Very Rude, stoped by to ask if i can get my state inspection done and the representative i asked just plain said NO! Not, i would need an appointment or come back another time we are too busy, just plain no, im pretty sure they do state inspections just not sure why not mine.

Steve and his team did a great job with a complex steering issue I recently had with my Jeep. After taking it to a few other local shops who weren't able to diagnose or fix the problem, Steve was able to quickly identify the issue and fix it. Been back to their shop a couple more times since then and have always been happy with their work!

I just called up to make an appointment to get my Vespa inspected; it is considered a motorcycle given its speed (aka top speed is 60+ miles per hour and surpasses the low speed vehicle classification A) The guy who picked up the phone mansplained, laughed at me, and puffed his ignorant chest while telling me what constitutes a motorcycle. In case you want to know the answer: His motorcycle constitutes a motorcycle. I said thanks anyway and hung up. Yes- there really are people like this out there.

Fyi, This business has no towing on premises and no relationship with a tow company. We planned to use this business again, but we are hesitant now. We've taken 10 or more cars between the members of our family over the last 20 years. There are many places to take your car to and you want to have a good relationship with a competent mechanic who at least understands a little about service and to a degree accepts that you're worth his time to talk to about setting up a repair. We did had a working relationship, I thought. We would call a tow truck ourselves, but Pound Ridge Auto gave us the bum's rush when we asked for their help. The man who answered the phone today did not identify himself and tried to divert us to another shop 8 miles further away- it seemed that he didn't want to help us this week, next, or the one after that. The car could not be driven because of power steering issues and the towing cost much more to go 8 miles further. That's part 1.Part 2Go here if you choose, as they are able to do the work- but it's very overpriced and really only good if you want to give them $1000s for repairing your car AND be treated with disrespect, intolerance, and impatience next time. This demeanor extends to return customers like us; today the man hung up on us while we were still trying to get him to understand the car problem. He said the reason was that he didn't like how we were talking to him. Then when we called back because we still wanted to try to get it fixed- his timing not our own- he just picked up the receiver to make it stop ringing and left it off the hook without speaking, leading to a busy line for others to call. He was willing to cut off ALL communication for several minutes to ALL of his customers on his only phone line just to send us a message. Message received. Red flag. For multiple $1000s in repairs invested in this place, yes, believe that we want to receive at least the courtesy that anyone else would receive. I spoke calmly and courteously but did not get the same in return. Sad that we didn't invest all that money and time into other mechanics instead.Services: Vehicle Inspection

Keith and Steve are the BEST. Totally trustworthy and very thorough. I bring all of my cars to them for inspections, oil changes, brakes, alignment, etc. Never disappointed. I once had a Jeep where the battery kept dying and was told by multiple mechanics it is too difficult to figure out which fuse is causing the drain. They fixed the problem in a few hours. They know what they are doing and are great guys!

Honestly I would give them zero stars if I could. My trusted mechanic in Pound Ridge retired a few years ago and sold the business, so I've been searching for a good mechanic for awhile. A friend recommended PR Auto so I gave them a try. I knew my suburban needed new brakes, and my a/c also went on the fritz. Keith left me a message saying the car would be done later in the afternoon and that the oil was due to be changed so he went ahead and did it - without my permission. Not a huge deal as I would have told them to go ahead- I just didn't like that they didn't ask first. Couple days later I'm headed out on a major road trip to Florida and I glance down and see that my oil pressure gauge is reading 0. I try tapping on it to see if it was just stuck there but there's plastic in front of the gauges that sits a couple inches in front of the dials so that didn't work at all. (This is relevant stay with me...). I decide I need to pull over and check the oil, since I had just had the oil changed and it's possible they removed the oil and didn't replace it. I stopped and checked the oil and sure enough it's just about empty! The dipstick had less than a 1/4" of oil on the bottom of the stick. I called and left them a message, it was too early and they weren't open yet. I headed back with the intention of going straight to them. Keith called me back at 8:30 when they opened but I was about to pull into their lot. I explained what happened and that I need them to check what's going on. He was very strange on the phone. When I got there he starts telling me it must be the switch and points at a Tahoe next to where I parked and says he just had to replace the switch in that one too. Switch? What switch? You would think he would have gotten out a voltmeter to see if the switch was bad - did something diagnostic but no. He just told me very strangely he was sure it was the switch then walked away leaving me standing there. I had my dog in the car and the car was packed to the gills with stuff for FL. I waited for about 10 -15 mins then finally went to find him and said so what are you doing? He looked at me like I had two heads and said well I need to order the part you gave to leave it here. I explained I don't have a ride (duh I'm there alone with my dog!) and he just kind of shrugged at me. No offer for a ride home 5 mins away, that apparently isn't what they do here. I told him I'd have to come back at 1 when I had a ride. Brought the car back at 1. Got a call a couple hours later saying "I put a new switch in and it still didn't work. But you know, I took it for a test drive and I tapped on the gauge and it moved a little. As I drove it would move up then back, so I wouldn't be surprised if it worked itself out." I never told him I had checked the oil. When I came to pick up my car he didn't charge me (thankfully) and lo and behold when I turned the car on, the oil pressure gauge jumped off to life as it should: when I got home I checked the oil and sure enough it was full. Keith LIED to me on the phone, to my face and on the phone about what the issue was. He kept my car ALL DAY so he could pretend to be troubleshooting it when in fact it took him all of 2 mins to pour oil into the engine. Do not bring your vehicle here these guys are the absolute worst. They assumed I was a clueless woman and wouldn't know any better. Worse is had I ignored the gauge my engine could have burned up. Unbelievable. **update response to PR Auto- the oil level was empty, not just down a quart. That is pure BS. I didn't take a picture of the dipstick but I shouldn't have to. Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I don't know how to check the oil or replace it, tyvm. You physically can't tap on the gauge as I said because of the plastic which is several inches away from the gauge. The gauge was down to zero and not moving because there was almost no oil in the engine. If you added an additional quart, why did

I had a headlight burn out on my fiat. Stopped in, unannounced, and he had it replaced and fixed for under 30 bucks in less than 5 minutes. I was dreading going to the dealership, waiting, paying, but not here. If you have a car need, don't drive by. I bet these guys can save you time and money on the spot. Not that I'm hoping for a big repair, but at least I know who to call. Touch wood.
