“This Michael's was organized, I didn't like the cashier's attitude and didn't want to give me the discount, then I showed her the photo on the hallway and she just made a noise like if she was annoyed, but who knows she could've had a bad day, that's why I gave it a 4 star....”

“This was the magnum opus of collectible stores. Have never been in a place like this, a safe haven in New York. Come here if you want to enjoy the good things in life.”
“I was recommended to come here and I found a cute Marine tshirt and this helmet bag! It is spacious and sturdy, I’ve used it as a laptop bag with all my essentials and also a gym bag. Excited to shop here again!”
“Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a fantastic collection of new and old comics. They also have a really great collection of collectibles in stock. They've also got a large collection of graded comics.”
“I love this store! I visit whenever I'm in NYC. They have a large selection of scientific specimens and natural world items. Skulls, gemstones, meteorites, aquatic items, fossils, and so much more. Anyone looking for interesting items for themselves or as a gift, should make it a point to go to the Evolution Store.”
“Great little shop that’s inside of mini mall where you can buy or sell genuine gold & silver coins and accessories, very good knowledgeable service by the owner, no pressure and no hassles, honest and reasonable valuation.”

“NYC's longest running board game & rpg shoppe (I think, my research is minimal on this) is literally floor to ceiling games. You can find not only new release, but titles from decades ago among it's packed shelves. This place is truly worth a visit when you are in Manhattan.”
“Staff are great. I needed some chalk markers, walked out with exactly what I needed plus a really awesome dot-by-letter book Michelle recommended. Lovely community feel no big chain store can give. Highly recommend this place!”

“The sign outside suggests this is either a Hare Krishna storefront or a first generation head shop. Don't be deceived. Inside is one of the hippest (and hippiest) stores in the Village.
True to their name, they have beads, lots of them, from plastic to semi-precious and in all price ranges. Ditto crystals, minerals, regional handicrafts from Mexico and India, beaded curtains, you name it.
They also have a few thousand holiday ornaments, with an emphasis on cultural icons past and present. Are there elves and Santas, sure. But you'll also find Taylor Swift ornaments, Wizard of Oz/Wicked ornaments. Puppies, cats, birds, Hindi gods, Tim Curry (as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), wica-themed things, Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royals, manga, the Golden Girls, tacos, Harry Styles, and hypodermic needles. Most are glass and in good taste; some of in decidedly bad taste (I wanted those most of all).
Because it's a little dusty in spots, it still gives a 1970's, "Whole Earth" vibe. Thankfully, the courteous staff (Candace helped me and she was a delight) brings a wholesome and helpful air to the place. I bought a Glinda the Good Witch and a Taylor Swift ornament but expect to go back for a Botox syringe.
If you've read my other reviews (i.e., More and More and John Derian) you know I'm huge a fan of great ornaments. This shop makes a worthy companion to those other two with very little overlap in the products they offer. I wish I'd stumbled in sooner.
Just for good measure, pick up a little Rose Quartz to help get your through the holidays (these are tough times, maybe a crystal will help).
Who is going to love it? Christmas freaks, jewelry people, yogis, fashionistas, drag queens, crafters, and the rest of the cool kids.”

“One of my favorite places in the whole world. An art store for the community run by artists ? Everyone always talks about places that are long since closed but I remember them all and A&C is like what if they were kind and welcoming, too.”
“My favorite board game store in the city! The play space is a bit small but it's manageable. The staff is top notch and the community is simply amazing!
They have most if not all of the popular board games as well as a selection of minis and paint supplies. They also have a good selection of rpg material and supplies!
If ever you find yourself close by, I highly recommend a quick browse!”
“It’s a nice store has a lot of options for crafts supplies. Definitely worth checking out. Staff is very helpful and they know their way around so they can quickly find things for you. I also recommend calling them before going to ask if they have what you’re looking for just to save you a trip. But if you’re just browsing and not sure what you want, definitely check it out.”
“Love book stores which are virtually a relic of the past. A nice place to spend some time browsing titles. I was looking for books for our grandchildren. I noticed it was a draw for some neighborhood seniors as a place to cool off on a hot summer day while reading up on some titles.”
“Went here a few months ago and was blown away by the spaciousness! Definitely more expensive than the other arcades and be prepared to spend more money. However, the merch and plushies are official and licensed, as far as I know this is the only arcade in flushing that does not have bootlegs so that may explain the higher price tag. I will say, I really liked the Lunar New Year promo they had and they should definitely have similar events more often to offset the difficulty and high cost-but at the same time, it's still skill and luck based!Machines are definitely harder, but ask employees for help! The last time we went, we were trying to win a derpy looking dinosaur, and it was very difficult (claw was too weak and plushie was very big and chubby) and the worker helped us reposition. The app did glitch and take away 2 tries for us that we weren't able to play, but the same worker helped us (I never got her name but she had glasses!). She was very encouraging and sweet and helped us win it!”
“Practically grew up here when it was a small shop located in the basement of Hong Kong Supermarket way inthe back right corner. A Flushing staple for the card game enthusiasts.”
“Tannen's shop is magical. Anyone who has made it to the 6th floor at number 45 and to door 608 will end up in a paradise for magicians. Hundreds of tricks are waiting behind the large counter to be demonstrated and purchased. There is also a whole library of magical literature on the shelves.”

“I gotta say this place is a time capsule it has really cool old school trucks, trains, busses, boats, planes and anime stuff too like Gundum star track star wars etc... and the old man is really cool... soo go there and show some love.”
“This review is in memory of my father Rick who passed away one week ago from today, Father's Day. Fountain Pen Hospital brought my father a lot of joy and he worked closely with the previous owners who were dear friends. I have many beautiful pens gifted to me from my father from here that I cherish.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, and I highly recommend it to you. The staff takes their time to assist you and provides comprehensive information to ensure your satisfaction.”
“The frame I ordered from Amazon arrived broken so I came to Blick. Shout-out to Oz who patiently help me choose the right frame and helped me set it up correctly. Much appreciated!”
“Awesome store! Hosts a lot of community events, and has a great collection of board games-- helped me pick a copy of something I was missing day-of. Staff was super friendly.”
“Cool game store. Really nice dudes at front counter and very courteous. Be advised NO WARHAMMER and no model glue. They have paint but again it’s not Citadel. However, lots of board games and play space in the rear. Seems cool but needs the 40K to make me a common.”

“Brooklyn Hobbies offers a fantastic selection of RC-related products and accessories. Their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer any questions you may have. They even have a full-sized mini RC track in the basement, where you can test out your new purchases. Richard, is a great resource and will guide you through the process of selecting the perfect RC for your needs. I’m thrilled to have a brick-and-mortar RC Hobby store in our neighborhood. Keep up the excellent work Guys!”
“It’s a dime in a dozen to find a unique shop like this in New York. It truly is wonderful that there are beautiful shops like this one dedicated to crafts like knitting and sewing. I was in complete awe when I entered this shop. Everything was so beautiful! I loved all the rainbow of colors of the fabrics and yarn. I loved there was wall to wall of yarn in so many vibrant colors. I spent a lot of time looking at the fabrics and their beautiful colors and patterns. I was imagining all the projects I can for my home using all those fabrics. I loved that the shop had cute items for home decor. The shop even had all the tools needed for sewing and knitting. From scissors to thread to measuring tape. I also spent a lot of time looking at the sewing books and project books the shop carries. The shop offers all kinds of sewing and knitting classes. The best thing about this shop is that everything is excellent quality. Everyone should visit this shop.”

“It has oil and acrylic paints, a variety of brushes and various plastic arts, including frames ready for your paintings, as well as various materials that can be sublimated and equipment to personalize clothing and accessories. I bought Windsor & Newton Acrylics, which are what I use in my paintings.”
“Can't say anything bad about them. I had a client call and order over the phone and it was available for a smooth and clean pickup the same day. I can always find what I need and they have multiple NYC locations (and a very user-friendly website) just in case you can't find what you need. I even picked up a compact drawing board for myself. The staff was so friendly and approachable that it was an easy sale.”
“Experience was amazing the owner helped me with everything I needed and went through all of the products throughly with me. 100% recommend and must visit for all your card needs.”
“Amazing place to shop around for cards, sleeves, binders, etc. Owner is very welcoming and down to Earth, and above all has an amazing personality/ sense of humor!!”
“My 89 yr old mother got stuck in the elevator at the Michaels on Metropolitan Ave on Friday afternoon . When she got out the on duty manager made sure that she was ok and provided a place to sit and water. He also rode down with her when we had finished shopping as she was uneasy going alone . (I am claustrophobic, and that day's incident really convinced me that I did not want to be in that elevator lol.) the store is nice, but I'm impressed me most was the personal care we received that day.”
