I wish this had existed when I lived in Rego Park since it's right off the main drag of Forest Hills. In fact, I remember the days when there was no Five Below at all in NYC so this was a nice random find. Now it's definitely not as nice and doesn't seem to have as much as the location in Manhattan or maybe even the one in Long Island City but the staff was friendly and helpful though very much a presence as I was merely browsing to get a feel for the selection and what might be different from the stock in Manhattan or Long Island City. I didn't see any of the 50 cent water bottles so that was a letdown but I did get a needed phone charging cord that still works. Five Below in general has increased prices and I have less need for items there so it's not been the same for me as in years past but if you need a phone charging cord or some candy bars you can't find so easily (like Mallow Cups) then it's definitely worth the trip.

Usually a great experience. How ever today I had an experience which felt more like I was being accosted by a store associate. There’s an associate at this particular location, male, about 6’2 tattoos on his arm, wears all black and dark eye brows; he needs to be retrained on talking to customers at the self checkout station. First he became very hostile and deffensive as though I was an intruder for having issues with the wand which wasn’t working. Then after offering no help what so ever but instead staring me down, making me feel very uncomfortable, he started demanding that I pay for a bag which I was reaching in my purse to do so. Upon telling him this, he started accusing me of stealing, screaming at him and being hostile. This sort of antagonistic confrontation is more suited for a prison guard and not a store associate who is suppose to provide friendly and welcoming customer service. We shouldn’t have to feel like criminals for purchasing an item at a store the way this associate has done.

This place is great, and the staffs are amazing, i meant some, the manager is very mean, he yelled at kids, made a mess in on of the aisle and when i tried to get in there he refused in a very disrespectful way

Went to 5 Below on a Saturday morning for birthday balloons, an employee Steven was able to blow up the balloons for me on the spot! He was extremely helpful and kind :) definitely get your balloons from 5 below! They have so many to choose from.

Always liked 5 B stores. Lately coming here even more. Very good prices, very good service, alright options to chose from.

Nice except that theres this one employee thats overly extraverted and makes the shopping experience really awkward. As an introvert, I do not appreciate random people saying “welcome back.” I’m just trying to shop for snacks.

I went to two different five below stores, jamaica Ave and forest Hills 71st Ave. Both were clean organized and well stocked. The have all the old candies you can only find online, books for kids and adults, blank journals, games small household items and too much more to list. Best of all everything is really $5 or less!

There's always some disorganized pile but there are loads of fun stuff to find and candy to try. I go here to re-stock my candy stash. Prices are great too.

Yet another upgraded dollar store that profits from low wage labor in China and developing nations. This is the poor man's Toys R' Us and the toy equivalent of H&M and Forever 21. Instead of "fast fashion," it's "fast toys." The cute cat pajamas I bought from here started falling apart a few hours after I wore them and the earbuds promptly died within 3 days after purchase. Like Primark, Target and other questionable brands, quality is poor but the company worked out some kind of deal with designers to peddle cheaper versions of brand name items without violating copyright. So you'll see Pusheen the Cat, Star Wars, Hello Kitty and other recognizable brands slapped onto low end merchandise. Even Barbie is there, albeit it's the lowest end Barbie items possible. All the board games are scaled down, travel versions. The candy aisle (10 for a dollar) is the only bargain I see - everything else has "future landfill item" written all over it. I feel sorry for any kid whose parent is too poor to buy them birthday presents from anywhere else. Sadly, the US is so addicted to cheap stuff that places like this are unavoidable.

I went to buy some quick items but the micro managing me was overly at check out. Meanwhile in the elevator another non black customer accidentally walked out with items he didn’t buy. Yet watching me super hard. Do better!!!!! Stop profiling people and watch all the customers.

What a great experience at this five below. As soon as I walk in this person, say hi, welcome to five below. Then continues to ask me if I need any help. Please feel free, then tell me his name is Steven. I felt valued as a customer and found what I was looking for. This is what customer service looks like. I found my new five below. It's a little out my way, but if I'm going to get this kind of service, it's worth it.
