Grapes and Grains is a "neighborhood" liquor and wine store. Although it may not be one of the super big liquor stores, it stocks a huge amt of liquors and wine. Plus the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. When I go there I know I'm going to find what I want and be treated well as a customer

Think I'll need a new place except for maybe some old standbys. Looks like they've been sold. It's half the size it used to be. Selection has been reduced. Prices seem to be on par with what they used to be but the wine grades are gone. I loved walking in and seeing what wines had high grades and give a new one a try. Now you have to know you like it ahead of time or stab in the dark. And GUYS....it's very rude to talk in your language when it's obviously about me.

They don't harass you like some liquor stores choose to do. I guess it it all comes down to whether or not we need to reduce this from the bottom line

Some thoughts; first Grapes and Grains used to be one of my favorite places to go to buy "adult beverages" great selection, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. Key word here is "used to be" I recently visited to purchase a couple bottles and found out they no longer share a "Veterans" discount ONLY active military. So let me get this straight because I'm not dedicating my life 24/7 in the United States Navy on a submarine anymore that a Veteran can't get a 10% discount ONLY active military can. Ummm... Seems a bit off if you ask me. Let's face it there is a massive competitive market here in the capital district and I'm happy sharing my business with 3 other places that gladly accept a "Veteran" discount. Grapes and Grains you lost my business and and then some. Word of mouth is a powerful advertising tool.

Polite, knowledgeable staff, with a decent selection to choose from. All of the main name brands to select from.

Once upon a time a place of good will and results. Maybe a change of management or ownership? Today I bought a corked bottle from a zombie. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I've been going here once a week for years (on bus route), getting the same big bottle of Grey Goose BEHIND the counter. Today I forgot my license (took a bus as usual), the owner refused my purchase. I'm not a kid, in my late 40s; Bussed home, then ubered to the New York Wine and Liquor Warehouse in the ShopRite Plaza. Wasted time and money for someone who is CLEARLY older than 21, got the impression the owner recognized me and knew I was MORE than old enough but wasn't happy I was waiting at the door at 9 a.m. when they opened. New York Wine and Liquor less than a mile away is cheaper... AND they have a reward system
