We were in the ED for two days and were then admitted to the 3300 floor. At first, the ED seemed chaotic but was definitely well ordered. Patients were coming and going but the staff had everything under control. EVERYONE was taken care of. They even brought food and drink for those that asked. Amazing. In 3300, caring and compassionate. Hardly any wait time for help and ALL the staff are friendly and very professional and competent. The techs, nurses, food handlers, cleaning crew, secretaries, PT, OT, my God! Everyone was just wonderful to us. Thank You Unity. Gary Silco

If i could i’d give them 0 stars. I went Thursday for pain that was around my appendix. After being there for 6 hours i was not given any ibuprofen they had told me I was getting until i was leaving. Had an anxiety attack and the doctor yelled at me in my face and told me to put my big girl panties on and grow up. She complained to me how she didn’t want to be there to do her job so I shouldn’t feel how i felt. Instead acted like I should feel sorry she chose the career she did. And how she obviously hates it. Not to mention she wasn’t even my doctor she just happened to walk by when i started having an anxiety attack. I wasn’t even being loud or causing a scene. She was bothered I had asked a nurse to help me. Because I was in pain and no one else was to be found. The nurse who I had seen when I got there put my IV in wrong and it filled up with blood. I told two doctors that my IV stung and was in pain and they told me i had not felt any pain and walked away. Then the nurse that was actually nice and had been the one I went to, to get help had told me my IV was put in wrong and she was surprised no one else had noticed i’d be in pain from it, so she had taken it out. The other doctor I had to take me to my CT scan made me very uncomfortable and he kept calling me baby girl and baby maybe 10 times and kept touching my back and trying to hold my gown for me in the back. Even though I had asked him to stop doing that. I had asked two people working where the bathroom was and they all told me to ask someone else as they just stood their talking together about their social lives and drama. My arm was swollen from it for 3 days. Lastly the doctors gave me false information on my CT they had told me I had cysts on my ovaries. Ended up seeing another doctor outside the hospital who they had faxed my scans to and they told me there was nothing in my CT showing I had that. Months later found out it was just my gallbladder that was the issue and ended up having surgery.

Delivery was quick and doctors are good. Nurses are ignorant as hell. Sleeping spots for the fathers are mad uncomfortable.

I had to go to the ER around 10pm for serve leg pain. When checking in the people that took my information were friendly. but that's where it stopped. There weren't many people in the waiting room, but we still had to wait 4hrs before being called and sent to another waiting room, for which we waited for almost 7hrs, before someone could see me. Meantime while waiting there was one nurse there after being in the hospital for 5hrs I had to go to the bathroom pretty bad, I buzzed for the nurse and told her, she gave me a canister and told me here, that she was too busy to take me to the bathroom. I couldn't stand to do it, because my leg was hurting too much. so I ended up holding it for another hour until I couldn't do any longer and my wife, who had been up for more than 24hrs was starting to feel sick, so I buzzed the nurse again and told her if she could get me a wheel chair and point me to the bathroom, I finally got her to do that, then I told her that my wife isn't in the best health and that she was feeling like she was going to throw-up, because she had been up so long and her reply was, So send her home, I told her I told her to go home, but she refused too. Then basically the response from the nurse was oh well not my problem. finally, almost 11hrs after being there a doctor showed up to check me, the only problem was that he really didn't check me, never looked at my leg, never did any testing, exam or x-rays, all he basically did was bring up my chart and read an x-ray and report that my orthopedic doctor wrote when he took x-rays of my hip a month prior. He gave me a shot telling me in 30 minutes I should begin to feel better and told me to take a pill at bedtime then released me after only seeing me for maybe 5 minutes tops. Releasing me after being there for almost 11hrs and no, the shot did not help the pain it only made the pain worse. If I ever have to go to the ER again, it won't be here.

Brought my husband to the ER due to excruciating pain in leg and was unable to walk. Arrived at 10pm. It is now 6am and he hasn't been seen. When we arrived there were aprox 6 people waiting. I have Never experienced this kind of incompetent medical care. No one came in to check on him or explain the long wait.

The staff was excellent and went above and beyond with the care they provided during our visit in the ICU. It was not the way we anticipated our vacation to go, but the level of care we received made up for everything we missed out on doing. We have never received such quality of care in our home state. Thank you so much!

I love, Love, LOVE, BIG LOVE, Unity Hospital. I have been going to them for years now. From the time we found I'm allergic to nuts when I was in middle school to the births of 2 sons. Every and I do mean EVERY time I get off the phone with them or leave an appointment, I love them that much more. The employees are nothing but caring and helpful. They have always tried to work with me to make sure I get the best experience possible. I can't thank them enough, I would literally not be here if it wasn't for them. Thank you Unity Hospital!

My husband was at Unity Hospital for 15 days. I went in to see him every day. He was very neglected. He was sitting in a chair with his feet dangling every time I saw him. No one even bothered to help him get to the bathroom or move around at all. When he was admitted, he could walk. When we finally got him out of there he couldn't even stand up. We kept hearing from the doctor that he would be out in a day or two for 15 weeks!! When he was first admitted, I was trying to get information and was hung up on several times. I was never able to get through to anyone. The day I found him crying with his blanket on the floor and his legs dangling was the was the last straw!!

I was there last night one of the doctors rub me off when I asked a simple question, they wrote the wrong information and lied about my vital signs. I waited 3 hours before I was seen when some people only been waiting 5 minutes and were seen before me. Then the discharged me with barely doing anything to help me.

great hospital if you like getting kicked out before you're physically ready to go home. great job only caring about profits. you money hungry butchers!now they are kicking out my mother from physical rehab because "she is doing well".she can't use the bathroom on her own! how are you this callous. I hope you understand you're not the good people here. you're horrible

I would rate Unity negative stars if I could. I was told to come right here from urgent care due to possible internal bleeding from an MVA. I was told that it was emergent and the urgent care doctor would call ahead to let them know I'm coming. I've now been here waiting for almost five hours. The staff upfront are also very nasty and when my mother asked where I was "in line" the receptionist stated "well she looks pretty good for a suspected abdominal bleed". This is so harmful to patients because it not only minimizes their complaints but it could absolutely make someone with a serious injury just leave because they feel they shouldn't be there. Unity is the worst hospital in Rochester.

The ER wait time was considerable, especially compared to Strong. **However**, Unity got the important parts right! They spoke with me at length, looked at possible underlying causes, and monitored me to see how I was responding to treatment. They also gave us very detailed instructions for continued at-home care once I was ready to leave. I always felt respected and, as much as is possible in a hospital, like I understood what was going on. Shout-out to Nurse Killian for playing a big role in that experience, but I'm very appreciative to my whole care team.
