We had a wonderful time staying here for our son's wedding. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurants food Bistro72 was absolutely delicious, and we complimented the chef when he came out.

Rooms: The room was on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. Easy access to parking!
Nearby activities: Great location to Tanger and to tour the north fork or south fork! Loved being so close to Wading River and Sound Ave, all the farms and restaurants. So much to do!!

The hotel rooms were super average, however, the grounds were fantastic. Restaurants great. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. I hope to go back in the summer and make use of the fantastic outdoor pool. Super easy to get to the outlets. The hotel was clean and had great places to meet up and hang out. Cigars available at the front desk.
I will say, we love dog friendly hotels, and are grateful to see a nice hotel that allows pups, there were a few disrespectful guests who allowed their dogs off leash in the hotel and it was unnerving to have a dog off leash and not listening to owners come at our kids growling. Also, at around midnight my husband left his suit jacket outside, by 7am it was gone- his fault, sure. But there was little help offered.

My husband and I checked into our room, booked a year earlier, on our wedding night around 2am after our amazing wedding. Upon entry to our room, we found a girl fully clothed in a dress sleeping on the bed, personal items everywhere. We could have been anyone walking in on this girl. After finally getting the occupants out an hour later by the help of wonderful security, we got an extremely uneasy sleep that night. We booked so many rooms in our block and provided this hotel great business just for the bride and groom to get screwed. First they offered us late check out as that didn’t help us and all we wanted to do was get the hell out. They comped our room(least they can do) and stated we will be hearing from IHG but never have. Kristy was awesome the next day and we received and email apology from the general manager. What about corporate? If you are a bride getting married out east I would be cautious. Beware who you’re walking in on when entering your room! It killed the vibe of what was a really great night.

I had a terrible experience here. At 3:00 am, while I was asleep, a worker physically entered my room (thank goodness for the latch lock, which prevented him from getting all the way in). Apparently, due to an error made by staff, my room was listed as being empty and the hotel had given access to my room to guests. At the time I was roused out of bed, I did not even know it was a staff member so you can imagine my fright. Apparently, however, the hotel did not think anything of it. I received no formal apology -- it was like it never happened. I had to report the issue the next morning. On top of that, I was promised a full refund for the room only to receive a 30% reimbursement. I see another reviewer below had the same issue. Extremely unprofessional -- stay away from this place.

On the positive side, the hotel is easy to get to, with plenty of parking. Check in process was easy. The negatives - There were no bellhops to assist with luggage. We immediately found the elevator closest to the front of the hotel was out of order, perhaps a sign of things to come. The room was disappointing. The bathroom is very small, but the worst part is the sink is so tiny, it’s impossible to wash your face and brush your teeth without making a splattering mess. There are no towel racks, probably because the room is so small finding enough wall space would be challenging. The lighting is horrendous, which made dressing for a wedding challenging. As far as cleanliness, the room appeared to be clean. However, we both started having allergic reactions, but finally realized it was only when we were in the room. When we figured that out, and looked around more deeply, we found filth in hidden places such as behind the TV and on top of the bathroom mirror. The rooms are not even close to being sound insulated. We had the unfortunate experience of having to listen to our neighbor retching his guts up for a good 30 minutes. Very unpleasant.
Rooms: The rooms, and especially the bathrooms need updating badly. When the shades are drawn, lighting is beyond poor.

Spent 2 nights here for a short, relaxing getaway. I have to say, from the receptionist, the cleaners, and the bistro workers, everyone was amazing. The pool was cold, but we still had a great time. The food at bistro was really good, as were the drinks. Live music by the outdoor fireplace made the night wonderful. We will be visiting again!

I was in town for a funeral and the Hotel Indigo Riverside let a strange man into my room while I was naked and changing. If you're a domestic violence victim, be careful staying at the Hotel Indigo Riverside because the hotel may just hand a working key to your abuser.
A man entered my locked hotel with an active and working key. When I went to the front desk to ask how this happened, the woman shrugged, said it happens here occasionally, and said sorry for the inconvenient and reset my key.
So if you like spending $300-700 per night to have your naked self observed by strangers, Hotel Indigo Riverhead is your place.
Upon checkout, the lady at the front desk had the nerve to insult me by taking like $50 off the bill, and offering a free night in the future.
On top of that, the hotel elevator was broken, vending machine broken, peeling wallpaper in the room, chipped glass mirror in the bathroom.
What a shameful experience.

The bistro boasts music every night past 11:30 PM. How are you supposed to get a good nights sleep? It’s Monday night, no one is outside eating and the music is so loud, I can hear it over my TV. Asked the front desk if they could turn it down… no go. Def not staying here again.
Outdated gym equipment. Water pressure in shower was a joke. I had more water pressure in the sink.

I've been to many hotels but this one was shockingly bad.
To start the elevator was out, initially no big deal but it got worse.
We spent time at the pool our first day and ordered food by the pool, nachos, a beer, a margarita. The total came to $50, When we got the nachos they were already soggy from sitting around.
Later that night the ceiling tiles in the dining room fell down to which the staff said we should leave quickly because the tiles are filled with asbestos.
Here's my philosophy, you can either charge high prices and provide high quality or charge low prices for low quality. If this was a inexpensive hotel I might have not even written this review but for rates between $400-950 this is unacceptable.

Was in town for a wedding so didn’t spend much time here but location was convenient. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Outdoor seating area was nice and the reservation includes breakfast. Typical breakfast buffet but they also had what I think were in house made egg wraps wrapped and easy to grab and go with. They were a great way to get breakfast before checking out and were really tasty.

We spent the day at a pool cabana, so can’t comment on the rooms.Experienced the most wonderful time at Hotel Indigo. The staff was friendly, pleasant and accommodating. Food was good and the hotel was very clean. The only reason i don’t give it a 5 star is due to location and the outdated facade. Once inside, the outside didn't matter! Definitely will recommend.

Everything thing was just great, with all the people that work there @ the Bistro we had dinner in was really great. But now lets talk about the breakfast, horrible if I could come up with another word I would but that about sums it up. Plan a trip to IHOP
Rooms: Rooms were clean and comfortable
Food and drinks: Bistro had really good food for dinner.
Breakfast the next morning, which I look forward to when going away was terrible
