I posted a previous review with regards to Rost CPA forcing me to file an extension because they didn't have enough staff to take care of my taxes and time. I provided them with all the information that was required with at least a month in advance or more. It seems like they bit off more than they can chew with having too many customers and two little staff. One minute till midnight I received information that they had communicated that I would need to file an extension. The initial communication came within days of April 15th and my concern was that I owed taxes so what would be my penalties and interest and no one was able to calculate that and let me know how we were proceeding. They told me that most likely I would have to have an extension. Not that I definitely would and no further information was communicated even though I try to email and text and call numerous platforms. At the last minute I got a text back from Robert Rost confirming that his company filed an extension on my behalf. He assured me that it would only be a couple weeks that we could then review the taxes and send them out properly. Numerous emails later and texting. Have not heard back from him with regards to when we are setting up that appointment. Still waiting.

I submitted all my documents for a personal tax return. I was then informed after the deadline that my return was filed for extension because the cpas haven’t been able to review it. It was then eventually filed and I paid a 19 dollar late fee.
Later in the year I learned that my 529 contributions have a tax benefit for state return. I asked this company what could be done now, since nobody informed me of this benefit nor asked if I had a 529 account. I was told that at this point it would cost more to amend the return than what I would get in return.
Basically I don’t think it was worth it for me, for a personal tax return. I did not get my maximum return. If it was on me to know about what to claim I might as well do it myself. The return being filed late despite me providing all my documents prior to 4/15…with the late fee passed to me, not something I’ve experienced with other tax prep service. Nobody was rude to me or nasty, just indifferent .
They are probably good for companies or businesses. I wouldn’t recommend for personal tax prep.

Best accounting firm by far. Entire team is knowledgeable, respectful, and most important to me, personable. They’ve been handling not only my personal, but businesses as well for years. Such a seamless transaction through their secure portal where you just sign in and upload all of your documents, and they handle the rest with nothing to worry about. Recommend their services to anyone I come across!
