Went in looking to see if they have a specific bottle of rye whiskey. When the old man asked us about it, we tried to explain the booze line belongs to a celeb local to the area. In mid explanation the old man interrupted with an attitude saying "don't care, never heard of him." We kindly thanked him and walked out, never to return again. We went to the liquor store on Market Street (around the corner from Old Mill Wine and Spirits) instead which did have what we were looking for on top of having way better customer service. I do not recommend going to Old Mill Wine & Spirits due to staff being rude unless you are into that sort of thing.

I would never recommend this place if you need any kind of liquor. I went to them in a rush because I needed something for a get together and they only had a handful of liquors available. The one I needed was way over priced, only one bottle was available and it was covered in dust. I'm assuming it had been sitting there in the sun forever because it didn't even taste right anymore. As for the wine; the selection looked small and the price was higher than the other stores in my own area

If you are shopping for wine, THIS is the best shop in the area. The owner is a very knowledgeable wine connoisseur, whose expertise can help you select the perfect bottle. When the owner is not present, an elegant young man runs the store with an extensive amount of knowledge of wines, well versed on the regions & types of grapes, who can spurt off a quick summary of each wine, and help you choose something perfectly specific to what you like. I have gone into this shop, and wirh very little info from me about what I'm lokking for, both individuals helped me to select wines that became my favorites. Both assist shoppers with a friendly, easy going tone, while being so thoroughly educated , that it makes picking up a bottle, a nice, no pressure, easy experience. They have excellent excellent wines that are low price point, along with mid price point, as well as some of the finest most high end wines. Currently I'm enjoying an affordable bottle of cotes du Rhone that I never would have chosen without the help of the gentlemen working at the store. In addition to wines, the store has all the spirits you may need , minus the gross , hangover inducing, and college party worthy liquors that would ruin the classy aesthetic of this wonderful shop.Basically, the offerings of this store fit w the vibe that the interior and the owner have created, a CURATED selection of what you want to be drinking this evening, or bringing to your next dinner w friends.I noticed there where a couple bad reviews, one was prices high- no not true, they have some amazing wines for around $10-$14. They also have the regular liquors at their regular prices. No they don't sell low end barefoot $6 bottles of wine. But ew gross that Would ruin the integrity of the shop.Second they mentioned bad customer service and this couldn't be more wrong. As many positive reviews state, customer service is exactly why the local clientele keep coming back. These reviews of poor customer service e were prob just salty or offended after they came in asking for big box brand cheesy wines like "sutter home" or gross liquors like Jim beam.maybe these people felt out of place when the owner couldn't help them find "yellowtail".When I step in this store, I'm not stepping into some generic big box liquour store and wanting to grab and go because the store & experience of wine/alcoholic shopping feels "ick"... rather, I'm stepping into a classic asthetic of historical wooden shelving, beautiful bottles, and I feel like I could be in France, or Italy, last but not least, the owner and his gentleman staff member respect and love wine, and you want to support a privately owned business like that when you are buying wine.r

There's a review that says locals don't like this shop?I grew up here and live less than a mile away, and as a local, I'm so grateful and lucky that there is a REAL wine & liquors store in my town! A real wine store run by a wonderful wondeful human who KNOWS not only about wines, but also knows so much about the best spirits. The "local" who wrote that negative review, maybe they were just mad that this shop doesn't sell fireball or wine coolers. Lol.

A really nice lady helped me pick out two wines for friends. The wine selection here was much better than Rhinebeck down the street. The store had a few customers in it but they found time to come right up to me and ask me if I needed help. Appreciated the help.

Majorly negative attitude. Seems like he (I assume the owner) doesn’t wanna be there so why not hire accommodating employees. Do not understand the (fake?) positive reviews because plenty of locals do not like it here. Way better shops all around.

This is a fabulous wine and spirits shop. Charles (owner) is extraordinarily knowledgeable and passionate about every detail of his business, so much so that I just call ahead to ask him to pick my bottles of whatever I'm seeking; be it a champagne or merlot, etc. He always nails it. Their timely delivery is appreciated when I'm busy or cooking and can't get to the shop. I can't give this shop a higher recommendation.

Olde Mill is my go to wine shop. The owner always greets you with a hello and a sincere inquiry as to your day. He asks the right questions to find out what you want to drink, what you might be drinking the wine with and how much you want to spend. He always finds the best bottle for your price range. And he is just a nice guy. Always a pleasure to go to Olde Mill and buy a bottle of wine (or gin or single malt).

Olde Mill is my go to store for all things wine. The owner always recommends something new and he puts together a case a wine a month based on what he knows about my taste in wine. They have an excellent selection of both traditional and off the beaten path newbies. Prompt, efficient and friendly. They even take the case of wine to your car!!

Olde Mill Wine & Spirits is the shop you've been hoping for: a CURATED selection of excellent wines that the owner, Charles Derbyshire, drinks himself. These are wines you can buy with confidence. And Charles is always helpful and cheery.
