I realized That my budgie needed a bad beak trim - called them - as there's no avian vets in my area - they didn't know me from Adam - got me right in ! I called and was told a 2 to 3 hour wait, was seen in under 2 hours and was charged 0$ because they said it was easy to get out. Kind and professional staff.”

“My elderly cat was at his end stage in life and I called this place because it was suggested by a friend. I was not a client. They fit me in, eased my baby’s suffering and were caring through the whole process. The woman I spoke to initially on Monday morning, around 8:40, was so sweet ? her voice made me feel so much better after a night of seeing my man suffer. You could hear the compassion and care. Answered all my questions regarding the price of everything. It made me feel at ease. I’ve worked in vet med and I know how euthanasia can just become procedure, but Dr Hartman was very gentle with my cat and I appreciated his straightforward but compassionate approach. Hoping when I pick up my boys ashes I can schedule an appointment for my other senior cat for a blood panel. Would love to make this place my new vet.”

I moved to the area with my 14 year old cat who with a slew of GI issues can be intimidating. They listen to his medical history, my concerns and did not make me feel as though I was overreacting to changes in his health. The front staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Both vets that saw my boys were wonderful. The day after a visit to get antibiotics for a cold, they called to see how he was doing. “If you are reading this review, you most likely have a pet. The word "pet" minimizes the relationship, the bond you have established with this, albeit furry member of your family. VCA Shaker acknowledges their patients by extending a tender approach in their care. My late chihuahua, a rescue, gave us joy for seventeen years. She survived the early onset of a heart condition because the staff of VCA Shaker monitored her condition and provided treatment that would ensure a quality of life for her remaining days. After she crossed the rainbow, Shaker sent condolences, a card signed by every member of the staff who had experienced an exchange with our "fur girl." That makes VCA Shaker more than a business (by the way it is owned by Mars - yup the candy maker) it's a pet sanctuary.”

“The previous place that spayed my cat didn't even bother to put a cone on her, despite using glue for the incisions. They were so careless, risking my cat's health! Thank goodness the same day I went to Banfield—they quickly fixed her up with a proper cone. And to top it off, the person who helped me at Banfield was the only good thing about the whole ordeal. Very cute too, respectfully. I wish I knew their name to give them credit they had cute longer hair in a cherry clip! ♡”
