The first thing I want to say about this location is that the front desk staff was very insensitive and unprofessional. I rushed my very sick dog at around 12am to this location. Upon my arrival, there was a female at the front desk who once I spoke to and addressed what was going on, stated first and foremost, that it was not going to be cheap and if were expecting cheap this place was not it. My dog is literally dying in my arms with his eyes rolling back and body immobile at this point and this is what she says to us. No type of empathy or consideration for us or our fur baby. Was ready to turn us away if we didn’t have the money. We agreed to a consult and a male came to the front and took our dog to the back. We then proceeded to meet with what seemed a new grad vet who had no idea what caused him to get sick so quick. When we stated we were going to take him home and would like him back, rather then bringing him to us brought in another vet that tried to convince us to do a round of tests that we had already done literally the day before. At this point we’re trying to save our baby not discuss money and what they may or may not think is causing him to be sick. We stated we were going to take him home and they still took about 20 mins to bring him back to us. They went ahead and stuck him with a needle without checking to see if we wanted services and claimed that it took 30 mins to pull a needle out. I’m a medical provider myself and found this whole thing highly insensitive and disappointing. I don’t know how they are considered #1 in Long Island. Needless to say, our dog passed away that very night. Unless you have money, and I mean like 7000+ to spend just to admit your dog without any form of treatment don’t bother going there cus they will not respect or treat you with any type of professional care.

Dr. Sapienza is the quintessential professional in ophthalmology! Our dog, Lexi, has experienced a remarkable improvement in her vision after cataract surgery!

I recently had an experience with Long Island Veterinary Specialists and I couldn't be more pleased with the care provided to my dog. The staff was incredibly attentive and understanding of my needs, ensuring I was well-informed throughout the process. The surgeons demonstrated exceptional skill and expertise, and it was evident that they treated my dog with extra love and care. Overall, the team at Long Island Veterinary Specialists went above and beyond to provide outstanding service, making a very stressful experience much more comfortable.

My dog got injured I went 2 different vets she got 2 different tests done, meds etc I was recommended to see a specialist I came here because of the reviews I had a really good experience at the clinic the doctor was very thorough and asked 2 different surgeons on staff for their opinions on my dogs diagnosis he told me without any additional test what was wrong with her. And I had a second opinion w another specialist after this appointment and the doctor from livs in Plainview was on point. I would recommend anyone to this hospital and ps they got me in on the same day there was a cancellation so I was very happy about that too.

Dr. Loughen and staff were very kind and patient with our girl Harly. She was very thorough in explaining Harly’s condition and what procedure would work best for her at her age. She gave us a full breakdown of the costs that would be involved. The wait time was short, office was very clean, and again, the office staff was very good with our Harly and kind and helpful to us!

Very cold staff, will make you wait forever without any explanation and you are the only visitor at the tim, no satisfactory answers to your inquiries, felt like the vet has no experience and doesn’t know what the problem is or what are the right steps need to be taken for proper diagnoses/treatment. When inquired about long wait the staff responded rudely and arrogantly. Would never go back or recommend to any one. They have no respect for your time or proper experience to handle different cases.
