“I ordered 2 oval matte black closet rods after measuring the distance between the walls myself and when they arrived one was a bit short. (They ask you to measure exact distance between the walls and they'll send the correct length rod) Unfortunately I was off by 1/4" (walls are not plumb) and that meant I got the wrong size rod. I called and they told me they would send another rod whatever length I wanted as long as I paid shipping. I thought that was very fair and the new rod arrived 2 days later and fits perfectly.”

The store is clean and the staff is extremely helpful without being condescending. (as a woman, I often find this not to be the case at other Home Depot locations). Specifically Jay and Sal were very helpful. Other employees we walked past either asked us if we needed help or just pleasantly greeted us.”

“I love our local Ace Hardware. Everyone welcomes me like I am going there to see my friends. Everyone knows my name which is remarkable because my memory is horrible and can't remember anyone! It's true, you can go in there and buy lawn furniture, paint, and birthday cards! Every employee seems to know exactly where everything is, and when possible, they bring me to the aisle where they insect repellent is! Maybe prices are a bit higher than Home Depot, but it's not always about the money, it's for the Customer Service they provide every time I go in! I highly recommend this Ace Hardware Store.”

“I order some specialized hardware from Guden (Camloc cam-stays). I was incredibly annoyed with Guden's order flow process. Guden doesn't provide estimated shipping costs until after you submit your order and they process it, so you're kind of at the mercy of whatever shipping costs they tally up after you click all of the "I acknowledge" and "I agree" boxes....My order was for 6 units for around $60 and when I got the order confirmation my total was $140. I had researched and selected the cheapest shipping method possible of the available shipping methods they listed. I believe it was FedEx Ground....and with another competitor vendor that DID provide shipping estimates, I was expecting a charge of around $11. But I was charged over $70 for shipping. Apparently, my shipping method was changed in error to FedEx 2nd Day Air for $70+.I reached out to Guden support very annoyed and they acknowledged their error and provided excellent customer support and gave me a refund to my CC for the difference in my originally selected shipping method and the 2nd Day Air cost. So they ate the cost and provided great customer service.Other than the strange lack of shipping estimates/costs during checkout, great company to work with!”
