I'm experiencing an issue with my bicycle headset on my ebike. I called Bert's and they told me "company policy" that they won't work on an ebike unless it is one they sold. Seriously? It's a headset, not a motor, a headset. Nothing to do with a motor.I will not be taking my bike here or servicing this business.

I came in today with my bike (A 1986 Free Spirit Brittany) to get new tubes and tires and I can say I am pleased with the result! I came in sort of last minute (30 minutes before close, yikes!) and while another customer was very clearly upset due to a misunderstanding but they still managed to fit me into the schedule. The staff in general were very chill and the service was quick and professional. A bit pricey, but I got all new tubes and gumwall tires as well as a new set of front brakes. They tightened almost all the nuts and bolts as well (that had to be done!) my kickstand has never been firmer and the front fender rattle is gone. While I could have done all this myself, it was nice to not have to for once. Like I said, I am very pleased with the result (My daily 10 mile commute has never been smoother or faster!) I would suggest someone go here if they need help with bike repair.

I had a little buyers remorse with my current Bulls Cross Lite Evo.The quality of the bike is great, However, I outgrew it quickly. It was a stage 1 with a 20 mph cap on speed. I decided to go to Bert's and get a Stage 3 Giant Explorer e +2 bike with a 28 mph cap on speed. My daily round trip commute consists of 86 miles. With frequent stops, and my level of fitness the best I could expect was a 4 hour commute. With my new Giant, riding an average of 23 mph I can do the commute in 2 hours. I will see how this works out over the next few weeks. I don't want to go back to a motorcycle because I won't get the fitness benefit. The Jacob the manager, Jeff and Jaza tolerated my daily inquiries over the past few weeks. They were very patient with my "millions" of questions. They also let me take numerous test rides to insure that I was comfortable with my purchase. They can count on my continued patronage in the future.

Recently I took my Cannondale bike to Bert's Henrietta location with a serious steering problem that I could not figure out the cause. The control problem resulted in crash and serious shoulder injury. It didn't take long for the mechanic to figure out the problem. The bike is about 15 yrs old, and was not purchased at Burt's. Generally the bike is in good shape, but the mechanic determined there was a design / structural problem. The front fork assembly was cracked, allowing the lower part of the front fork / wheel to be separated from the bike!!! The mechanic suggested I take the bike to a Cannondale dealer asking about possible warranty replacement. I did, and learned there was a recall issued for the bike. I appreciated Burt's taking the time to determine the cause of problem with a bike they did not sell me, and suggesting I check into possible warranty coverage. Thank you! Cannondale is offering to replace bike apparently because of recall issue.

We have bought 2 e-bikes and 1 normal bike from Bert's Bikes. Our experience overall has been excellent, for 2 out of the 3 bikes, our salesman was knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy at all. The last experience was less, I hope this was due to the salesman being new (?). They have the widest assortment of bikes around Rochester though it needs to be noted they do not stock the Specialized brand. They have Trek and other major brands. They also sell tricycles (Terrabike)! Having been a customer at other bike stores around the area, this has become my go-to store because of the service and the assortment of bikes and accessoires.

I was told my bike would take a day or two and I needed it back for a ride which I had the next day. The tech was very accommodating and had it done in 20 minutes. Only complaint is that he never cleaned the dry lube off the bike which was left all over my bike and seat.

Bought several electra bikes, not told much when purchased bikes about what to service, so a few issues, frustrating, but Justin took care of the issues, love my townie go 7d, battery is expensive, $600, if you need a new one, but bike has 4000 miles and still going, holding up well. Get good heavy tubes and liner for tires to avoid flats. And ask alot of questions..

Called the shop today to inquire about my treadmill purchase from 2016. The team was awesome, spent the time to pull up my records and since I now live in Florida, they electronically send my proof of purchase. They also inquired as to my need and provided me all the information to contact Spirit Equipment. Great customer service even 7 years after the sale.

Good selection of bikes, but all the staff I have encountered have either been unable to answer my technical questions, or have been outright rude. I feel like I am annoying them just by being in the store, and they can’t wait for me to leave. Was ready to drop ~$5k on a new MTB, but after speaking with a few staff members I decided Tom’s deserved my business more - they have a friendlier and much more helpful staff, and actually seem to care about their clients. Go to Tom’s instead.

Great service! Nick was extremely Helpful in getting my bike dialed in before a weekend out of town riding. Honest service and advice, and very competitive pricing with loads of knowledge. Would recommend!

Large selection of bikes. Lesser selection of helmets - lots of designs and sizes but you won't find the weird stuff here like dragon scales. Guy who helped us was very nice - we were only shopping for helmets but he helped us find good fits and install lights on them.
