Target needs better policies before I'll ever be back

Just like with the Mt. Read Dunkin Donuts (see my review on that), this Target used to be fun to go to. I'd go in, look for what I needed, and cash out satisfied. Now, it's like a stroke of luck if they have what I'm looking for in stock. This location used to sell hockey cards all the time. Now? Their trading card section is overpopulated with those Funko Pop dolls and some other weird tiny collectibles, like whoever is in charge of ordering has an unhealthy obsession with them. Yeesh! Now I check other nearby Targets (Irondequoit, Henrietta, and even on rare occasions, the Webster and Chili Ave. locations) to see if they have the latest hockey cards.
Also, before writing this, I scanned through some of the reviews and saw a number of them about complaints about certain items being locked up. I did have to deal with that myself as I had to get new boxers for myself, but at least I got someone to unlock the cabinet in a quick manner. I also did see a review from about a year ago that said that the writer saw two people load up two shopping carts' worth of stuff and just brazenly walk out of the store with them. It's people like them (the thieves, not the writer) that ruin it for the rest of us. Also worth noting was another review that had pictures of what looked like a massive brawl going on outside that Target at night. I just thank gawd I only go there in the morning and afternoon. Smh...
As for the staff and customer service, I don't really have a problem with them because, as aforementioned, I go in the mornings/afternoons. If I've had a problem with a particular cashier, I usually avoid them the next time I go if I see him/her, if possible, or go self-checkout.
Speaking of self-checkout, it's one of the advantages of the Greece Target over the others I've been to. Unfortunately, now they've switched all the machines to card-only. I liked using them with actual cash because I don't want to rely on my credit card all the time and then the next thing I know, I'm like one of those people you see on TV whining about credit card debt.
Overall, this Target has become pretty meh.

The cashiers are so rude. I try to avoid paying cash just so I can use self checkout. Two items thrown in bag, clearly annoyed about having to cash out customers. Stay home if your miserable, not to mentioned store wasn’t even busy at 7pm on a Saturday so no reason to be so annoyed! If it was a bad day don’t take it out on customers.

THIS TARGET NEEDS A CORPORATE VISIT. The bathrooms were completely unusable absolutely never seen it so disgusting. Clothes everywhere, 10% of them on hangers, pallets blocking literally everything I needed. Backpack wall in seasonal was literally blocked with a pallet of cardboard boxes. It would make sense if it was actual product that goes there. Clear change in management, looks like they gonna need another one. The store looks ransacked and definitely a health hazard. Your workers are clearly overworked, underpaid and poorly trained. Are the rats back yet? You could shit on the floor and it’s so nasty nobody would notice.

Standard older target. Items are locked up which is so annoying. Slow checkout. Better locations but has what you need if you are in the area.

I came to Target on 8/27/24 around 1215 pm. I observed the asset loss protection security guard (short male look Hispanic or foreigner) standing at the door. Not even 5 mins later I went to electronics and observed him following me (can’t steal it anyways because they are locked up) then made my way to workout and lunchbox aisle and he continued to follow me. I’m I spoke loudly letting him know he doesn’t need to follow me, I don’t steal, if he only knew what I do for a living I am definitely more qualified than him, so he needs to find someone else to follow. Asset protection needs to know their shoplifters and the common characteristics of one, because I’m not it!!!

I used to love this target. Now everything is behind huge cases. They block so many products from sight. Plus I mean they just hand you the item anyways. So what? The thief gets a butler to hand them the items to steal? That's literally the only difference. It doesn't do ANYTHING to stop daily theft. Not to mention that if it's a smash and grab, they just smash the case open anyways so it's just an inconvenience to everyday shoppers instead. They have so much glare that it's too hard to see through alot of them. It is inaccessible to disabled people trying to shop now too even more. And I mean really? I'm not shopping for underwear with an associate, I'm sorry. It's just not happening. It's creepy, Invasive, and wrong. It takes forever to shop now too. They're losing more in sales from this stupidity than theft because people just aren't buying stuff. People are fed up with this mess. Enough is enough target. You've lost your mind. I cannot stand when a company goes this overboard. You're driving away spending customers. I personally decided against getting something today because of it. Friends and family don't even bother shopping here anymore because of this. The CEO needs to go. If I was a company I'd pull my products from your shelves. It's also clear why they're doing this and it's not theft. It's trying to save money on staff so they don't have to pay people to keep the store up and keep the shelves tidy, something they were failing at before. This just isn't it. It's not the solution. Every single authority on the subject has said it time and again. This is literally the best advertisement and gift a company could give to Amazon. Because people aren't going to go to you online after you've angered them in store. They're going elsewhere. The data doesn't lie.

Locking stuff up is such a mistake. It sometimes takes employees a long time to respond to the page. It’s not even expensive items. What they “save” on reduced theft will negate itself in lost sales due to inconvenience. They also constantly close self checkout which will drive people in a hurry straight to their competitors.

We’re locking stuff up at target now? I mean come on. I just want to be able to get the things I need without having to hunt someone down every two minutes. It’s honestly getting ridiculous, not to mention this targets going down hill literally within the last few months it’s extremely messy and nothings really stocked. I’m so tired of this honestly, I stopped going to Walmart because of them locking every single item up now target has to join the bandwagon. Get a grip.

I used to love this target, it was clean, well stocked, and well organized. They have recently locked up essentials such as underwear, socks, skincare, toothbrushes, and razors. I will be purchasing these items elsewhere from now on.

i’m not sure who was the manager in charge at the cash registers today but i had the WORST customer service help. i was looking all over for a spongebob themed stuff for my friends birthday tomorrow and finally found a spongebob pajama set. the only thing was i couldn’t find the shorts with the set, only the shirt. the ladies working in the changing area didn’t know where they were either. it was the last one in store and i didn’t mind paying $28 for just the shirt after not being able to find the shorts. i asked if the gift receipt would allow her to be able to return it still because it was just the shirt and the shorts are missing. the manager came over and said they aren’t allowed to sell it to me now because it doesn’t have the shorts with it and that i can try to go to another store but there’s only 1 left all the way out in penfield or victor so i probably still won’t be able to get one anyways then walked away. not sure what power trip that guy on. i had no issue if i wasn’t able to buy the shirt but there is no need to be so rude about it when it shouldn’t have even been on the shelves to begin with.
