So pleased with the awesome haircuts my grandsons received at this Smartstyle location. The boys are ages 1.5,3,and 5. Cheryl and her daughter, that also works there, gave great little boy haircuts and they were wonderful with them. We were so pleased. The stylists were also wanting to make sure we were pleased with the cuts. Highly recommend this shop. Couldn’t be more pleased with the service they provided.Service: Kids' cuts

I love going there to get my hair done. Cheryl is the best! All the girls are. I won’t go anywhere else to get my hair done or eyebrows.

I Wanted a specific style and was told they could do it. Ericia was "the only one that knew how to do the style". But after showing her the picture of the style she still insisted she knew how to do it. She ended up chopping my hair. I left and returned the next day to get a refund, only to be told that they don't do refunds only redo's. Like I said no one else knew how to do it and why would I trust another person from the same salon knowing they already told me they don't do that style. I slept on it and went to Rte 9 Walmart and once again someone told me Melissa can do it. I showed Melissa the pic of the style I wanted and explained that it wasn't cut properly the 1st time. Melissa cut it and it was the same if not worse than before. I lost it , I cried and told the manager that I was not happy and I wanted her to contact the owner and I wanted a refund. On their receipt it states that they guarantee customer satisfaction of services with 7 days. Well I tried their way and the outcome wasn't pretty. The regional/owner of Smartstyles refused to refund me. And was nasty about it. And simple told me she will not refund me, and that I have unrealistic expectations of her salon and that I'm "banned from her salons". ?Another words their guarantee doesn't mean a thing. As long as they get paid that's all they care about.Extremely poor customer service ,And I hope you read this and stay clear of her smartstyle salons. If anyone one is interested I have the rude email from Jessica Ravishing the regional/ owner of Smartstyles in Queensbury NY.??????????Obviously she doesn't care about her salon reputation.Service: Haircut

I never leave reviews... but boy oh boy... this experience was something else. So here goes... I scheduled an appointment online yesterday for 1pm. I didn’t have a specific hairdresser that I wanted, as I rarely (maybe once every 2 years) get my hair cut. I scheduled a wash, cut and blow dry. I had pictures of what I wanted. When I walked in, a few minutes early, I was “greeted” by a voice asking what I needed. There were 2 hairdressers working, and neither of them got up and walked over to greet me, but instead yelled it from behind the wall, from the chair they were sitting in, I couldn’t even see where the voice came from. One of them came over once I told her I had scheduled an appointment for 1pm. Her name was Andrea. She looked up the appointment on the computer and confirmed what I was there for. She then had me go over to the sink and proceeded to wash my hair, all the while chitchatting with her co-worker about deposits from work. As she finished washing my hair, she asked what I was looking to get. My hair was pretty long, almost to the bottom of my back. I had some pretty bad dead ends, so I told her that I was looking to get about 6 inches cut off, and that I had a picture. She was very thrilled to hear that I wanted to get that much cut off, as it needed it. The other hairdresser agreed and said that I was the “ideal client” for coming in requesting a wash, wanting a significant amount cut off, and having a picture. I moved from the sink to the chair. She did not ask me for the picture and started brushing my hair out. Once she got it all untangled, she was ready to cut. The other hairdresser mentioned to her that when she has someone with longer hair, she has them stand up to make sure the cut is in the correct spot, Andrea said since my hair was so long, and went over the majority of the back of the chair, that was not necessary. Andrea then picked up a strand of my hair and asked if the spot was good to cut. I wasn’t really able to tell how much she was cutting so I asked to see. I said it could probably be a little shorter, but that I didn’t not want it any shorter than “armpit length”. She had yet to ask me for my example picture. She began cutting, and cutting, and cutting… All the while still chitchatting with her coworker, this time about Taco Bell, then on to Xbox and games. I figured since I had told her how much length I wanted cut (about 6” but no shorter than my armpits) she would ask to see the example picture around this point. Once she finished cutting the length to be even all the way around, she asked if I wanted it even or something else. At this point, I reminded her I had a picture of what I wanted to which she replied “oh yeah, you never showed me the picture”. I proceeded to show her what I wanted. It was basically a little shorter than what I had walked in with, with long layers added. (I will include pictures with this) At this, she said “oh... so you want some long layers?” I confirmed. She went on cutting and cutting…. and cutting. By the time she was done, my hair was to my shoulders. It felt MUCH healthier, but I wasn’t sure on the length as I did say SIX INCHES. She asked if I wanted it blow dried straight. I said “yes, that is how I usually wear my hair”. She finished my hair, told me to run my hands through it. I said “it feels much healthier”. She did not ask me if I liked it, she did not show me the back. She only had me run my fingers through it to see how it felt. I proceeded to the register and paid. I got out to my vehicle and really took a look. It is MUCH MUCH shorter than what I had asked for. I went home and messed around with it to see what I can make work. It is nothing like I wanted, and I can barely style it. It took me almost 2 years to grow to the length I walked in with, and at that time my hair wasn’t even this short. I understand that hair is a little shorter when dried compared to wet, I also have pretty curly hair, so that also makes it appear even shorter, but wet dry, straight or curly… my hair is shoulder length. Needless to say, I am VERY unhappy
