Above average store ! Definitely cleaner than the rest. Restrooms are also cleaner but perhaps it's because I was there in the morning. They had extra amenities such as diapers for children and warm water faucets. Food in the store always looks fresh. I still believe it's hard to find items I'm looking for in any Wegmans this is no exception. They should have more guides and store maps and people assisting you to help you find things. I have the app but it seems to not be updated with the stores movement of items and goods. Would return here in the future

Really great store! I worked at Whole Foods for awhile and now work for a cheese distributor in WA. The sushi selection is the best at the best prices I've had at a grocery store. I didn't particularly like the spicy pork buns, but different folks different strokes. The bakery was beautiful and their cakes, macarons, and GF products were delicious. And omg the Wegmans brand k-cups .... I put a bunch in my suitcase to take back to WA!! This will definitely be the store I shop at every time I come back to visit Rochester, which will be a couple times a year. (Also, they have a few imported cheeses that I can't get at my job. How?!?! I'm looking at you, midnight moon and lamb chopper....)

This is a classic Wegmans. Not as nice as the OG but still has a decent selection of prepared foods. The prices are a little high, but that isn't unique to this store. As someone not from NY, I don't think Wegmans is anything special. For out of towners, I would compare this grocery store chain to a Publix. Not quite to the level of a Whole Foods or a Fresh Market.

We were in Rochester for a quick visit from California and happened to stumble on this Wegmans. It was great to come during fall season with all of the fall decorations outside. The store was huge and had a lot of departments to look at. For us the bakery was what really stole the show. We purchased two loaves of bread: one walnut-raisin loaf, and also a sourdough loaf. Both loaves stayed fresh for nearly a week, and were very tasty, especially the walnut raisin. It was also a treat to go to the meat counter and get some mortadella sliced to order. (That doesn't happen often in a California supermarket.) I'll admit the some of the prices were a bit high, but some prices were also fairly reasonable. We loved Wegmans so much that we visited several times during our stay. If we ever return to this part of New York again, we will definitely return

I like Wegmans but realize as I get older that they are in the same sales mind set as anyone else and will sell inferior products that they put their name on that are not what they appear to be. I heard about the illegal market that's exploded with the fake olive oils, especially the EVOO. So we've been using Wegmans Italian Classics 100% Italian EVOO for years. I discovered that only 10-20% of EVOO sold in stores is actually real. The rest is fake and highly processed with most of the oils natural health benefits removed in including all of the good fats & Omega 3's. I decided to taste this oil and realized it had a funny veggy oil after taste and bland at best. so i put the bottle in the fridge to see if any natural olive fat was present. It would not gel, cloud or harden like a real EVOO does. I then called the corporate supplier to ask for the actual ingredients. I got a huge run around and a lot of deflecting. He said he would call me back after getting the list of what's inside since it doesn't show on the label. He did say that he wouldn't purchase that olive oil and it's cheap so you get what you pay for. I did find real EVOO that wasn't way more expensive either and it has certification "COOC" and harvest date with a single source that can be traced, no hiding, full disclosure. It's Cobram from California and Wegmans sells it. It tastes amazing like real olives were used and solidified in the fridge. I'm in the process of contacting the proper people to simply find out what's actually inside what they sell. Very difficult! The reason I care so much is that EVOO was recommended in moderation by my doctor along with other foods for my high cholesterol. Now for 3 years I think I've been using nothing more than lamp oil. Hopefully, I'll find out soon.

Being from Texas, we don't have Wegmans in the Lonestar State. But I have heard of Wegmans from business school and how they're an iconic brand in the area. So, when I visited Rochester for two days, after a recommendation from my friend, I checked out their original location. I must say I believe in the hype. I walked around and liked how the store was structured and that they have a lot of prepared food e.g. sushi, sandwiches, pizza, etc. I bought a bagel, some beer, and some water so nothing special but I enjoyed the experience and get why it's a popular grocery store. If only they were in Texas!

Several years ago, I started going to Wegmans as a slightly upscale grocery store. It was nice, a treat. There was a great selection of everything! Then things started to slip. The dairy section started having sporadic shortages. That became the norm. Now Wegmans house brands have really pushed out competing brands of most products in the store. National brands of things are put on bottoms shelves. You have to get on your knees to find them, if they are there at all. So now we have to pay above normal prices and are stuck with Wegmans house brand on everything. Well, actually we don't and we're not. We are no longer going to Wegmans after today.

Like pretty much every native Rochesterian, I had always been under the impression that Wegmans is the greatest thing since sliced bread. After meeting my wife, who is not originally from this area, I began to see things differently (her initial reaction after visiting Wegmans for the first time: it's a decent grocery store, but nothing amazing). Wegmans does three things really well, IMO: 1) Their hours. Unlike other grocery stores, they almost never close. 2) Their selection. Wegmans has a great variety of choices for nearly any time of product. 3) Their pastry and sub shops are both very good (pastry shop is quite $$$ though). The main reason to come to Wegmans in my opinion is if you need very particular items (e.g., bomba rice, red fresno peppers) that you are unlikely to find in another grocery store. That being said, I think there are a lot of things that Wegmans doesn't do well: 1) The quality of their produce isn't that good (it's no better than places like Costco or Trader Joe's, if not worse) and is the most expensive compared to other supermarkets in the area - Trader Joe's, Costco, Aldis and Walmart. 2) Food there tends to be very expensive (e.g., bread, produce, prepared meals). For instance, I brought a bag of bell peppers at Wegmans recently for around $5.99. A similar-sized bag at Trader Joe's or Costco or Aldi's is $2-$3 less. Loaves of bread often cost $5+. I've been to bakeries all over the US, France and Italy, and I can't ever recall seeing such expensive bread. 3) The prepared meals tend to be low quality, not particularly tasty, and very expensive for what you get (essentially, restaurant prices for TV dinner / fast food quality). By contrast, a lot of the prepared stuff I get from Costco tends to be much tastier (and likely higher quality) and often less expensive. For example, I can get a box of 4 prepared sandwiches at Costco for about $$10. At Wegmans, a similar quantity of sandwiches would probably be $20+. I also think once the nearby Whole Foods opens up, many people will go to them for prepared foods instead (since Whole Foods, from my experience, tends to have a much better, tastier, healthier and, yes, cheaper prepared foods section). 4) Most of Wegman's store label products are not that good, from my experience. For instance, I brought, for $5.49, a bag of their store brand baked cheese puffs, which were tasteless and probably the worst baked cheese puffs I've ever had. If you're comparing Wegmans to a crappy grocery store like Tops, then yes, I would agree it's a superior grocery store. If you're comparing Wegmans to places like Costco, Trader Joes, and Aldis, which offer better products and/or lower prices, then I would generally disagree.

The car I ordered should have costed no more than $10-15 not $25 because the cake was small and hardly any filing and cake was not moist. High way robbery like my Dad use to say.

Does not make people wear masks. Their own employees do not respect the cart length away rule and will stand right next to reaching across you to stock something. Bunch of stinking idiots.

This is definitely one of the better Wegmans that Rochester has to offer. Their prepared foods section alone is incredible. They have more options than any other Wegmans for dinner choices. I never knew they offered a taco bar until this store. My fiance and I picked up some crab cakes here once for dinner, best crab cakes ever... Made the top five list. We also got these Asian dessert ice cream ball things. Oh my lord that were heavenly. The grocery selection is always top notch too. I still don't like that Wegmans is moving to only have Wegmans produces but it is what it is.

The flagship Wegmans! The selection is great, with lots of vegan groceries and prepared foods that are hard to find elsewhere. The store is always clean and has many unique amenities, including an expansive lounge area and various "concepts" which are undergoing market testing. Not much to complain about, but avoid peak hours. The parking lot can be a doozy.
