June 2022 by Stacey L
I donated one (never worn) business style silk suit, 2 linen sheath dresses, and 3 business style button down shirts - all clean, conservative, and in great condition. The woman accepting the donation looked at me dubiously and asked in a sort of critical voice "Is that it?" as if there is something wrong with donating only 6 items. I don't expect overwhelming gratitude, but I did go out of my way to find the place and leave some nice clothes, some appreciation would be fair. It's not so much about the people running the place as it is people who get to use the clothes, but I am a bit turned off from donating to them again.

I called and left a message with DFSR for an outfit and a lil coaching since I've been out of work since covid. Even though they were so busy getting ready for their mobile launch they fit me in and styled me for my interview for the next day. She even asked me a few questions an interviewer might ask to prepare me for my interview. I had my interview this morning, everyone from the front desk, strangers walking by complimented me on how nice I looked. I felt so confident and professional, they offered me the position on the spot! Thanks again Dress For Success, you ladies ROCK!

The owner Alyssa is a pushy bossy women and she sells some of those donated items! She is very controlling. Don't like her. She knows a lot of people that's why shes open so long. People in positions helping her along the way. Thief

Awesome place to get styled and prepared to nail an interview for FREE. Alyssa and the other ladies there are amazing, patient and helpful. I go there anytime I have an upcoming interview or thinking about applying for a job. I was given a mock interview and strategies on what to say, questions I may want to ask. It really helped calm the anxieties of getting back into the workforce, and did I mention, for FREE. I also just attended my 1st pop up shop there a few days ago. All money collected from the pop up shop is put back into DFS. I got so much attire for so little money. I came out with 2 large bags stuffed to the rim. I Highly recommend.

I was a very shy and timid individual until I started volunteering here. The owner personally took me under her wing and taught me proper work etiquette among other things but the most important thing she taught me is how to love myself and showed me what it means to be a strong independent woman. Thank you Alyssa Whitfield for everything you have done for me. I am forever grateful and honored that I had a mentor like you.

I need to make an appointment to donate high quality suits??? And only accepting certain sizes? And they're only open when I'm at work? And when I do go over during business hours they aren't open at the times they say they are open?? Hahahahaha. Get over yourselves, you're a charity.
