Be very careful. This is a couple notches below most Hyatt Regency hotels. There are no glasses in the room, only plastic cups. The soap bars are tiny and very low quality. The rooms are spartan, with no artwork and nothing that welcomes the guest.Call room service and no one answers the phone. One is asked to leave a message. We went down to the front desk to inquire whether room service really existed. They directed us to the bar, where our room service order was reluctantly taken. The one bright spot was that the food brought to our room was excellent. And the food came quickly too, delivered by a cheerful young gentleman. For the most part, staff was friendly and well-intentioned. But downtown Rochester is badly in need of a hotel with strong guest services and sparking amenities. Most Hyatt Regencies provide this. Not this one, at least not this time.

My experience at this hotel was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, we discovered someone already occupying our room. The replacement room, on a lower floor, was a downgrade. The breakfast place attempted to overcharge us, adding to the frustration. Additionally, the new room had a pervasive smell of mold and mildew, making our stay unpleasant. We were promised $50 off each night for all these inconveniences, and safety issues, but upon check out acted like they didn't know what we were talking about. And never remedied the situation. Overall, a highly unsatisfactory experience.

Hyatt Regency Rochester is a hotel located in downtown Rochester. With the location there seemed to be many passersby that hang out in the lobby. The room looks nice on the surface but looks like a recent renovation wore out quickly. We had a sleepless night as the air conditioning unit made a loud rattle throughout the night and since the hotel was fully booked we couldn't change rooms. The room was not as clean as I'd hoped and in need of repairs with a crack in the shower and water damage.Hotel staff were friendly but helpless to solve of our issues as they seemed understaffed.Safety: Too many loud people hangout in the lobby that don't seem like hotel guests, making it a little uncomfortable for families.

I have stayed at this hotel 5-6 times in the past 2 years and this past visit (Dec 2023) I had the most interruptive sleep experience due to the constant clicking and rattling of the heating vents. I changed rooms after night 1 (they didn't have ear plugs to provide me and did not seem to care about trying to accommodate) and after moving up 2 floors on night 2, I experienced the same loud clanking and banging noise. I have travelled with my husband for work over the past 6 years staying in hotels across the northeast and have never had this issue. I do not consider myself a light sleeper, but I struggled to sleep over my 3 night stay here because of the constant clanking of the heating system. Every 5-10 min it starts clanking/rattling banging, and then abruptly stops to then just starts up again. I suggest you bring earplugs, AirPods, something to block out the noise - the tv isn't enough to drown out the noise and be respectful to other guests. Very disappointing. If this wasn't a company trip I would have cancelled the remainder of my stay and went elsewhere. Again - I've stayed here plenty of times in recent years and this is just disappointing. I probably would have gotten better sleep next to the elevator. No microwaves either unless you request which has been an annoyance for me over the past couple years. When people travel for work - they should be able to heat up their leftover food. Hyatt - you can do better.

TLDR; no vent in bathroom, gets hot and steamy.Rooms can feel darkPaid parking garage 12$ a dayWalking distance to arena 10 minutesFirst thing is first, you have to pay for any food they offer in the hotel. Most the time I do try to get the free breakfast spots but this is not one of them. That's fine to me I can live with it.The beds are firm. The pillows are small square and thin. The ac and heat in the room is a 10 x 10 square in the corner of the room. There is no vent in the bathroom so it will get hot and steamy very quickly. Parking was 12$ a day in their parking garage. There is a bar that sells food for dinner in the lobby. Located 10minutes walk from the arena for those that book this place for a concert of other event.Rooms: Nice but I imagine hot in the summer with the small vent for air.Nearby activities: Lot of little things to look at for a short stay. Very close to the arena for what I imagine is the main reason people would book here.Walkability: 10 minute walk to the arena. 2 crosswalks crossed.

Third year staying here for a conference and it's never disappoints. Bernard and Chandra at the front was so welcoming, fun and helpful! Plus there's lots of good spaces around the hotel to sit/work and connect.

I am a loyal customer of the Hyatt chain and a Globalist member, and I have always associated Hyatt with impeccable service and accommodations. Unfortunately, my experience this time has been far from satisfactory. Upon arriving late at hotel, my girlfriend and I were directed to our room, which we found to be inadequately cleaned. Notably, there were hairs on the bathroom walls and the room's curtain was broken, which made it impossible to close completely. When we reported the situation to the front desk, we were informed that there were no other rooms available and that the nearby hotels were fully booked. Although we were offered the option to move to a distant hotel, considering it was already 1:30 a.m., we decided against it. Being a Globalist member, I expected the hotel to prioritize addressing this issue. Instead, when I sought to contact a manager to discuss the situation, I was informed that they were too busy and that I would need to seek them out the next day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., despite my own hectic schedule. This lack of proactive communication from the hotel's end is deeply disappointing. While I understand that sometimes unforeseen issues may arise, what is more concerning is the manner in which the situation was handled. My partner and I endured a sleepless night in an uncomfortable room, which was further exacerbated by my existing anxiety and stringent requirements for my living environment. Upon returning to the hotel after a long day of work, we found that the front desk manager was unaware of our predicament. The manager promised me 10k points as compensation within 3 days,Its been more than 10 days from the date when the manager promised me about the compensation. They are now ghosting my email and messages. I don't have time to waste anymore.

I stayed at the hotel due to traveling a long distance. The hotel staff were nice enough, but I had multiple issues with the accommodations. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work, the tv worked on and off ( which they said happens all day long ). There weren't many towels and I had to call multiple times yet still waited an hour for them. The coffee in the room was all decaf and the coffee in the restaurant is not very good. The free coffee in the lobby is much better. The restaurant was good and the bartender was great. I wouldn't stay at that hotel again though.

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I recently loss my son a couple of weeks prior to my daughter’s Sweet 16th birthday. Due to our recent loss, we had to cancel our planned vacation away. I wanted to do something special for my daughter during a “stay”-cation, so I decided to get a nice, River view room just for a change of scenery and make her feel special. We both left in tears at how horrible the experience was. Had I not paid someone a lot of money to come in and beautifully decorate the room, I would have left.Rooms: We did not get the River view I paid for.

A brand such as Hyatt speaks of quality and excellence; well maybe to a certain demographic of individual. From the time of arrival, my family and I where greeted with pathetic service. Our bags had to be ferried to our rooms on our own, when seconds after us, two "Bell Boys" hurried along flight crew. The cleanliness of the overall Hotel is substandard and when entering the room, it was rather displeasing to see that the room was not in a good condition. If you wish to try the breakfast, please don't. The staff are too busy on their phones and drinking Starbucks Coffee, rather than serving guest. Tisk Tisk, Hyatt! The cherry on top was racial profiling, when I was confronted by staff for "walking out" without paying. To that point, the goods I had in my hands, was not even present in the "Market"... Tisk Tisk,,, Hyatt! If you want to experience a quality stay with staff that actual knwo what hospitality is, I suggest the Hilton next door! The Hilton Brand knows what it means to host guests!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise in their modern decor and globalist treatment. I was a huge fan of the redesign with hardwood floors and a nice comfortable couch where you could look out the window with the view. As a globalist, we booked with points, and we had a lovely complimentary breakfast as well as free parking. Due to the low occupancy the breakfast was a la carte, and when I mentioned we were in a bit of a hurry for our second morning they offered to bring us room service at no extra charge! The front desk was always helpful and professional and we were very happy with our stay overall.Nearby activities: If you're traveling with children be sure to check out the strong Museum of play just 10 minute walk away!

This property has gone downhill since pre-covid. They resigned the entire lobby and restaurant areas and the rooms. They are beautiful, but already showing age. Peeling wallpaper in our room (no tub, BTW). Lack of lighting makes it dark even with the curtains and blinds (neither would open all the way) "open" . We could see an outdoor seating area, but couldn't access it because it's for special events only. The floor in our room was sticky throughout. Parking in the garage was a hassle because the qr code to scan only worked sometimes. The main elevators were operational and fast. I will consider other options on our next stay in the area.

Excellent staff at this hotel! They answered questions, helped with luggage, and were polite and friendly even at 2AM. The room was mostly okay. The automatic curtain controls didn't work, but we could open and close them manually. There was no seat in the shower as I expected; when I asked for one, I was given a portable stool that was really too low to be useful. (I didn't mention this to the manager, and I managed alright in the walk-in shower. It had an extra handheld wand, which was really helpful!) It was neat and clean, and the thermostat worked well. There were delicious smells and great sounding music coming from the restaurant and bar areas in the evening! The Starbucks downstairs was terrific. Everything was a very short Uber away. Make sure to ask about parking validation for your car!

They've done a 'refresh' but it's only cosmetic and the bathroom needs serious attention (stains where floor meets wall, deteriorating grout, cracked shower floor that had some weird "bandaid-like" strip covering it). Didn't seem to have enough wait staff but we weren't in a big hurry. Perfect location for the Jazz Fest.
