was very nice.

Friendly staff. Easy parking. Great class with Martha who helped this newbie feel empowered without being embarrassed.

My wife was interested in taking a class. Before she walked in, an instructor was mocking her dress. She was going to a luncheon and was wearing a hat. Big deal. The instructor (Lesley) openly laughed at my wife so badly, people from the class actually came up to my wife. I’m buying her a peloton.

Would have gone... I walked by SoulCycle to inquire about taking classes. I was dressed up and about to go to a luncheon. However, I decided not to walk in after hearing an instructor make fun of my dress and laugh with her clients outside the location. Really rude and will not be interested in taking classes with bullies. It was Leslie ... she had just ended her 945 class. People attending the class actually came to me.

I've taken Soul Cycle courses long enough to differentiate the 'good instructors' from the 'less interesting ones'. I can legitimately say that Mike Press has the greatest class of all Soul Cycle NYC. If you are looking for a course that will challenge your body and mind to surpass your limitations, imposed by your every day fears, pain, etc. this is the class to help you. In many ways, this class helps you overcome your hardships in life, not just in working out. Mike will lead your spirit towards the strongest point of progression, so that you can overcome difficulties you may not necessarily consider possible before. The secret to a good soul cycle instructor is their ability to help you improve, your soul journey. While they may sound cliche, Mike accomplishes this in spades.

Is this how cults are born? The patrons show up in gas guzzling SUV's and occupy every parking spot.

I've been going to this location for two years and have been relatively happy with my experience until I took a recent class with Francesca. As someone who has taken 75+ SoulCycle classes, I thought I had seen it all until I took this class. The music was way too loud-- every single person in the class was either holding his or her ears or wearing ear plugs. When I asked the front desk staff to turn the music down, they said no. The room was 80+ degrees. Francesca did not play one song with lyrics and honestly, the songs she did play sounded like church music with beat drops. The class started late and ended on time so I didn't even get my money's worth. Francesca's choreography was not good and 90% of the class was confused/couldn't keep up. This experience was a disaster. For the past few months, I've felt that all of the good instructors are no longer teaching at the Rye Brook studio and this only confirmed that.
