I originally loved this place but after yesterday I will never be back and will recommend no one go there. I was singing their praises and now will never be back. My appointment was at 11:30. I arrived at 11:25 and called to let them know I knew I was early but checking in. They said they would get me in at my appointment time. Okay, cool. My cat doesn't travel well and they know that as I'd told them before but they hadn't given me any help with it. At 11:37 I called again to see if we could get her in as she was panting and even out of her carrier I couldn't calm her. I was told they were running behind and would get to me shortly. I waited until 11:45, when I called again and was greeted with an attitude upon telling them who I was. I explained I would like to reschedule as we had been waiting so long and my cat was not doing well. The vet, who shouldn't be answering phones or even dealing with people, had an attitude and told me they would get to me when they get to me and if I reschedule, I'd have to pay a cancelation fee. I told her that if I hadn't been waiting over 15 minutes I wouldn't be leaving and hung up. This is the email I got from them and proof of my call logs. Do not go to these people, the Dr is terrible. I was told by my vet tech professor to not go into this line of work if you don't like both people and animals. It's time to retire.

Dr. Motler is an amazing veterinarian. My husband and I are parents to a 3 year old French Bulldog. Scarlette is everything to us and about 6 weeks ago we brought her to PVAH after being sent to over 5 doctors around NY state with what we thought was allergies. Dr. Motler discovered it was lymphoma. As devastating the news, Dr. Motler went to work to come up with the best plan of action that is within our power to maintain a good life for our Scarlette. Dr. Motler and her staff welcome us with open arms with every visit and Scarlette is happy and as healthy as she can be. What we like about Dr. Motler is she is straight to the point, honest and gives us real expectations. Dr. Motler understands how our Scarlette is no different than any other family member and is as compassionate about taking care of our Scarlette as we are about the love we have for our little girl. We truly are thankful to have finally found a veterinarian that cares so much for animals and the needs of their families. We recommend anyone who needs a safe place to bring their pet go to Dr.Motler. No matter what is going on in your pets life you can be confident the above and beyond care that will go into your pet is unique, genuine and unmatched anywhere. Thank you Dr. Motler.

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital, and I feel compelled to share my experience to help other pet owners make informed decisions.
I scheduled an early morning appointment for my dog, who was showing signs of pain and dementia. However, 30 minutes before the appointment, the staff called to reschedule because Dr. Motler was called out on an emergency. While I understand emergencies happen, the lack of communication and clarity throughout the day was frustrating. I was asked to call back multiple times to check if the doctor had returned, only to be met with uncertainty each time. This lack of clarity led me to seek an emergency visit at another vet clinic.
To make matters worse, Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital charged me a $75 cancellation fee despite the fact that I had to reschedule multiple times due to their scheduling issues. I spent the entire day out of work trying to get my dog seen, only to end up paying a cancellation fee for an appointment that I couldn't attend due to their scheduling confusion.
Despite my numerous attempts to contest the fee and speak with Dr. Motler, I never received a call back. After two months of trying to resolve the issue, I finally paid the fee in person, just to put the matter to rest. However, the situation worsened when I requested my dog's records to be sent to the new vet. Even though I submitted the authorization in person, witnessed by the office manager, they claimed they never received my permission and refused to release the records.
This entire experience has been extremely stressful and frustrating. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism from Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital has left me disappointed and distrustful of their services. I hope this review helps others avoid a similar experience.

Worst service ever. They need to learn how to treat their customers the right way. Absolutely obnoxious front desk lady. Do not go here. Atleast be nice to people.

My husband just called and was inquiring about my dog who is really sick and may need to be put down and instead of the person who answered the phone being empathetic and understanding made my husband feel like the worst human in the world for even calling, as if we were a bother to her. Not understanding that this phone call is extremely difficult for us as she is OUR family. Needless to say we are exploring other options because of the lack of empathy.

I too was hit in the face with the cranky receptionist. Im sure Dr. Motler is much more kind and helpful, but why pay for someone who continues to drive business away and misrepresent what this office can do.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Motler who helped ease our little cat over the rainbow bridge today. In spite of her extremely busy schedule Dr. Motler had the compassion to help us at the end of a very long day.

These kind folkes took care of my cat when no one else would and they did not have to. They stayed late and did everything they could do to help. They were compassionate and kind during her passing. I cannot thank them enough.
