Note to everyone: Always prefer walking over taking Avis. They will not have the reserved category of vehicle you want. They will deny any assistance through customer service. The worst experience of all car rentals.

Went to pick-up my car and Avis didn’t have any of the cars left in the class I reserved. The attendant was gracious enough to move me up a level. The car they gave me was brand new that day, it only had 118 miles on it. I have had other rental companies leave me high and dry with no car when that has happened. Thanks Avis.

Prepaid reservation is a joke, I was told by the customer agent that 113 is the cost just for the reservation and that the actual rental would be an additional 480????? Do yourself a favor and never rent out a vehicle with Avis. Poor communication, and lots of hidden fees

Car had stains on it before I even got in and now they are charging me to clean up someone else's stains. At pick up I was initially given vehicle that I didn't order even though there was one available. Was told there is no guarantees. I was able after some convincing to get the vehicle I wanted. Car had stains on passenger seat that I took pictures of.

Had Avis not provided me with a different car whose tires wasn't bald, and didn't have this dry rot here, I would have personally went with another agency on the spot. I will not ever be using Avis in the future from this location, as it was impossible to speak to someone at the counter. Added the fact that the extensions I used kept leading me wrong due a flight being delayed, I would have never done Avis. Another thing I need for my job, which I I never received is the receipt. I will personally be using a different rental company from here on out due to this experience.

this location does not answer their phones, prompting the call transfer into the central location which CANNOT manage reservation changes to at the local office. i was guided by the central office i must contact local office to exchange cars, but this mandated walk-in opposed to efficiently scheduling a change (not wasting my time) for an extended rental. This reflects poorly on Avis.

Was charge addition money for no reason called customer service and they told me they couldn’t help me until 48 hours after drop off. They have no clue was to why I was charge anything.

Received a dirty and cigarette reeking car at pickup, ignored that started driving for a 14 hour drive and the wheel started rattling. Had to call customer service and switch out the car. When i arrived to switch out the car new location had no record of the switch. Spent 45 mins calling customer service and getting the switch figured out. Car i received after the switch had extremely stained seats and far from good condition. Just and extremely poor rental experience as far as value and cost.(Paid almost $600 for a 2 day rental and i wouldn’t pay $600 to rent the same car for 2 months again) I wouldn’t rent from Avis again super poor experience.

Worst Customer service.. incompetent crew at Airport 01/09 at 3:22 PM ( They shouldn't work at car wash.....)Had reservation for one way to JFK. Wanted to pay with Debit Card but company policy is only Credit card is accepted. Had me running all over airport trying to figure out how am I going to get rental, untilI read terms and conditions (the smallest font on a bottom of the email ) that says that "Debit card" s accepted only if you fly out the same day of you return. WHY!! would not be helpful ! and point out to that rule....Who drives 7 hour to JFK for birds watching???? ..Never again

I had booked the car from priceline with insurance. The staff at the rental pickup counter tricked me into taking double insurance that cost me extra ~145$. I had no idea at the pickup time that there would be extra charge. Also, the charge was applied after the trip was over. If only the charged was applied sooner, I would have canceled immediately. Be careful about the staff and during rental pickup. Make sure you double check what you are getting into. p.s. the rental car was good.

Location in Henrietta was horrible. Dirty outside and inside building to office. Was told they didn't have any cars to replace the rental we got from Albany Airport. The tires were bald and had to still drive it to make a cancer appointment. Ended up driving to Rochester Airport location which went smooth only issue was they were the only rental that didn't have a outside booth so we had to make my mom walk all the way inside. Not a fun experience considering g we rent from Avis regularly for teips

Please make sure that you get a written or email of the time of return of vehicle. When I arrived at the AVIS return area at EWR airport, I was directed by two AVIS associate to park my car in a specific row, leave the key at the dash of the car and that would automatically check me out. I did ask them for a receipt and I was told that there would be an automatic check in and I did not need to do anything else. I was concerned that I did not have a written proof of return and therefore took a picture so that I would at least have that as a proof. And just as I had suspected, the next day I get a email/sms about a late check out and a late fee. After spending 2 hours on the customer service line - they are still looking into it. Hopefully, it will get sorted.PLEASE learn from my stupid mistake and don't trust the associates. Take a receipt of the rental return.

If you do not want to be deceived, do not do business with Avis Rental Car. I went and requested a Chevy Suburban to travel to John F Kennedy Airport in New York. I reiterated to costume services if the delivery was at the same airport and they replied that if I signed on the computer when I reviewed the printout at home, the delivery was in Rochester. New York, what I had to pay was 200.00 dollars more, that's called a scam.

Sunday 09/17/2023 I had a reservation for 7am pick up. I had to walk back and forth 3 times (counter-garage-counter) because they were giving me 3 cars that they were in need of for service (1 with low tire air and 2 with the need of oil change). The 4th time and after 1 hour I got a working car with some scratches.
