My two sons have been Sylvan students for the past few years in both after school enrichment and summer camp. Their summer camp offers a variety of different activities to keep them engaged while learning new concepts and ideas - great for keeping their minds active during the summer lull. My younger son has really improved in his reading comprehension over the last 2 years. Lisa and Wing really make the effort to tailor the enrichment best suited for my boys. Highly recommend!!

My daughter was in Pre-K (5 years old) when we enrolled her into the Sylvan. She was wasn't very happy entering a new school/new class (actual school setting) and every time we would go over her work, she didn't have the self confidence or want to answer us. So we knew she would need some one-on-one tutoring, not only to help her learn but we wanted to build up her confidence so that she can enjoy learning and being in school. When we toured the center, we were very impressed with how well the areas were set up and you really can see and even sense by just listening how much engagement there is between the tutor and the staff. Our daughter has been so happy since being enrolled and we really do see a progress within weeks and her teacher has even mentioned within the next term how surprised she was by the growth she has seen in both education and confidence and we really do believe that Sylvan played a big role in that. We even continued to keep my daughter in the tutoring for the summer in addition to putting her in the STEM program. To this day, we can hear her repeating some of the learning exercises she has learned and that really make us happy. I rarely leave reviews but Sylvan Learning in Port Washington definitely deserves one. If you are looking to see actual results in your child, I highly, highly recommend you check them out.

I have two kids who’s in Sylvan program for as long as I remember. The kids did more when Covid pandemic started. I’d say no regret at all for doing it. My kids never lost learning time. In fact, they are two grades above their current grade with the help of Sylvan. The kids love attending their robotics and engineering STEM enrichment courses as well and look forward to attending their School is Out workshops. It is great working with the owners and their staff!

My daughter has been going to Sylvan Port Washington after school for two years now. I had her start in the fifth grade, as I thought that she could use some help with writing and math skills, especially after the pandemic. She loved going so much, we decided she would continue to help her with the transition to middle school. She is now at Weber, and goes to Sylvan three days a week after school for homework help, as well as help preparing for any upcoming school tests. The investment has paid off and more, as she is managing the heavier workload very well. Importantly, I believe the discipline and focus has helped her build academic motivation and confidence. Lisa, Wing, jill and Anthony are supportive and engaged with the students and address their needs on an individual basis. I would fully recommend Sylvan of Port Washington - as it has had a positive impact from our experience.

Amazing place with great owners and amazing teachers. Definitely a great place to send your children if they are struggling in school or to keep them ahead and on top of their learning.

My two boys have been going to Sylvan since they first opened their doors. My older one benefited from their PSAT prep courses. My younger one focused on math and writing which helped in keeping up with school work as well as preventing summer slide. Lisa and Wing take the time to really understand the students and their specific needs. The tutors are excellent and both my boys developed great working relationships. Their summer camps offer a variety of engaging activities for little ones and my older son enjoyed helping out at camp. Highly recommend if you are looking for extra support for your child or getting your child ahead.

I started sending my older child to Sylvan at PW since summer of 2017; started with STEM camp and repeated every summer. Our child loved it so much that eventually she requested to be enrolled for academics program. That was truly amazing because rarely would a young child request this (2nd grade at the time)! She loved all the activities (STEM, robotics, academics including math, reading and writing). I also send them to Sylvan during the winter breaks as they are available for extended hours and have great activities for the children.Lisa and Wing are extremely dedicated owners that care about delivering proper education to their students. They are also very caring toward all the children and are so down-to-earth, always easy to talk to with any concerns or questions. I highly recommend this learning center to anyone interested in excelling or reinforcing their child's studies.

It's been few months since my kids started their robotics class at sylvan. I was at first a bit hesitant due to school being a chain/franchise, thinking the curriculum is rigidly set. But, every project has been perfectly geared to their interests. Pros: 1. great teacher-student ratio (immediate attention if needed) 2. enthusiastic directors with great communication 3. family/comfortable vibe, 4. open space with plenty of viewing windows, and 5. my kids look forward to this class!

Have 2 young boys going to the robotics class. Kids really enjoy it and look forward to coming. Teachers are dedicated and passionate. Facility is clean and bright.

Lisa and Wing are fantastic educators. My 1st grader loved attending the full day vacation STEM camp. Their curriculum engages the students with hands on learning and activities that feel like play. My daughter is begging to go back. A great alternative to day care for school holidays.

Sylvan Port Washington is great Lisa and Wing are truly the best! My son Mason has been going there for a little over a year and its amazing how much he has improved in his reading and writing. I also send both my boys there for their stem camps and they love it. Highly recommended!!

My son, a rising 4th grader, participated in the 2 week program aimed at preventing the ‘summer slide’. He does not like to write and this class is aimed to get him writing better. I was impressed that their approach engaged my son and he did not complain about attending- 2 hours a day for 2 weeks during the summer. He even asked about their full day stem programs! They are also flexible with make ups and we will be able to make up one of the classes we are unable to attend.

My kids have been coming to Sylvan at Port Washington for the past two years for vacation camps and summer camps. They always have fun with the different projects and tech toys.
