Went at 4:50 pm wanting to play for an hour (sun goes down at 7:09 tonight, more than enough time) and the staff refused to let me go out. There were other golfers on the course. Kissena would have let me out, I will be going there for my twilight 9 from now on instead.

It's a decent course, but it looks like they need to make some repairs to some of the tee boxes, greens, and fairways, and they have to fix holes 1 and 4 because they tend to flood a bit after it rains. Other than that, it's a good course

NYC-owned scenic track with challenging Par 3 and Par 4 holes[10] Course notes: This was formerly a private track; Some greens including hole # 7 were in bad shape w/ barely any grass in certain areas about 8x8 feet wide.[11] Course notes: Greens were benign with no multiple level areas or severe breaks.[12] Course notes: I was thrilled hitting shots over water on two very challenging and uphill Par 3 holes over 170 yards away with water in play (front water hazard).[16] Course notes: Parkland style course with benign rough was a significant factor to offset my low FIR and better than average scrambling.[17] Course notes: The views of the Long Island Sound and Throgs Neck Bridge from a high point in the golf course were spectacular and definitely adds to the unique golf experience.[18] Course notes: Several tee boxes were under repair and at least 5 fairways had large bare patches or huge patches of weeds growing.[21] Restrooms were clean and updated.[22] Walker friendly with minimal areas that were cordoned-off. Elevation changes were not too extreme for push carts[23] Practice areas were limited to putting green only. No driving range on site. Offsite driving range 2.5 miles away charges $11/ small bucket, too expensive for my budget.[24] Pro Shop sells sandwiches, cold drinks and coffee.Overall, I may come back and play this track again

My original review: "I was driving on the to get on the bridge and a stupid golf ball bounced onto the highway and almost hit me. Your establishment needs to be more careful about this! SUPER CARELESS!" recently got flagged because it doesn't "give a first hand review as a customer." The highway is right next to the golf course and it was my first hand experience that the golf ball almost hit me. I reached out to the place about it and they could not have cared less.

Course is a complete dump. $80+ for unputtable greens that look like they’ve never been touched by a grounds crew. Pace of play was atrocious took 6 hours for 18. Seriously don’t play here

Nice layout. Except course is in horrible condition. Some of the greens are un-puttable.Numerous tee boxes under construction. The whole course feels like there is clay right below your feet. The rangers also have no clue what they are doing. 5 hour round.

Wish Google has minus star ratings.Men have to play from the red tee because the blue and white tee boxes are under construction (forever). Greens have weed growing. Other groups just pick up your golf ball and steal it. Ranger just sits around and does nothing.Had low to no expection coming here and they managed somehow beat it.

Its like bethpage black but 100x worse. Everyones watching on the first tee but it’s because they’re backed up 2 hours.

I will never play this course again. The crew was rude, the course was swarmed with thousands of hornets, and the tee boxes were under construction in the middle of July without a warning. It’s one thing if the tee boxes are under construction, but they didn’t even fix up any area to tee off. Course was destroyed as well. Never again.

One of the course rangers named Joy is a very horrible middle aged woman who harasses teenagers. She is unfair, horrible, irrational, and unprofessional. My friend and I who are 18 and 16 respectively were kicked off the course by this woman on hole 15. For no reason she assumed we teed off at noon when we had teed off at 4:30. She proceeded to prevent us from teeing off and forced us to play holes 17 and 18 WHILE TRAILING US and to get off the course. While we were on hole 18 she drove back to the pro shop and watched us from the window to make sure we finished. Despite being able to check the system for proof of our integrity she continued to insist that we had teed off at noon and were taking advantage of the course. She is a total nut job. Refuses to listen to reason and continues to lie. By far the most unprofessional distasteful treatment I have ever received on a golf course. This is not how you treat paying customers, let alone children.

The greens are in horrible conditions. The fairways are complete trash. The workers there are so rude and unhelpful. Save your money to play at a better course.

Hard to play golf on a course where there’s practically just dirt. The course is in terrible condition and the staff here was incredibly rude and were creative in finding additional ways to charge us money. Will never be back and would not recommend this to anyone.

Poorly maintained. Bring a cordless drill to drill a hole fir your tee. Fairways are burnt out and it's only June. Way overpriced. $80+ fir a round with a cart. I can play Forest Park or Douglaston for less money and better maintained course. It's no wonder we could get a tee time when other courses were booked.
