It was definitely an experience I wish I could forget. Between almost robbed by the staff twice, bike vandalized, had the cops called on me because they lied and said I was a danger to my child after I realized they were not trying to help me get an apartment, and I told them we were leaving( we were there 11 months). They were mostly unprofessional, impatient, and will do things purposely to stress the families. They lied about my package coming in, and I just called on a different day with a different person who confirmed its been there. I'm very pleasant by nature and to deal with the number of nasty people who are just there to take when we came in because our situation was very desperate. They helped nothing. I needed therapy from going here. My caseworker was the worst one because he did next to nothing but wanted to call the cops when I had an appointment with the housing specialist but instead wanted to write me up for finding an unused crackpot in my closet, that was gifted from family. Purposely calling me at the same time as my appointment and all. This place just can't be trusted.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone even get sent here. The fact renovations are being done while families have children is beyond me. Also the fact that staff isn’t very helpful and don’t actually care is crazy. You won’t find the help or resources needed from this location take them of the list .

Typical NYC waste of funding and careless staff employed. Shelter only accepts in Manhattan. Homeless have no idea how to get there or means of doing so. Keep up the useless ineffective system…..

I've seen mixed reviews about this place. I've never been there but by the phone call I just made I never will. I called to make a donation and the guy on the phone picked up already annoyed, spoke low and there was alot of craziness in the background. I'm going to salvation army instead. ?

Hotel is a family shelter. Supposedly under renovation but conditions are subpar. Rugs are gross and the walls are disgusting, patched, discolored and drawn on. Keycards dont work and no hot water for a week! The amount of money these shelters are paid to house people its ashame they are this bad.

I had to stay here for a few months, left recently, and unfortunetely, this place is a DISASTER. This place should be run by 2 people, namely Mr. Chris and Ms. Chandler, and they are driving this place off a cliff. Ms. Chandler comes to work to gossip with her friends and not do any work, I've seen here do it in the office while other social workers were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to actually get stuff done. Mr. Chris thinks he's the King of the Hill but he's lost perspective a long time ago. There are some employees there tht work hard and put in the effort, but it's just not enough, there's hundreds of people staying there and they all need help. All good employees are leaving, the place is super understaffed, nobody wants to put up with the management anymore. I'm still in touch with 1 or 2 people there and I'm finding out that COVID is spreading like wildfire. It's a sinking ship and somebody needs to investigate this place.
