This was almost a year ago but I had gotten a Groupon to come here and get a cut and color. I have gone before in the past and had OK experiences. The time before this, I had gotten a blow out but the lady who was doing my hair continuously burned my head as she blow dried it. Her reasoning was because my hair was thick and it needed the hottest setting to dry it. After making the appointment I was very excited for something different. However when I went there, they told me that the Groupon could not cover what I wanted, because my hair was "too long". Apparently too long was considered it being half way down my back. The woman then said to me "I don't think you would be able to afford the cut and color". Now being a poc I was a little more offended because I wasn't sure if she was referring to me being brown was the reason I couldn't afford it or the fact that the cut would probably cost a little more. Either way, no cactus salons have gotten my money since and they never will. Too bad I can't put zero stars.â€

The place has very comfortable furniture and great movie quality however its very packed , unless you get a reservation, and the prices are quite high

I purchased a Groupon for a deep conditioning treatment and haircut last night. I called first thing this morning to see if they had anything available today or tomorrow, and the girl on the phone told me they had an opening at 1pm. I took it immediately! For my hair, I tend to stick to the same ol' boring thing, but I wanted to do something different this time. After being shampooed and given the conditioning treatment (I'm not sure if this was anything special or just conditioner they left on for a long time; either way, it made my hair soft), I was brought to Samantha's chair and asked if I needed anything. When Samantha came over, I told her that I'd kept my hair long for a while, and I wanted to chop most of it off. I showed her a picture and she told me what she'd need to do in order to achieve it. She asked if I was all right with it, gave me options, and got to work. After the cut, she did the blow-dry and then even curled it for me to show me how versatile the haircut was. It was perfect! I got so many compliments on the new hair, and Samantha was super sweet throughout our whole interaction. On top of it, I received a $25 gift certificate for next time - which means I'll definitely be coming back!

Yes! Offered a beverage when you go in, taken for my appointments on time or even early when I show up, clean chairs spaces and floor. I've been twice and both times have just loved the way my cut and blow out have looked. Two thumbs up.

I used the Groupon for this salon and it was definitely worth it. Everyone was extremely nice. Brittany took care of my cut and she's great! I've had such a hard time finding a stylist who doesn't cut my hair too short. I have really long hair and even though she took off my spit ends and added long layers she managed to keep the length. She was also very honest about dyeing and discussed the pros and cons. I'm thrilled I found a salon I can trust.

Every time I come into Cactus, I swear I'm only getting a haircut and then wind up re-doing my color, but how can I not?! Lauren is one of the best hair stylists I've ever had. Us girls are so picky and crazy about our hair looking a certain way, and she makes you look and feel awesome about it with out making you spend the big bux. Lauren also has great recommendations as far as haircare is concerned and which products and services are worth doing and which aren't necessary.
