NOT TO BE TRUSTED ! After some 60 plus continuous years and multiple accounts they applied a $21.50 per month "maintenance fee". That adds up to $258 per year for the "privilege" of banking with them. And why the new fee? Simply because the structure of the accounts changed. By reassigning their own hierarchy of programs there would be no fee. Not so much as an email to alert me to this arbitrary change. So end result they will remove this latest $21.50 fee, but not the one they applied in December. Shame on me for trusting, of all businesses a bank. It would be interesting to know just how many people have been victims of this financial shell game. Again, Canandaigua National Bank should NOT BE TRUSTED.

Canandaiga Bank is by far the best bank I have ever had an account with. Every branch I go to is friendly and professional. My branch in Brockport is awesome! The workers there are amazing and they go out of the way to please the customer! They are the best!

Sadly this bank bank has gone down hill when it comes to retail and end user services. If you are a regular consumer or checking/savings account holder, prepare for less than mediocre technology in the mobile app, antiquated ATM software, and pretty shoddy customer service. If you lose or misplace your bank card, forget about a rapid response for a week or more (depending on what day you order a new bank card) aside from going into the bank for your own money. They sent me a defective card (chip was faulty), I had to pay 20 bucks to get a new one expedited quickly. Mind you, quickly meant 5 days later. Went into a branch in Victor, was treated horribly by an assistant manager before we even addressed the issue. Felt demoralized coming in and asking for help. MOST Customer Service phone reps are definitely not trained with any empathy skills or actual CS ability. Id say 1 out of 10 calls (statistically) I have made over the past 5 years have been satisfactory. All the other calls I have ever had, make me feel like I'm a bother to the entire company, and frankly makes me hesitant to ever reach out. It's a terrible feeling to be made to feel like trash for having an issue. As much as I desire to support a local homegrown business, save yourself a lot of future stress and go with a credit union or a large corp. like Chase. I direct deposit a lot of money every month, and I'm sure they will be happy to serve me better than this. Or at least not talk down to me when I do have an issue. This frustration and review is unfortunately after close to a dozen bad experiences over the years. It seems to be a trend and the norm now, so enough abuse by a business I patronized. NOT ANYMORE... Good riddance, I already feel relief to be leaving...

Recently visited a branch, Honeoye falls just to cash a check. Was informed that I needed to submit 2 forms of ID and social security number. LOL, they would also be calling the account holder to verify check in which was no problem. Already have 2 banks I deal with and would not be giving anyone my social to cash a check. You have a valid photo ID and calling the check issuer isn't enough, LOL. Then you also have to love the smug attitude of these trolls that work there. Good luck, so glad I'm not a member.

Completely disorganized. Tellers don’t seem to talk to managers, and managers don’t seem to have any idea what’s going on. Stopped by to get “put in the system” for a POA, seemed easy enough. Information never seemed to make it to the right person. Alternating between being told I needed to come back in, it could be done over the phone, or it could be done via email. Considering the entire reason that I need a POA is because this operation can’t reliably make scheduled recurring payments. Payment has to be stopped, and made in person to avoid their late fee (probably by design to fleece their customers). Other than being grovelingly apologetic: Ethan was the only one so far able to get anything accomplished.

Canadaigua National Bank This bank should be investigated. I have submitted complaints to the state attorney generals office and to the federal reserve. This bank will lose your payment checks then charge you late fees as you make continuous phone calls between your bank that made the payment and Canandaigua national Bank who says they never received it. Then after you tell Canandaigua national Bank that you are canceling the check they will suddenly find it and try to cash it and then charge you a return fee. I had such a big problem with this bank that I traded in my vehicle in order to get out of the loan. The dealership paid off my loan and it was closed. Without my knowledge Canandaigua national Bank reopen the Account stating that I owe them $411 for the canceled checks. They have now hit my credit for being late again without my knowledge the account was even open. I am not the only person that this has happened to. My bank citizens bank reports that this happens all the time with Canandaigua national Bank. Judging from the reviews I find online I am not the only person. In the middle of a pandemic when money is already tight I find it a palling that a financial institution is stealing money from people who don't have the money to be taken. The executive staff hides and refuses to return phone calls.

Switched banks as my bank offered no way to earn interest on my minimum 20k balance. What I learned was that I am at a point in life where I prefer good service over a few hundred dollars a year in interest. The frustration I experienced at CNB in a two months period was unbelievable.

I paid off a loan. A month later, they tried to take another payment, which resulted in an insufficient funds fee from my other bank. After contacting them, I was essentially told "too bad". Customer service was rude and unprofessional. Their website is very unorganized as well. I was told it was my fault because I didn't set up the payment properly on their website. Even though this is how I was told to set it up initially when I called and set up the online account access. Not sure how it's my fault that their website is trying to collect a payment for a loan that was closed. And it is definitely not my fault if something was set up incorrectly when the same customer service instructed me to do it this way in the first place. I'm glad I'm done with them, and I'd never do business with them again.

Would not approve me for the car loan for the cheaper, more reliable vehicle, with a better service history but would approve me for the more expensive vehicle that has been in an accident. Also, they messed up the financing paperwork and didn't include any of the taxes and then called me a week and a half later trying to change the terms of the loan agreement. I met with the bank manager and she offered no resolution. Forget these people. Crooks. ESL is far better.

The bank is good. However, this branch, off East Henrietta Road in Henrietta (Rochester) has a horribly rude bank manager. She has lied to me about details of opening another account, interrupts me when I ask questions and constantly cuts me off, she is insulting, she smirks, rolls her eyes, laughs and acts like I'm stupid ...this has happened before but today was the worst. I will never go in there again.
