I could not be more grateful to the team at J. Scheer and Co. My beautiful Monique Lhuillier wedding gown was a mess and I waited way too long to have it cleaned.I was not very hopeful that it could be saved but after speaking with Jonathan Scheer and their sales director Grace - both of whom were extremely knowledgeable and courteous - I felt much better about proceeding. It took a while to complete but I was kept in the loop by their team and I could not be happier with the outcome. My dress was packaged beautifully and when I opened the box all of those beautiful memories came rushing back. Thank you Jonathan and Grace, and the entire team at J. Scheer and Co. It's nothing short of a miracle!

J. Scheer & Co was referred to me by my bridal salon, Galia Lahav Los Angeles. They provided me a coupon for the preservation process. The Monday after my wedding, I immediately called J. Scheer & Co to begin the preservation process. I invested into my bridal gown so I wanted to take care of it immediately after the wedding. I was able to speak to a representative right away and they got me a UPS appointment that same day. I took my dress and veil in their garment bags to that UPS store and it got shipped the next day.The UPS shipping to and from took about a week (West coast to East coast, vise versa). I was monitoring the shipping progress like a hawk. Once it was received, J. Scheer confirmed receipt via email and started their assessment process. I appreciated the transparency throughout the whole process. They gave me an estimate of costs, shared iPhone photos of the "damages" and they kept me in the loop the entire time.I was quoted 16 weeks for preservation, but it took almost 6 months due to COVID restrictions and regulations. I was in no rush to receive my dress so I was perfectly fine with it. Again, they kept in contact with me and gave me updates. I finally received my gown and veil in the nicest white box. It was not sealed, but they sent me an after-care instruction sheet as to why they do not do that. They even provided white cotton-like gloves since the oils and dirt in your hands could damage the gown. Now, I have this keepsake and hopefully a gown my future daughter will wear on her special day.Thank you, Maya, and the team! This was the last thing on my list and now all wedding to-do items are done.Use J. Scheer for your bridal dress preservation! You will not regret it.

Had my Vera gown clean and repaired with them - and communicated I would like the garment bag coming back. They never responded to that part of the request and when I ask again they asked for extra charges to ups the garment bag since it was not part of the agreement. When I received the cleaned dress and garment bag back i was shocked it was not my vera garment, mine had my name and wedding date on it and the logo is embodied on instead they sent a random one with no name / not embodied. I know you guys will think shut up lady, it is just a garment bag, but I felt my trust was violated, they weren't up front about the original bag was already gone, instead asked for shipment and send a random substitute wanting to fool the customer...

I bought a sample Amsale wedding gown in Washington DC three months before my wedding after there was a mix-up with the custom gown I had originally purchased. As the sample dress was a bit dirty from wear and tear, the bridal shop I purchased the dress from recommended J. Scheer & Co. to clean the dress prior to my wedding. I was in a time crunch and very panicked when I reached out to J. Scheer, but Greta assured me they would be able to get my dress back to me in a few weeks so I would still have time to have alterations done. With Greta's help the process was so much easier than I had anticipated, as they provided me with detailed instructions on how to ship the dress and gave me numerous updates as to the status of my dress. As promised, I received the dress back in about 4 weeks. J. Scheer did a fantastic job and I am so grateful for their help. They were able to turn a very stressful situation into a relatively easy one.

I used J. Scheer about 10 years to preserve my wedding gown. I opened the box today and it was like opening the box the first time I received it back. I live in the Midwest so I had to mail my precious dress to them to have it cleaned and preserved. That was nerve-racking to say the least. But the customer service I received was excellent. When I received my gown back, it was as perfect as the moment I put it on my wedding day! All the grass, dirt, food, etc. we're gone. Trust me I didn't trash my dress but I did have a party in it! I would re-use them again if I had an event dress that I wanted to preserve. And now, going on 11 years, 5 moves, 2 small children, the dress is still in perfect condition. And my dress is a Vera Wang with lots of beads, embroidery and chapel length train. The box is huge! But I put in under my bed for storage.

These people were rude and disrespectful. As someone providing a service to them I would expect to be treated right. But the display of total disregard for feelings that these people put out is inexcusable. I hope that when they require my services again they practice basic kindness and respect. Deffinetly not impressed with there people skills or customer service.

I chose J. Scheer to clean my wedding dress after debating extensively between them and Madame Paulette (which was the company recommended to me). I can't speak for Madame Paulette, but I can say that J. Scheer did a fabulous job. They charged me exactly what they said they would charge and the dress was returned to me exactly when they said that it would be. Everything is well cleaned and packaged and all the repairs that I requested were completed. I would absolutely recommend them.

Horrible service, rude to customers especially Jonathan. Just my opinion.

My dress looks amazing, especially considering the way it looked when I sent it to be cleaned. I let my dress sit with dirt and wine stains for months before finally sending it to be cleaned at J. Scheer. Katy was great and let me know exactly what they would be doing and the amount of time it would take. All of the stains are virtually gone and they fixed all the tears from my bustle and people stepping on my gown. I would definitely recommend them if you want a quality, detail oriented cleaner!

I was looking at my wedding dress today. I am so pleased! It looks like the day I bought it! Julie Burnsides was so helpful when I had questions about stains and their removal. I highly recommend them.

I got my Lela Rose wedding dress at Marina Morrison in San Francisco, and they recommended that I get it cleaned at J Scheer & Co. Was I little bit wary about sending my gorgeous dress across the country to NYC, to be cleaned by people I had only spoken to over the phone? YES. But honestly, I was scared of having anyone clean my dress. We've all heard the horror stories... In any case, I'm writing this review to let you know that my fears were completely unwarranted. The whole process with J Sheer was incredibly easy, and the customer service was excellent. Here's how it worked: They arranged for me to drop off my dress at my local UPS, and gave the store instructions on how to pack it correctly. They paid for the insurance and the cost of shipping. Once it had arrived in NYC, I received an e-mail about the condition of my dress and their plan of action. The whole process did take a long time, about 3.5 months or so. But once the dress was ready they called me and sent me an e-mail to arrange for shipping. When I realized I wasn't going to be home when the dress was supposed to arrive, I called J Scheer and they got back to me right away with different shipping options. Katy Mayer was my contact there, and she was awesome and very on top of her game. My dress arrived in a very study archival box and was wrapped in tissue paper. When I opened it up (using the white gloves they provided) it looked as beautiful as the day I got it. I was very, very relieved. J Scheer isn't cheap, but I found the price to be comparable to other high-end cleaners in the Bay Area. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other brides, whether they're in NYC or not.

I can't say enough good things about J. Scheer and Co! I did a lot of research before choosing them, and they thoroughly delivered on every promise. Everyone I dealt with was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and made the entire process so easy! The fact that they specialize in designer gowns made me feel better about handing over my treasured Vera Wang dress. Katy kept in touch every step of the way to make sure I knew what was going on with my dress, and their conservator Julie gave me clear notes both before and after cleaning so I knew exactly what to expect. My dress looked great, even better than I'd hoped, and unlike some preservation companies, they actually encourage you to open the box and see their work. J. Scheer is not inexpensive, but they are 100% worth it, and I would happily recommend them to any bride who wants the absolute best, safest treatment for the most important dress of her life.

:D:D Jonathan Scheer... thank you for being a motivating factor for me to log into Yelp after a hiatus of 3+ years just so I can deliver my expression of SCHEER disappointment, regret, and shock at your company's disreputable customer service practices. My yelp login attempts were quite the uphill battle after 3 years... so first and foremost... thank you truly for inspiring me and bringing out the best in me after very scheerly wiping away the single most precious memory a bride can hope for, and have reasonable expectation to materialize, during the planning process. Instead of kindly responding to my email request to describe the gown cleaning process to ensure my Priscilla of Boston sample dress would get the most pristine attention to detail, this company instead conserved quite the opposite and everlasting wedding memory for me when the Conservator proceeded to refuse me the explanation of standard procedure in gown cleaning, and explicitly told me to take my business elsewhere. As a result, this has set me back an entire month in my gown cleaning and alteration, as well as led to hysterical fits of laughter, tears, and scheer disarray. Of course you will remain in business, UES dollars travel quite deeply, and this will be a scheer speck on this company's attempted grandiose image. In spite of this, my soiled moment will be a scheer testament to one irrefutable fact - my dress may be soiled at the moment... sitting in your desolately scheer NYC basement.... but this company has just royally soiled itself and its reputation in this process, and that's the one memory I won't be taking with me down the isle, and I thank you for that :)
