It's hard to understand how the biggest bank in the United States is also the worst but a quick stop into the Chase branch in downtown Port Jefferson helps us understand. It's understaffed, the service is terrible, and it often seems like the employees just don't want you to be there. I've occasionally had a friendly staff member but it's certainly an exception to the rule. Their app is great but aside from the ATM, it's pointless to enter- I'd rather keep my money in a can buried in my my backyard.

With them 25 years. I guess it means they are good.Sometimes they stick too much to details. But thank got only once in a blue moon.

Cannot imagine a worse banking experience. Long waits, tellers who are rude and unhelpful...and supervisors even worse! So the lack of customer service is institutional. Not just a few bad apples. Think you can call on the phone and get something done? Plan on being on the phone for OVER AN HOUR before anyone human even answers. Just to dish out the same bad attitude you get at the branch.

Do not do business with this bank. CHASE Main Street, Port Jefferson. After receiving damage to my home in a recent storm I received an insurance check to hire contractors .After depositing the check the first time we had a duplicate check returned to us explaining it needed further endorsement for the check to clear , nothing more! We re-deposited the check with proper legal endorsement. The bank released 200 dollars the first day and the rest was to be available 2 days after. We get an email the day it should have been released stating they have closed the account. Went to the bank in person and were treated like criminals by the rude bank manager . Nothing was done to resolve the problem after using this bank for years. They would not give us a copy of the check again or release the freeze on the acccount. So after a month of waiting for this money to fix our home we have to go through the entire process including waiting for mortgage endorsement again which takes a minimum of 2 weeks . This is an active account we pay bills automatically from and receive direct deposit for paychecks It is now Thanksgiving eve ...we will get no paycheck..the pseg bill will bounce and water is starting to come through our roof. We did everything we were told to do and this was the result. Discusting customer service any day of the year no less during the holidays.

The 24/7 ATM in the front hall smells like an animal died !! Nasty smell that you could throw up. Been like that for a while , last night had to be the absolute worst! Chase , have it fixed please. Can't stand to go in there anymore.
