My experience here was above and phenomenal. From the staff, nurses, and doctors who took above amazing care of me during this traumatic injury, I cant express how much I truly appreciate the experience! Special shout out to Addie (my day time nurse), K. Nicholls (ED), and Karla (ED) were the names i can remember who took great care of me and made me comfortable. As well as a few others i cant remember the names of! And special thanks to Dr. Joseph who preformed my orthopedic surgery with-in 24 hours of me getting to the hospital. Great experience and team of people here!

I had to bring in my 2 month old due to a bad cough he had. He was treated almost immediately, we were out of there within an hour. The only thing I don’t like is that they share the rooms with other patients in the Emergency Dept. I don’t feel two sick patients (especially newborns) need to be sharing rooms.. & there is zero privacy because the others are hearing your conversations with the doctor. What ever happened to HIPPA?…. That’s why I rated them 4 stars.

I would give negative stars if I could. I had surgery at Geneva General and had to go to Strong for a certain operation that Geneva couldn’t provide. They had hospital beds lined up in the hallway with people in them. Not even a room. I doubt that’s legal since it’s a hazard to get around them. The EMTs that brought me in from the transfer had a hard time navigating. That’s only the start. Next, after my procedure I was on one pain meds that did nothing. When I told the nurses this I got put on something different but with the same 1mg dosage. Did nothing. Finally, when the surgeon came to see me was something done and my pleas were heard. I explained that the nurses ignored me, refused to let me speak to anyone that wasn’t a nurse, and did not care about my pain, saying they know best. Meanwhile the surgeon said no, I should be on 3 more meds than my current one because without the other 3 meds the current one I’m on will do nothing and the dosage I’m on wasn’t high enough. I also explained that one of the charge nurses ignored the head nurses order in my chart about me having no male nurses or aides. Charge nurse said “too bad. If you don’t like it then leave” I JUST HAD SURGERY. She was a horrible person. This was on floor 5 btw. I should have left before the procedure and went else where even if it was hours away because I rather suffer a few more days than deal with how I was treated at this horrible hospital. DO NOT GO HERE!! If you are dying don’t go here. They do NOT care. You will be isolated! It’s dirty. They care nothing about your feelings. They are there for money and will ignore your call light unless you ping your light for nearly an hour straight. Theres so much horrible other things I could say but this review is long enough. Please don’t go here!! Geneva General Hospital treated me better. They said they weren’t under staffed but still took over an hour for a doctor to tell a nurse I can have my pain meds. They have ZERO excuses for being so horrible! AGAIN PLEASE DONT GO HERE. I LOST DAYS OF RECOVERY AND HAD UNNECESSARY PAIN BECAUSE THEY CANT DO THEIR JOB. DONT GO HERE!!!!

I went into the EDU here in May 2023. It was and still is the worst hospital i’ve been to. There was 2 staff that were decent. The other staff and nurses just restrained you if you had an issue. I was there for 2 weeks, no phone (which is normal for ED care) Limited internet access. The only thing we got to do was go to 2 one hour groups a day, that’s where we saw each other. There used to be a table, outside our rooms so we could socialize, but they took it away so we just had to sit alone in our rooms all day. Under 24/7 care, locked bathrooms 24/7, No exceptions. No going outside unless you had a parental figure. And that was after they had to pay for daily parking. This place made me worse. I felt lonely and wasn’t treated right. I’ve been to many places and this was only place i’ve got restrained. I felt like they were denying everything I needed. Their ideology is that if you have mental issues, you can’t be listened to or trusted. It’s frustrating. 1 monitored phone call a day with only family. When I was struggling, they restrained me and shot me with a tranquilizer. They held me down with bare hands and straps on the bed. They would search my room whenever they felt like it, or were bored. They took away harmless things. They sent me on long flight with in place ng tube and some ensure. had to ask for prescriptions mandatory medications. I’m not trying to be rude or disrespectful, but just please don’t sent your loved ones there. This is more of a holding facility, not a treatment facility. I hope this place is better now.

I visited this Hospital a week ago and I can say that the care I saw for the patient was first class, everything was very clean. The rooms, the bathrooms and the elevators. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that the family member was in the intensive area, I also don't know about other areas, because I don't know??♀️But the care and attention of the staff is first class. At all times they were willing to answer each of my questions and cooperated with great tact and professionalism. The only thing I was able to observe and it was very strange to me is the security, it is very little and anyone can go up to the rooms without much surveillance. I was visiting the hospital for 4 days straight and only once when I entered the intensive care area counter they told me that only two people could be with the patient. It must also be that where I come from and the hospitals I have been to are those in Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City and some in Pennsylvania, you cannot enter these hospitals without first going through a door where you have to present an ID with a photo and Believe me, it won't happen if you don't have your ID in your hands, don't waste your time going, security in these hospitals is at its maximum. The lack of security at Strong Memorial Hospital really surprised me a lot. Otherwise I was very satisfied.

Family treated in Critical Cardiac Care Dept initially responded well 4 days after admission for a "unconscious collapse" and shocked 9 times on way to Ed. Diuretics dropped potassium low, triggering arrhythmia day #5, resulting in 5 shocks. Pt. had uneventful history of cardiomyopathy and now EF dropped to 15 from 23. Day 7 pt appeared healthy enough for anticipated discharge but expressed blood pressure and diuretic was making him feel off kilter. Shortly thereafter Pt. began hyperventilating four hours, and subsequent panic attacks. Pt. was given Xanax to which there was an adverse affect. Pt. had abdominal pain and lost consciousness. RN left 30 min. after administering Xanax. No medical staff checked on Pt. for 90 minutes at which time he was minutes from death. Hospital's reponse to Pt. left unattended in a Critical Care Unit during critical deterioration in condition was "We will be more communicative among staff in future". This is not the standard of care expected when loved ones are placed in a hospital! Especially the Cardiac Critical Care Unit! Had it not been for family entering the room and observing the gross absence of care, but for grace of God, our outcome would have been the final tragedy instead of "just" a tragedy! Who/what agency, program, board is held accountable for this shabby standard ? We will NEVER know if there could have been a different outcome. To know that, we would have had to have all the opportunities provided to us! Was this help or hell?

Giving this hospital one star was too much! On a visit to see a friend, I was appalled at how disgusting, and filthy this hospital is, especially with the amount of money intake on a daily basis by Strong. The patient had been in the hospital a week, the sheets were dirty and unchanged for over 7 days, the bathroom in the room was filthy and the room was clutter with stuff left in the room, where the patient had no where to put their clothes they needed.and the floor had not been mopped. How can anyone get better in this type of environment?? Hospitals used to be concerned with hygiene, cleanliness, and they were sterile. The cost for hospitalization is horrendous, and to see how patients are treated at Strong hospital is insulting! This is not how healthcare should be.

The ER is useless. I lost vision and my doc called ahead to the ER and I waited SEVEN HOURS before I finally told the floor nurse I was going home to rest because no one was coming to help me. That brought a doc over with a mild lecture about how they can only help so many people. I told her I understand that but you must understand you cannot hold people in distress hour after hour with no testing or info and expect them to hold up. If they are not properly staffed, send us to another ER. She then told me there was no one on site to look at my eyes. Why was I there all day losing vision?? She finally called an Opthalmologist and said he was “very backed up and didn’t know when he could get to the ER.” They made me an appointment at Flaum Eye Institute for 8am the next morning where they rushed me into a procedure to keep the torn lining of my eye from continue to slip. It has been a terrible ordeal. FYI- This ER almost killed my husband years ago by not calling the surgeon on call when he had appendicitis. They left him to suffer all night until his appendix burst and he had dangerous peritonitis. DO BETTER. This is no emergency assistance. Strong may be great for many types of medical care but the ER is horrid.UPDATE after owner response below: Patient Services did not help. Instead, I received a letter saying I "was seen by a doctor" in the ER and received care to resolve the issue. NOT. The only reason a doctor came over to stop me was because I was leaving after suffering 7 hours and knowing there was no one coming. I was hungry, exhausted and stressed. They had the nerve to charge me over $400 for this pleasure because a doctor made me an appointment at Flaum for the following day when there was no one there to examine my eye? I don't think so. This is literally insult to injury and why I am updating this review. I could have made an appointment myself and you don't get to take advantage of me. You left me with no help and I ended up with THREE eye procedures at Flaum over the course of 3 months when the first one should have been done immediately. This really hurt my business, my well-being and finances. Go to Strong for cancer care. Go anywhere else for the ER. It's really unacceptable and I feel scammed.

You see different doctors and nurses every day. Start all over, they don’t read the charts, don’t listen to the families, about medical history of the patient, They don’t even keep the family up to date on the care of a critical family member.
