I went to bring my clothes to Plato’s closet to sell. They had me wait around for 2 HOURS to tell me they couldn’t take any of my clothes due to seasonality. Complete waste of my time and will not be going back.

Great place to buy clothes when you're on a budget. But don't bring your clothes here to sell because they give you pennies for them.

I brought in 3 tote bags worth of clothes, and they took not a single one. Half of the clothes still had tags on them, new, and were in great condition. I took the clothes out of the bag home and they hadn't even been unfolded. While I was waiting the two hours for my clothes to be done, I looked around the store and didn't find a single piece of clothing that appealed to me. So many of the clothes are out of date, or shein. I also saw the exact style of boots I tried to sell to them today (never worn, with the tags) that they claimed were "too-dated."

Like the store just not the people that are normally working. They don't greet you when you walk in or when you leave. When you try and ask something it's like your bothering them. Literally everytime I've been in there the experience has always been the same with the customer service.

Horrible as usual. It’s not worth the travel, wait or the pricing. Just sell your items on Poshmark ❤️

Huge money saver for this single dad! I'm new to the Closet (as my kids say it).I'm loving this. I literally just bought 2 pairs of Jean's, 4 shirts, and a pair of shoes... all name brand high end things.... ready? 47 bucks!! It's awesome. I even went back and got 25 dollars in credit trading in my kids clothes they outgrew. It's really a gem and I hope they keep up what they're doing. !!

If you are person looking to stretch your dollar while still getting quality stuff, then this is the place for you. My family loves shopping here. The staff have always been attentive and kind. The displays are great and well thought out. The inventory is also great! We always walk out a a bunch of stuff at a fraction of the price.

By far the worst Plato’s Closet I’ve been to, possibly even worse store I’ve been to. The store itself is quite messy, there’s always clothes on the floor, which can be excused, but the sheer amount of clothing they pile onto the clothing racks makes it near impossible to shop the inventory. Every time I have visited, I have to wrestle with the clothing to get it off the racks (clothing tangled on each other because of how packed the racks are). All the employees are always working behind the counter, you’d think the manager could delegate to one of the associates to do some housekeeping around the store every once in awhile… The pricing is quite confusing as well. I know there is a set list of how the prices are set, but today when I was there, there were two tank tops that I really liked that were the exact same tank tops, but for some reason have different prices? One was six dollars and the other was ten dollars, even though there was no difference between the two tank tops. However, my biggest issue is the customer service (or lack thereof). The employees are shockingly unresponsive. Every single time I have visited this location, they ignore me, give me dirty looks and make me feel uncomfortable. I stood in an empty line, making eye contact with multiple workers for a few minutes until one of them finally decided to stop their tasking and actually cash me out. Through their actions, it’s clear I am not a welcomed customer even though I try to be kind and patient every time I have shopped in the store. With that being said, there is one associate who is pretty chill (has brown curly hair, didn’t catch their name - but there are usually nice to me and is the only one who bothers to spell my name right on the fitting room door lol). I doubt this review will change their work ethic, but this is a word of warning to anyone who wants to go here - Don’t - (especially if your trans).

My fiancé dropped off a huge bag of clothes, some with the tag still on them. We didn’t have time to wait around so the employee said she would call us the next morning. It took them FOUR DAYS and by the time they called her back, the store was only open two more hours. They stated that if she didn’t come pick them up by the time they closed that night, all her clothes would be donated and no money given. She ended up rushing over after working a 12 hour nursing shift to find that they only accepted 2 items for 4 bucks. Most ridiculous customer service ever. I understand if they can’t accept the clothes but they took their sweet time and did not give us any in return. And it was disgusting in there.

If you are of African American descent do not go in here to sell you items. They have a sheet as to how and what they are supposed to price things however they pick and choose on when they actually use it. I brought in a bag of items that were barely ever used items, Nike, Adirondack uggs (worn 2 twice), brand new chuck taylors, house of cb (British luxury brand) and many other things and they were looked over and I was only given $5.40 for whatever they did take. I have no idea what they did take because I wasn’t even given a receipt but skipping over items of that nature in itself is “interesting” to me in the first place. I called another friend and they had the same experience and took their items to another Plato’s closet and were given the correct amount of money for their items. I called another Plato’s closet and they told me themselves they have a price list and how they do things and my items would have definitely been taken there. When I called this location to speak about this I spoke with Denise and she stated that it could be because the items were “used”, or “demand” and all the things someone says as to why it could have happen. (My items were brand new it genuinely would have been a steal for anyone who walked in and purchased them from here) I express to Denise that I took the items to a church after so it’s genuinely not about the money it’s about principle, if you have a set way on how you are supposed to be doing things, don’t pick and choose on which customer gets to experience how you are actually supposed to be doing and pricing things. Regardless when I went in there it was already a weird vibe and even when I came back it was almost like they KNEW they did something weird. So as I said before if you are AA decent just stay away from this location and don’t even waste your time. Is this going to change who and how they operate most likely not, but what my review can do is save you the ridiculousness before even subjecting yourself.

On this trip I brought in a lot to sell and few of my items were chosen and I was a bit disappointed. I also understand that The economy is changing and people don't have as much money to buy clothes so they might not need as much inventory unless it's top in style guaranteed to sell stuff. I will continue to go there because it's always changing as is my budget.

I love that place! The people who work there are friendly. The customer service is phenomenal and the clothing choices are excellent. The store is also kept very clean and presentable. The Times that I've gone to shop I am treated with respect and dignity.
