Incredibly disappointing experience with hertz. I was given 2 faulty vehicles. The first vehicle had no AC and the second was misfiring causing the vehicle to shut off while idling. This ruined our vacation as we spent all day in Canada trying to find an international hertz so we could exchange vehicles. Once I returned the manager told me he was unable to refund the full amount because I prepaid my booking. I called customer service and they offered a little more money back but I still had to pay for more than half the cost even though I was without a proper vehicle for most of the trip. We missed out on events and plans because of this and it overall ruined our vacation. I advise you go elsewhere to rent a vehicle.

Barry Lingle and his staff at the East Ridge location are the BEST! He prevented what could have been an absolute disaster turning it into one of the most pleasurable rental experiences i have EVER had!
I booked my car 9 months ago at Elmgrove location which closed down a couple of months ago (Hertz - google still says its open - maybe update google?) - i called the nearest branch in panic , the Irandequoit branch on East Ridge and a calm and professional Mr Lingle told us to come on over and he would help us out....
Boy did he! His staff were friendly and courteous , Barry himself was excellent, his customer service skills, quick , concise and knowledgable and we picked up our Subaru and headed off on a wonderful vacation!
Truly went above and beyond - if i could give more than 5 stars i would!

Pick-up was super easy and the person helping me was extremely friendly, but I forgot to ask about returning the vehicle after hours. Subsequently, I had trouble figuring out how to return my rental and ended up doing it completely wrong. When I called the next day, they helped me figure it out and did not turn this experience into an extremely negative memory. Thank you!

When another rental company thoroughly messed me up (starts with an E), I got a rental from Hertz. They were very friendly professionals who made it easy to get the car I needed until mine (broken into and stolen) was repaired and drivable again.

It was so easy to rent this vehicle. I rented it out 2 days in advance through AAA. I had a morning pickup for an economy car and needed to get to work. Manager got me in and out quick. He also said I got the "manager's special" too, so I got to drive a 2023 camaro at an economy rate like letss gooo. Brakes went out on MY car but had me feeling like I won the lottery with this one ? then I was running late for drop off because of crazy christmas gas station lines and so I called them (picked up the phone fast) they said not to worry because they would be closing soon anyway and didnt want me to be rushing or have to charge me extra for gas fill up. Very pleased with this experience and the customer service.

Don't dare go through EZ PASS PLATEPASS without your own EZ Pass. $9.99 convenience Fee plus the toll. And they won't hit you 1 time with all the tolls. Every Week you're credit card will be charged with a toll and fee. Horrible Robbery. Up to around $100 in convenience fees. They didn't even discuss EZ Pass when I rented the car. I guess it's their way to make up for losses. Stick it to you.

Truly terrible experience with Hertz. Came here after the other location at the Amtrak literally didn’t exist(although it is on their website and google maps), thought we had things sorted out, and then Hertz charged us an extra $600 fee even though their employees told us IN PERSON that everything was fine and that the fee mentioned wouldn’t be more than $70~.

Had to wait 3 hrs for a car. made reservation 6 mo ago. Did not have the car I reserved, tried to give me an upgrade for more $$. There was 30-40 people waiting 2-3 hrs for a car (Las Vegas). Reps told us since Hertz has new owner, staff cuts etc have made this LONG wait common. I WILL NOT USE HERTZ AGAIN><<<<

Wasn't crowded when we rented the car thankfully, because when I came to return there were 2 people in front of me, and I was waiting for nearly 35 minutes. Overall the staff seems slow and negligent. Unsatisfied definitely gonna be going somewhere else

I love Hertz and have never had an issue but DO NOT go to this East ridge location. First I waited an hour to be served as there was only 1 representative doing all the computer work and he was also the one bringing you the car. He was nice and explained I would be charged this as my insurance company pays 80%. Ok fine I paid the balance, the 20% for how ever many days. Seems he MAY have never charged or HELD the money from my card but never explained that to me and never called me back to explain what happened as he said he would to explain the charges. Looked at my account and instead of a refund because I didn’t have the vehicle as long as they billed it for I see an amount where they have billed me instead of refunding. ODD I just want an explanation as to what happened and now no one will answer my call and the representative STILL has not called me back to explain what happened. I had to call my bank to find out he never charged my card originally so he had the charges taken out when, I guess, he realized he never held the funds originally. BUT why not call me back and why not answer my calls. Weird!! So just location is iffy and awful customer service!! And you been holding to my card # all this time smh…. Just awful and still won’t answer my calls!!!!
