Surprise: the hours just got reduced arbitrarily; closing time is now 8pm on weekends and 10pm on weekdays! Their later closing times was one of their biggest draws for me but now the crowded next door retro fitness has better hours (and is half as expensive too.) All the clubs reduced hours and services, supposingly bc Covid. The value is getting dramatically less for me bc this just cut 1/2-1/3 away of my time there. This is not better service or experience to me or likely those that depend on late hours the single most important factor for us. They apparently pay staff minimum anyway so if they do this to save money maybe this is the start of a death spiral. Hope not.
Update 10/24: it’s now 5 stars - hours improved to 11 weekdays so is comparable to, with facility/ staff better, than other gyms locally. I should have updated this earlier after the hours improved and they the gym floor.

They increased memberships pricing, closed a location that’s easily accessible in forest hills, and rego park is smaller and now packed with two gyms in one. It’s unfair and sad to see NYSC falling part even with new management. Sad to see especially with my years of being with them

Cancelling my membership this month— machines are always broken, gym is full of mosquitos, showers are dirty with flies and they keep increasing the membership fees. Bye

They keep increasing the monthly fee every year but the gym is still the same, no improvements at all. The fee is now 50% more than it was 2 years ago, feel like they are gonna file bankruptcy again soon

You need to do a better job repairing or replacing broken equipment. There are several pieces of equipment that have been broken for over a month. The signs you place on these are lear evidence you are aware of this. Just to identify two: the tricep machine in the long row of equipment -- a piece is obviously missing; one of the three lat pull downs clearly can't be used. Do potential new members ask how long it takes to repair equipment? They should. Thank you for asking.

I have to start with a positive comment. The staff members are extremely helpful from the housekeeping lady to Robert the manager is amazing.
However I think ownership does care about the members at least dpes not provide the resources that a fitness center must have. . Extremely crowed, no space to work out and the machines do not work despite how many times we put in the request they don’t get fixed, We need a new fitness center in the area!!

NYSC upgraded a lot of their equipment in December 2023. There are wipes to clean the machines after use. The downside is the gym is crowded since members from the closed Forest Hills NYSC come to this location.

Machines are out of service for months. Is it real? Yes, it is. Now the new layout let weight room isolated and stink.
For me, it is just close to my home. If there were more choices nearby, I would not choose it definitely.

- I appreciate the new equipments but for some reason many machines are broken/ out of service and they are NOT being fixed/maintained for several months now. Despite the complaints, it seems they are not taking action any time soon.
- The abdominal crunch machine is no longer there ! I don’t know why ??♂️!!
- Also, the weights room has NO A/C which makes it harder for people to stay in. I hope someone listen to us.

While I am grateful for the new equipment and redesigned layout of the gym, the persistent foul odor in the weight room has been a significant issue. Despite several complaints over the last four months, the staff has yet to address the problem effectively. The existing fans provide some relief, but they are insufficient, especially given the constant influx of gym-goers and the high intensity workouts that take place in the area. An effective solution would involve the installation of high-quality air purifiers. Unfortunately, it appears that the staff is not prioritizing resolving this issue and I might be switching gyms soon as a result.

This is one of the best gym I ever been in my life. They have improved so much over the few years. No complain about the staffs, very nice and have a very good costumer service. The gym is always clean and people who is saying it is not clean they have to learn how to put their weights back it is not always the staffs fault. And people who is saying it is crowded, if you actually know what you are doing in the gym it wont be busy. But overall great job to Robert and Christopher.

Stay away from this gym! I am currently a member. Most machines are broken on a daily basis. Bathroom and sauna are disgusting. It’s way too over crowded, teens just hang out and take up space. Lots of the guys are there to talk to the teen girls. I saw a couple making out on a machine today. This gym is not for professional adults with a work life. My goal is to get a good 1hr workout, but it’s nearly impossible with everything going on in this dump.

The equipment is constantly broken… there is an adduction/abduction machine that has been broken an absurd 4 times (that i can remember). And when it gets repaired you can’t even open it fully to perform the adduction exercise appropriately. They also seem to refuse to buy a new one… tiring.
The staff, however, is super nice. Always greet people with a smile.

Nice team but
Mid gym. 3-5 machines always broken and ventilation is awful. Actually makes the workout less fun when it smells like 50 peoples sweat at once.
To the owner of this gym: invest 500-1000
Into 5-10 amazon air purifiers and filters and you’ll see a difference in customer satisfaction
Not worth $55.00/month if you can’t breathe normal air.
I will be looking elsewhere soon if it doesn’t improve by September
I’ll change my review if gym improves
