I wanted to stay near the sea to swim, but unfortunately it didn’t work out, the area is bad, there are a group of men everywhere, it’s not advisable to walk alone, it’s very scary, the hotel doesn’t seem bad, my room was good, the bed was clean and the toilet was clean, normal for the price, maybe smoking should be banned in the room, everyone decides for themselves what is best, the area itself is very dangerous and bad. take care of yourself, everyone decides for themselves what is best.

We asked for a nonsmoking room… the whole place smells like cigarettes, bathroom was nasty, it would have been better to sleep at the airport.

Me & my family's flight got cancelled. i booked a room at Hotel Mint the last minute through Expedia. We checked in but found out how disgusting the place & the room were. The room smelled smoke & weed. Loud crying kids next door then a man banging so loud at the door across our room yelling "open the f___door!" repeatedly. Complained at the front desk about the horrendous smell because my mom is old & has asthma but said no more available room to transfer us. A guy (not wearing ID or uniform) came in to the room and sprayed a strong smelling perfume and said that it will take the smell out. We left the hotel because we were scared (shady place) & my mom couldn't take the smell. Did not get refund because Expedia said it's non-refundable. very unacceptable! Dont be deceived by the nice photos & cheaper price offered by this hotel online. If I can rate 0 star I would. Huge mistake of booking here because we had a terrible experience. i wasnt able to take pics because we were very tired & stressed out to look for another hotel before sun down.

Based on the name, I expected it to be closer to JFK. It is close to 50 minutes away by train. It is VERY close to the train though, which is nice.

Awful experience. Needed an overnight stay. Booked this motel through Booking.Com. Looked reputable. Ha!! When I arrived, motel surrounded by intoxicated individuals either high on drugs and/or drunk. I entered the motel to request a refund. There appeared to be people residing at the motel. Looked like a shelter! Management refused my refund. Booking.Com returned their fees to my account. Horrible advertisement and a very dangerous place to stay. Keep away!!! Management, hope you use my money and fix the place up!

Liked that it was across the street from Far Rockaway train station. Beyond that one plus ... Nothing else of merit.Non guests would come in to use the WiFi and bring their dramas with them. Several somewhat hostile!Rooms were noisy. Zero service! Bedsheet but no bed cover. No towels I had to ask. Key card need to be renewed daily!!!Exiting hotel was bizarre. Main floor was blocked to exit via elevator. ... $&@+#-)$@!!!

Needed A Place Close To JFK Airport To Make An Extremely Early Flight. All Hotels Were Ridiculously Expensive. Hotel Mint Is 20 Minutes From JFK-So I Booked It For One Night. Totally Underperforms With A Sinister Vibe. Everybody Seemed Upset To Be Here. Hallways Smell Like Piss. I Was Quite Surprised That Once I Got Past The Stinky Hallway To Check Out The Room Before I Agreed To Stay Here----The Room I Stayed In Was Actually Quite Clean, Spacious With A Mini-Fridge And Windows That Opened.I Stay In Hotels All Over The World All The Time And This Place Would Be So Much Better With A Paint Job And Upgrading Hallway Carpet.Absolutely No Parking. The Back View From The Window Are Looks Like A Desolate Abandoned War Apocalyptic Aftermath.Door Lock Is Missing The Latch!!!!!No Blanket- But Sheets Are CleanReally Needs Plants And To Paint Decrepit Concrete.Place Could Be Nice With Some Easy Upgrades- Like Plants And Some Disinfectant Spray For The Hallways. You Probably Should Stay Somewhere Else....And Management Should Get Their Act Together

STAY AWAY! The whole place was super dirty and reeked of cigarettes. There were hotel rooms missing doors and were boarded down and garbage all over the hallway. Not only were there roaches in the bathroom sink, I woke up the next morning to a bedbug under me and multiple of bites all over me. When I complained to management about my stay they refused to compensate me. I don’t recommend staying here at all especially for the price unless you are desperate.

This “hotel” is in an awful location, reeks of marijuana, the rudest “service” ever. The lady at the front desk didn’t even acknowledge me when I checked in. Very dirty and disgusting, located in a very sketchy area. Do not travel here alone, especially if you are a single woman. Avoid this property at all costs. I booked via Expedia and tried getting a refund due to safety concerns, terrible service, the elevator not working, and the AC not working and the hotel didn’t let me get any refund at all. Also, the “hotel” is a lot further to the JFK airport than advertised. Stay very far away from here.
