If you are on the fence of taking a class with these lovely ladies let me push you off that fence. Take a class ASAP! The women who teach the classes and set them up are all so lovely. My daughter and I had a blast. I am not artistic at all, not even a little bit. I had such a great time putting together the glass pieces and making flowers. Yvonne was so patient with all the questions I had and the help I needed. My daughter took off after seeing how to do it. Her piece came out Beautful. We will be going again. We did the Glass fusion private class. Hoping to make time to go sooner than later and make more awesome items. I can’t stress it more in saying you’ll have a great time and end up with a Beautful piece of art.

What a special place, a wonderful creative space. My son recently took a class and had to take a private lesson right way to get more time in! He loved it, and we will surely be back. Marilynne was very kind and patient, she set us at ease right away, a gifted teacher. Thank you so much Studio34

Potential students beware. It seems to be all about the money!I registered and paid for a stained-glass class at Studio 34 through the Rochester Brainery for $295. The class was supposed to have been taught by a world-renowned glass artist, and the class description read that it included all the glass and all materials except for protective eyewear. On the first day of class, the instructor, who was not the professional glass artist listed in the course description, had us look through bins of glass scraps after we'd decided on a pre-approved design. While I found some pieces I could use, I could not find green or blue glass that matched and/or were large enough for the design. The instructor looked too, couldn't find any, then brought out some sheets of glass for me to choose from. At no point was there a mention of having to pay more for the glass. When I showed up the following week, I was told that I had to pay for the green and blue glass I'd picked out the week before. I objected, and the instructor said I had to call the owner, who said that the bins had copious amounts of glass for the projects. They did not. They were inadequately stocked. I was not the only one having difficulty finding glass. Every student had trouble. The owner said that my options were to pay for the glass or take a refund for the class.I will not be forced into paying for glass that was supposed to be included in the class cost so I took the refund. If there was an additional cost to the glass, that should have been said upfront when the sheets were brought out by the instructor. And it turns out that this class does not even provide the finishing piece so we couldn't actually hang our stained-glass projects. We could only leanthem against a window. The finishing piece is part of another class and this was not mentioned in the course description. Another class and more money to finish one piece. When a course description says we're going to be instructed by a glass master, I expect that it will be unless I'm notified in advance that it's not the case and offered a chance to opt-out at that time. When a course description says the class includes the materials, I expect to be able to find glass that I can use to create an integrated piece, rather than random scraps that result in a mismatched mess. The only other option offered was to open my wallet and pay more.

I took a beginners' marble making class here with my husband. It was such a cool experience, and the most unique date I've ever been on. I highly recommend trying it. It is an amazing feeling to melt down glass and form it.

Took a marble making class at the studio. The setup was really nice. The instructor was an RIT student majoring in glass work. She was very good at demonstrating and explaining the process. The whole thing was fun, interesting, and informative. I can't recommend this place enough.

My mother bought us a class though Rochester Brainery for Studio 34. We had a fantastic time learning how to cut glass, choose, place, and glue the glass onto our piece which will then be fused in the kiln.
M&M our teachers were lovely, helpful and encouraging as we learned the basics to glass art. I'm excited to see the finished product and find more classes to attend in the future.
Side note: if you purchase a class (any class) through Rochester Brainery they will provide free ASL Interpreting if you contact them in advance.

I have known Marilynne for over ten years and have seen nothing more than the upmost professionalism and respect for her students and instructors.
I have taken many classes from beginning to master from local instructors and instructors from all over the world! I have met so many artists and still keep in touch and trade techniques and secrets.
Studio 34 is a great place to go to wet your whistle and try something new. The two hour classes are great for this! You always go home with something you created with the instructors help. (Never perfect, sometimes funny!) If you want to learn more, there is plenty of classes to get you to the next level!
I feel bad for this couple that they thought they could make wedding bands in a two hour beginning metal smithing class. I know Studio 34 specializes in classes for wedding bands. These classes are anywhere from six to ten hours long, split into two to three classes. I have seen some really creative, one of a kind bands.
I have learned that beginning class is just that. Begin to learn something new!!
