Nightmare place. Nothing like the photos. Stayed here in October 2022. Owner wanted us to leave the room door open at night so the heat from the common room would heat our room. No hot water. The guy had actually turned off the water heater until enough guests complained and he came down and immediately turned it on. Minimal heat except for the common room. Finally he gave us a space heater. Stains and hairs in room. Old and worn. They show photos from years ago to get you to reserve there. Anyone could walk in there at night. Sketchy place!!Safety: Place is sketchy

Avoid this establishment at all costs: The musty smell was overpowering almost before entering the building, which is a ramshackle house featuring a bizarre layout, rooms MacGuyvered out of hallways and stairwells, and cheap sheets covering shattered windows. We were already concerned about the safety of our family breathing the air inside our “room” when we got word of a family emergency shortly after checking in. Soon after, I called the owner to let him know of our sad news, and he said flatly: “Just return the keys at the front desk.” I asked about a possible rebate since we were no longer able to use the room, and he said, in our time of deep shock and sorrow: “I don’t believe you.”Three days later, I'm still stunned and saddened someone could make a difficult moment in a person's life so much worse. So, the hotel is an absolute horror show of musty rooms, broken old furniture blocking exits and questionable safety standards. That would have been one thing, but add to that an uncaring and hostile owner and here I am, writing the only poor review I’ve ever written about anything on the Internet. The nicest thing I can say about it is that the front desk lady was kind to my son. She was helpful in navigating the many obstacles to our room, and showed us the common area for playing broken board games. If only it weren’t directly in view of a staff area, where employees were hanging out on a bed (?), gossiping and staring at us as though we were in a museum.Because of health and safety concerns, I plan to continue seeking a refund. Needless to say: Avoid, avoid, avoid.Rooms: The advertised "television" was a computer monitor smaller than an ipad. If you've seen the "Dinner Party" episode of The Office, you'll have a pretty good picture. The beds were misshapen and smelly. The rooms felt like converted hallways and stairwells. The layout was confusing and potentially dangerous in case of emergency.Safety: Our "room" did not appear to be safe. Neither did it really feel like a room: There was a heavy (unlocked!) door in the bathroom to a staff area, indicating the space had been converted from a hallway. We would have opened a window to fight the musty smell, but it was shattered--hidden behind a cheap sheet meant to hide it.Noteworthy details: The owner made a sad moment in my life even worse. Even if he couldn't refund any of my money, he could have avoided saying he didn't believe me. I have no idea why anyone would say this. Also dodgy, I think: The "Baseball Hotel" seems to go by a few different names, including the Townhouse Hotel. I don't know if this is meant to confuse folks who are looking for different options, but be wary.

Kindness and hospitality are two words that come to mind when I think of my time here. The owners make you feel like your family and provide seamless service while maintaining a clean environment.Nearby activities: The baseball Hall of Fame is less than 30 minutes away

This one-star review is not because the room was not clean. They actually were clean rooms. I just don't think the staff has much to work with. The website said they serve a continental breakfast. They didn't even have continental coffee. The rooms had no hair dryer, no iron or ironing board, no coffee pot, no microwave, or refrigerator. The showers were so tiny that you barely could fit in them. They are like camper showers. For $159 a night. I definitely would have driven the 20 minutes back out for a nice room. I was going off of pictures on the website. It looked like they served a nice breakfast. And the rooms were very nice, very, very deceiving.

The Baseball Hotel was a good value. The room was clean, quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal! We were able to park the car during our stay and walk everywhere we wanted to visit. It is not a fancy place, but it was efficient and very reasonably priced.

Staff was very friendly, Loved the interior the nice wood floors and the Cottage feel all around. The property is historic and unique. Hotel is very convenient to Glimmerglass and Cooperstown, and it is pet friendly. This was our second stay there. The staff is an asset.

This place was probably lovely in the past, but during our visit this month, it was pretty worn down. We never saw the owner and the place was virtually empty. In spite of that, we were crammed into a very small crowded room; the two double beds were placed end to end and there was little space to move around or place our luggage. There was no breakfast in the morning or even coffee. The town itself had little to offer. I would not recommend this listing.

When I had a unexpected family death they charged me an additional $380 to cancel on top of not refunding the $387 I paid for 2 nights. Now I am out almost $800 and still have other bills to pay. Would not recommend to anyone. This type of business is disgusting. Very insensitive way to do business.

Great place, clean and comfortable. Beautiful view from room. Good hot breakfast and all staff was very friendly and accommodating. I stayed a few nights and it was nice to have variety / change in offerings the second morning! Coffee is always very good and it is nice to have fresh milk or cream to use instead of the non dairy creamers. Thanks.

The Hotel is a great location !! Only about 11 miles to the Hall of Fame. The people were very nice, not only in the hotel but in the whole area. It was very comfortable and enjoyable too. We ate dinner and it was delicious. I recommend anyone to stay here!
