Jackie, the proprietor of her Sewing and Fabric Center, exhibits an impressive depth of expertise in various sewing machines and sergers. Demonstrating a commendable commitment to customer service, Jackie consistently makes time for personalized consultations, thoroughly discussing the merits and considerations of each machine to aid in informed decision-making. My wife and I have been loyal customers for over 20 years, having purchased our initial sewing and serger machines from this establishment. Our recent return for machine refurbishment and exploration of a new serger only reaffirmed our belief in Jackie's unparalleled proficiency in the field. For anyone uncertain about their sewing machine choices, I highly recommend a visit to Jackie's Sewing Center for expert guidance and wide variety of machines to choose from.

I agree with the women who was treated poorly. I've been in there 2 times. Gotta give everyone a second chance. Was interested in machines...Jackie herself acted as if she could not be bothered. Questions were met with exasperated replies. The other time staff that were working had very similar attitude. You were wasting their time. No warmth there at all. Never did or will even try to go back. It's a shame considering there are not many janome dealers around.

I typically do not write Google reviews, but after much thought about my experience at Jackie Lynn's (by Jackie, the owner herself), I felt compelled to share my experience of November 10th, 2023.I made an appointment with a staff member who runs the long arm room for Friday - she asked that I come fifteen minutes early before the store opens so that she could load my quilt on the machine and I would be on my way (since this is like number 20 quilt I have done at the store.) I asked if she was sure because she mentioned that she had to train someone that day. She said yes, yes, no worries. When I arrived at the store, I noticed that the lights were on and the parking lot was full. I collected my things, thinking they might have opened early; being a holiday - a sales associate unlocked the door and flipped the sign. Jackie, the owner, was sitting at the front counter scrolling through her phone (my observation.) She looked at me and said you know we don't open until 11? Mind you, I did not knock on the door or ask them to let me in early. I said yes, I know - " The Long Arm associate asked me to come 15 minutes early so she could get me started before opening. Jackie then looked at a desk calendar on the desk and said it was not on the calendar; is this personal - no, I am a paying customer who made an appointment. Well, Long Arm associates know that we have a group from Genesseo here today; we are short-handed; she has to train someone today, and she knows better. She then walked away to her office and wandered throughout the store.I stood there dumbfounded that she had spoken to a customer this way. The sales associate who had opened the door offered me a seat, but I was so uncomfortable that I stood and waited for the Long Arm associate. I felt so unwelcome that I chose to cancel my appointment, cancel the two additional appointments I had made, and tell them that I would never spend another dime in their store. The Long Arm Associate followed me to my car and apologized for how I was treated, but I told her this was not the first time that Jackie made me feel like I was not welcome in her store. This apology should come from the owner. I called about two hours later and spoke directly to Jackie. She never apologized to me about how she acted or treated me—indicating that this was my perception, referring to me as "sweetie."I spend a lot of money on my quilting hobby, and I was and am saving to purchase a long-arm machine - from this store, but not anymore. If I could give negative stars, I would.

UPDATE: 05/04/22 - I have been shopping at this store for years and have almost always had a pleasant experience. I've purchased a incredible amount of merchandise and machines during the pandemic in particular. I was in several times a week. I was happy to invest in a local woman owned business.Yesterday was quite different. Some of the staff (one associate has been there for awhile and two associates I haven't seen before) chose to watch my every step, gaze and touch. They are usually attentive but not in a undesirable way. I picked up fabric that I specifically came in for (had called about) and then I headed to the patterns. I have lost weight and I just like to scour patterns for older patterns. It's a fun past time. I went to the fabric counter with 2 patterns (my fabric is already there). TWO associates stated they were a dollar each. I thought great. I'll go get more for that price. I went to look at several more patterns and came back to the fabric counter with my 9 patterns or so. The associate that I've seen before pounces over to the table from the side to speak rather loudly and rudely that the prices are as marked. Pointing at the cabinets and walking to and fro behind the counter. At this point I'm heated but, I don't say a word. I take the patterns back to the drawer because they are priced at $25-35 and were just impulse buys anyways. I could have pressed but I had just gotten in from a red eye and running errands that day and didn't have the bandwidth to be confrontational. If I didn't need the fabric that I couldn't find anywhere else and making something for someone I love I would have popped out the store and left the fabric right there.Jackie Lynn herself is a pleasure. I've never had any problems with her. This particular person on staff has always been kind of rude in the past but I don't normally see her so it's never been really an issue. Yesterday was different. She was offensive, rude and I felt embarrassed as if I was doing something wrong or trying to pull a fast one. The store itself was busy. I know not everything is race based but I can't help but wonder if that is what this is about. Even if it's not I did not feel welcomed and why would/should I spend my money where I'm not wanted or subjected to rudeness. In this day and age money speaks volumes. If you don't like the look of me, then you don't like the look of my money. I won't be back.7 years ago. - 5 stars. Awesome customer service. Extremely helpful personnel. They won me over at the door. Very attentive and great pricing.

I love Jackie Lynn's!!! I have bought several Brother sewing and embroidery machines from her. Her prices are very good, her customer service is great and her classes are really good (teachers are excellent). I don't live in Rochester anymore but still go back there to buy any new equipment I might be interested in. I have referred several friends and everyone has also had a very positive experience too. It is so helpful to be able to do business with a place you can always count on to be honest, fair and gives great customer service. I highly recommend Jackie Lynn's Fabric Center.

I love to go to this store. They are always so helpful , but when we need to look around they don't disturb their customers. I can look at things for hours. sometimes creative ideas come up when you see a fabric.

I can not say enough about this place. I called to see if they had New Years material they did. I live almost 2 hours away so they texted me pictures of what they had before I made the drive. When I arrived. I was greeted by the friendliest faces and all were very helpful. Will go back again
