Recently bought a house in Pleasant Valley and needed propane only for a gas range. George came out and gave a quote for what we needed and a few days later he came out and installed the tank. He did a great job with the installation, gas line is tucked clean along the house. He also converted our stove and got everything up and running. He explained everything he did clearly, which gave my wife and I good peace of mind after having mostly electric stoves in the past. Thanks George and Crown Gas!

Apparently folks with poor experience are more prone to writing reviews. I had no intention and simply wandered upon this Yelp review while checking my account. I've had Crown since receiving a recommendation from the builder when we did our house in the Hudson Valley. To date the service has been pretty much top notch and invisible. I am on autopay (at least I think I am or they are far more benevolent that I can imagine) and they seem to keep the 1,000 gallon tank in great shape. The only experience I've had with the office is one day when I called to get some oil summaries to review for annual budgets . . . the folks could not have been more courtesy and helpful and they complied a summary in .pdf form and e-mailed it to me in minutes. Pretty much nothing but good to say about the company and their service.

I just moved here 2 months ago when i got a threatening phone call from the company (I guess the previous owners used them) saying they're going to remove my propane tank unless I reup with them immediately. I didn't know any better because it was literally only 2 weeks into me moving from California to New York. I said sure fill it up. Fast forward to today when I get a voicemail from Sheila with the biggest attitude saying I haven't paid my bill. I asked how they send me my bill and they said email. I checked and nothing. Sheila insists it should be in my junk folder. It's not. They had a different email on file for me. I said omg im so sorry is there a late fee? I honestly don't have an email. She goes "of course there's a late fee honey. You didn't pay it." I corrected the email so I got the invoice but there's no way to pay it on there. I've honestly never dealt with ruder women in my life. I'll be calling to tomorrow to see about ending my "contract" which I don't even have.

This company would probably be better if the people in the office spoke the truth. Spoke to Shelia who explained one thing only to speak to Peggy who has a very nasty way of speaking to people. This isn't a company I'd recommend at all. Take your business somewhere else. Give it to a company who will respect your business.

As a new home buyer that would have been looking for a propane company in the future I was happy to learn today to NEVER use this company. Not even one star is deserved. I understand 100% when a tank is rented and payment is not made the company has the right to retrieve the tank. HOWEVER, when someone such as myself buys a house and then almost 6 months later walks around the back of the house to see the propane tank is gone with no idea who took it and why it was taken is NOT OKAY. We thought someone stole the tank. Company had plenty of time to contact by sending notice in mail. We have been living at the new house for nearly SIX MONTHS. The least the company can do is leave a letter in the mailbox stating they came to retrieve it if need be so the homeowners don’t think someone stole it!

We've had problems with these people since we bought our house 5 years ago. First they wanted to take our tanks with the excuse of us being different owners, but mind you the tanks were full with propane that was already paid for. Then they kept sending drivers over to fill us up, when we had already asked them not to and the woman answering the phone was very rude. Finally, they stopped coming and only came when we called them. We asked for a delivery last Monday, when we asked when could they come the rude lady told us they don't know! Today a week later they pulled up our driveway (our tanks are on the other side of the house) when we noticed them, we opened the door and signaled for them to go to the other side, but the driver remained there. After a couple of minutes, when we were trying to get our coats on to go out, they drove off. We called the company and again this rude and unprofessional woman answered. When we explained what took place she said the driver left because we didn't leave a check on the tank, we were home and didn't know what would be the exact amount for the gas so why would we leave a check. Then when we asked if the driver could come back she rudely said, no he won't come back and that she didn't know when he will be back. She had no courtesy and didn't even try to accommodate a customer with at least some information and continued to be rude no matter what we asked. This company sucks and we will be looking for a better company, who can provide professional customer service.

During the recent power outage our propane tanks for our generator were starting to run low. I called Crown Energy Corp to see about getting the tanks topped off. I was so surprised that they were here the next morning. If you are looking for propane supplier I highly recommend Crown Energy Corp. they take care of their customers!

Absolutely horrible this company sent a driver out that banged on our door and was disrespectful to my wife to the point she was nervous, I then called and spoke to the owner he apologized 2 months later same driver comes to my house and blocks driveway when my wife asked him to move so she can park keep in mind has a 2 year old in the car he goes on to call her a bitc*. She then called the office just to be told she too sensitive and the owner was flat rude. I then called to inform him that no one will speak to my wife that way and if that driver come back I'll be calling the police. We will now contact the better business bureau and both the owner and the driver will not get away with disrespecting any more customers. The driver has the fishkill route he is not a person you want around your family.

After I paid a yearly fee I was never told about, Crown Energy went on my property without notifying me, and took a full tank away. The explanation was, "we weren't making any money from you." I gave them over a month to reimburse me. Since I paid a fee just a few months ago for them to "maintain" a tank, I expect that refund in the mail along with the reimbursement for the propane. It is true that I did not need the tank filled again because it was full, but they did make a few hundred off of me and could clearly have said they would like to pick up the tank for another customer and reimburse me for the propane and yearly fee, but that didn't happen. I have serious concerns for other customers who may have them come on your property and take a tank full of propane that you paid for. This is not how people should be running a business. I feel it is necessary to warn others. I will update this post if they actually do the right thing by me and my family.

Been a customer with Crown Gas for over 30 years. During that time I haven't been late with a single payment. Last week due to a $40.00 non - payment, they put a lock on my gas tank. I did fail to respond to them and let them know when payment was going to be made. For which, I do understand charging me a fee. Moving forward they were charging me a fee of $150 to come a remove the lock. I spoke to two representatives from their company and asked for some leniency and some flexibility regarding their $150 reconnection fee. I was willing to pay a $100 , but they weren't negotiable on the amount. I thought that I was entitled to some flexibility given my 30 year history with the company. Needless to say, they aren't my propane company any longer. Customer service is lacking .

I have used Crown Gas for 2 years without any issues. Last winter during a snowstorm, a Crown Gas delivery truck caused significant damage to my driveway and grass areas (3 estimates- $750-$1250) during a unnecessary and unsafe delivery. The truck delivery driver, I believe his name is Kenny left without informing me of the damage that he caused. I returned home after working 16 hrs and saw the damage to my private property. I immediately contacted Crown Gas in regards to the matter. I was informed by a Crown Gas representative that the damages caused by Crown Gas delivery truck will be repaired to its original condition this spring when the weather gets warmer. I contacted Crown Gas in mid-April 15 and was told that the owner is on vacation and that the damages will not be repaired by Crown Gas due to the unsafe driveway condition during the delivery. I asked why would Crown Gas make a delivery in an unsafe condition and then not be held legally liable for any damages which occur as a result of said delivery. I am still waiting on that answer. I switched over to Putman Propane, same product, same price, better reviews, more professional, and much better service. Why settle for Crown Gas when its competitors offer so much more. I obviously made a report with the Better Business Bureau and will be taking this matter to small claims court.

They've been fine as a fuel provider. Now their phone number is disconnected?! What is going on?
