I am not one to leave negative reviews, I understand every business/person has a bad day. Why I’ve gone back three times now is a mystery to me, but it is the last time. Their website has the capability to schedule online, yet if you actually use it, the shop will tell you nope, they’re too busy and can’t get you in. He says they don’t take his schedule into account but it seems like he isn’t using the proper scheduling service so that it can. Not to mention not one person there has an ounce of good customer service; they act like they have a hundred things better to do than assist you and if you try to actually talk to them about something they are extremely dismissive. I understand being busy, but part of the job is helping people with their vehicle needs/questions. After being told the appt I made online 2 weeks prior was no good, he said he could get me in Monday and I could drop it off Sunday. When I get there, there is no drop box and no designated area that says “leave keys here” and I wasn’t about to leave them in my car. So, I left my car and decided to bring my keys early Monday morning. When I came to pick it up, I get a ride “oh that was your car parked in the middle of my lot” - I was parked horizontally along the edge of the grass because there are no lines or parking indications anywhere in the parking lot. I don’t know how they’ve stayed in business this long because they’re just rude, dismissive, have horrible customer service skills and act like it’s YOUR fault you scheduled online and can’t get in because they’re “so busy.”

I went in to get my tire pressure checked, he looked at me and told me to go to a gas station. He said he’s not open yet (it was 7:41 AM). This is how you run a business? I should’ve looked at the reviews first.

Had an appointment for 3:30 on Thursday August 1. When I arrived I was told they couldn't do it until the following Friday!!!

I booked an appointment online and arrived to the appointment on time. The manager behind the counter was discussing with one of their patrons. That his customers had unrealistic expectations and everyone wanted everything done now. I began to become a little uncomfortable as he was specifically mentioning the service therefore. After the patron walked away I said hi I’m here for 930 appointment. He said oh yeah, along with my other 40 online appointment that we cannot do today. I said oh I’m sorry, Why does it let you book an appointment if you don’t have the capacity to do the work. The manager behind the counter, said it’s just me and another guy here and the website just says yes to everyone. So I’m thinking that the other 40 people will arrive today thinking they have appointments thinking their car will be fixed only to be turned away by a frustrated employee. I suggest either shutting down the website ability to book appointments or contact the potential customer and reschedule an appointment that works for you and your staff.

Zero stars!! Today I stopped by to schedule an inspection for my car, I had some problems during the inspection, the attendant who was working today serves the customers super badly, uneducated, arrogant, yelled at me in the middle of the customers left there devastated!! Super embarrassed, within 3 years living in the city of Plattsburgh I was never mistreated like I was today, with the lack of empathy with the customers!!!

Did an online appointment for a New York state inspection I gave me two options to either leave the vehicle at the shop for the day or to wait for the service to be completed. I chose for the service to be completed while I was there. I went in today for my appointment at 1:30 p.m. and the gentleman at the front desk stated that I would have to leave my car there for at least 4 hours for New York state inspections to be done and that the online appointment are not guaranteed and either way would have to leave my car there. If you're not going to use the online appointment accurately than what is the point of having people set up online appointments. The gentleman said that he gets over 350 New York state inspections per week and that he can't just squeeze somebody in. This is the whole point of having appointments to be made is so that way you can put people in. I have never had this issue at any other Monroe shops. And I can typically do an online appointment stay true to my appointment and stay there while my car is getting worked on. Pathetic of a shop in Plattsburgh. Not to mention the fact that the customer service is a joke as well.

We’ve brought cars to Monro for a long time. Chris is a rockstar -great service and a real pro. They know what they’re doing and they are trustworthy. Completely recommend.

0 Stars, I should have read the reviews first before even making a phone call to this god-forsaken auto shop. I am from out of town, will be here for a few days, but need some work done on the car. I set up an appointment online, and then, wanting to be a good customer, called to chat about what I needed before I took the car to them, to make sure I wasn't going to throw something into them that wasn't feasible for the time. The "gentleman" on the phone was dismissive from the start, immediately telling me that he hasn't even had the time to look through the other appointments. I explained that I understood and that's why I was calling. He reminded me 5 different times that he was soooo busy. After responding every single time with "I understand, I just want to chat through this really quick" he continued to be dismissive and act like my business/needs were unimportant.
In case you read this, front desk phone answerer, we all have jobs, and we are all busy, no need to tell the whole world. I never thought a 5 min phone call could be so frustrating.
Since I can’t reply, I’m adding an edit here. I should have included “owner, please do not respond with an insincere apology”, but I forgot and was too late. I’m thankful I can nominate you all the worst customer service I have experienced in the NE.

Beware of making appointments online at this location. I made an appointment yesterday for a NY state inspection today on their website. I picked the option of dropping off my car. It gave me the option to drop off in different time frames. I chose afternoon, which gave me the frame of 1-6 pm. I received a confirmation email directly after, which to me is usually the be-all end-all.After driving an hour and a half from VT today and arriving at about 3:30, we were told by the front desk employee (who by the way, is extremely rude and condescending) that we would’ve had to drop the car off before noon, and that his inspector had already left for the day. He also said he books inspections about 1-2 weeks out. The confirmation email I received said absolutely nothing about these details and when I had to drop off by, it just let me pick 1-6 pm timeframe. It is extremely unclear and frustrating. This disconnect between online booking and the schedule they go by is the reason why all the 1 star ratings on here are in regards to scheduling that way.To this business- please, please just get rid of the online booking feature if you won’t stay true to it. It’s just useless at that point. Just have phone booking. If you intend to keep it, PLEASE make instructions like when we need to drop off by and what exact day we should be there more clear in the confirmation email. We ended up spending the gas money, ferry money, and dog sitting money for nothing today as I was under the impression my car was sure to be inspected. We scrambled to see if any other auto shops that did inspections were open today, but since it’s the weekend none were open.This service was ultimately extremely disappointing and terrible customer service. I understand one offs in making mistakes and then making things right with customers, but this seems to be a repeated problem based on other reviews I’ve read.

The Monro in Plattsburgh, NY on Smithfield was unable to balance my tires. Smells like they smoked in the truck as well. I usually don't leave a bad reviews but my coworkers warned me and I just went with them anyway. Going to Monro in Saranac Lake tomorrow to see if that store can correct the balance of my new tires

DON’T MAKE APPTS ONLINE! CALL THEM TO BOOK! They don’t abide by them. Drove over two hours for an appt I made through their site. Only one tech and he explained he doesn’t abide by them. Waste of time, gas, and resources for a failed system.

This place is horrible, don’t respect your appointments, made me waste my time twice. Very rude people as well. Better to drive all the way to VIP tires in Vermont. Done! Will never go back to this place.
