My miniature pincher was suffering with allergies & an ear infection. My regular vet could not see her for two weeks even after I begged my vet to see her immediately. My neighbor told me how great Vetco is so I gave them a call & they immediately gave me an appointment for the next morning. Dr. Carroccia & her entire staff were excellent. Professional, knowledgeable & caring. I highly recommend them for all your pets.

This place should be closed down. Picked up a medication for my dog yesterdayand They had no clue what medication he had already been prescribed. Didn’t know what he was currently being given. No knowledge of my dogs meds. THATS SCARY!!! When I asked over the phone, why they did not know he was not taking Gabapentin anymore the girl (who refused to give me her name) stated it’s not their job to keep track of what medication is my dog takes. WOW!!!!! I’m Trying to get more medication for my dog with a bone cancer who only has a month left to live. The girl with the glasses who answers the phone puts me on hold to ask the veterinarian about medication questions I have. When she gets back on the phone, she tells me that gabapentin and tramadol Are basically the same thing. I ask her if they are the same thing then it wouldn’t make sense to have both so I will choose the one that would be more effective for pain. She confirms this. Without asking the veterinarian about taking my dog off of gabapentin. She just gave me medical advice for my dog over the phone without asking and sent me home with a prescription for one medication without the other. My dog has been in excruciating pain ever since. I actually made an appointment to put him down because I can’t take hearing him cry anymore . I am having him put down by another veterinarian due to lack of confidence in Vetco Total Care, but I was advised to pick up a sedative for my dog from Vetco because they are the ones who diagnosed him with bone cancer. When picking up this sedative, they repeat again that he should take it with a Gabapentin. I told the girl he hasn’t been on gabapentin for quite some time but thanks anyways. She does nothing to try to clarify or rectify The situation just says OK thanks have a great day They are not even aware he is not on gabapentin anymore due to the negligent advice of the brunette girl, who works at Front with the glasses.

I've been using Vetco in Riverhead since I first got my puppy. (8 months). The place is clean and the staff is amazing. What's even better is when your little buddy sees the building and gets excited to see his vet friends. They are great with animals and care about customer service. I would personally avoid the patchogue store. That place is filled with not so friendly staff. Only reason I'm adding this ? I will drive the 40 minutes to bring my dog to Riverhead that's how much respect I have for them and love my animal. The prices are comparable to regular vets. Not saving money using vetco. It's just a great place to use for all of your needs. One stop shopping is ideal to me.

hours agoNEWWe took our dog to this location on Saturday because she was limping. We initially went for X-rays, but were told that we couldn't get X-rays, because both assistants were pregnant. No problem plan b was to wrap a splint, give some meds, come back in a week to see how it goes. To my surprise my pup was brought out without a cone on her head to limit access to the sprained leg. I asked about the need for the cone, but was told it wasn't necessary, because the wrap had a bad taste dogs don't like. That night my dog ripped off the bandage. I called today to ask the vet to reapply the bandage. They said they could, but it would cost 150 AGAIN! I was so upset. They lied, and said they told me to get a cone... I just paid $320 for the appointment. If they thought I needed a cone why didn't they just put one on her, and charge me for it then?! They also tried to change the course of action, and asked me to bring the pup in for X-rays tomorrow since it was part of the plan... NO THAT WAS NOT THE PLAN! The plan was to see if the splint and meds was enough to fix the issue. They did offer to wrap the leg up at a discount, because I still had the splint... It would only cost $120!!!! Are you kidding me?! This office is rude, inconsiderate, and clearly not caring about the animals they work with... I don't want to say that about all of them, because Jackie was cool, but Olivia and Susan had major attitudes today, and the Office Manager Jessica was so offensive it lead me to this... By the way, if you need to call anywhere to complain about them, you can only call their office to complain! So I would have to call them to complain about them to THEM! I couldn't be more upset about this! The sad thing is my pet suffers. The nerve of these people for not being able to take the splint I already have and wrap it back on unless I paid another $120. The wrap would take about 10 minutes, and the material probably cost 10.. You should be ashamed of yourselves! I bet they won't even respond to this review..

I brought my FIV cat to Vetco two yrs ago with an infection. She was given antibiotics and her infection cleared up. FIV cats are immune deficient. She remained clear of infection until now. She developed lymphoma and has tumors throughout her body. The most caring vet gave me options and did not pressure me into any one of them. She answered all of my questions and told me that whatever option I chose was the right one for me with no judgement. My cat is now showing signs of needing help to pass. The vet assured me that I would be permitted to be present and hold my cat during the procedure; that she would be given a sedative first and would be asleep during it. With prior experience in dealing with the final events of our animals, several other vets did not allow me to be present. It's not something I am looking forward to but knowing that I will be there for our lovely cat in her last moments, with this caring vet, gives me some consolation. I recommend Vetco in Riverhead without reservation.

My cat stopped eating so I brought him to Vetco in Riverhead. They took blood and said he had toxins in his kidneys and every option they gave me would cost over 1000$. So I brought him to a real vet and they said his kidney levels were thru the roof and no treatment would have helped. Vetco just wanted to get money out of me. The most humane thing was to put him down. I am so mad that Vetco didn't tell me the severity of the situation or care about prolonging my cats misery just for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again.

Just wanted to say how pleased I was with the service I received for my beagle at Vetco in Riverhead. I had to call SIX local veterinarians in our area from Shirley, CM, Eastport and Manorville. Every one of them said not accepting new patients or they could see my dog in September! So I called Vetco in Riverhead and they gave me an immediate appointment and took great care of him at a reasonable cost

Wonderful Veterinary care facility! Everyone from the Receptionists to the Veterinary Technicians to the Veterinarians I have seen are lovely! Thus far I've brought two of my cats there and I am so pleased that I have made an appointment to have my third cat seen there later this week. From each of my experiences, I give them my highest rating! Thank you Vetco team for taking excellent care of my precious furchildren!!!!
