We purchased a pup 4 yrs ago from Liz and jack.. we picked a girl named Penny when we left with her we stopped at tractor supply for puppy food...well we had her in the shopping cart and as soon as we left the store she jumped out and ran.( pup was 6 months old). Dobie mix. We ran after her but never caught her. We called Liz and her and her family all rushed down to help. After a few days thank God Penny came out for Liz. This was a very scary time as tractor supply is off of main rd. Okay Long story short we ended up taking her sister..penny made it crystal clear she was staying with Jack and Liz. We were very blessed that Penny was found unharmed. To this day we still keep in touch with Liz... and when I see Penny I say do you remember me.

If i could give zero stars I would. Alleged deworming and vaccinations, yet my dog had fleas and tapeworms & needed an emergency vet visit the morning after I got him. Lied about the age and neutering him, another cost to me. This place is unsafe and should be out of business

I wish I could give zero stars!!!! We adopted a dog in September from this “rescue”. They knew our dog was sick but failed to tell us until we found out from our vet, our dog had Parvo 24 hours after owning him. We later found out they knew other dogs in the same liter were sick and some even died and yet again they failed to tell us. When we told them our dog was in the animal hospital, they could careless and offered us our adoption fee back, great $450.00 back… but our vet bills were over $7,000.00. Our vet also told us that parvo can live on surfaces for over a year even if properly sanitized, we week after our puppies liter was gone, Hollywood got new unvaccinated puppies?! Not very responsible and I’m sure they failed to tell the adopters. To me they are far from a rescue.. they are putting puppies lives at risk and some even lost their lives…. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE! After all this I’ve learned they had this reputation but changed their rescues name. Ridiculous!! I do not recommend HOLLYWOOD “rescue”.

Kind folks who care for dogs and help them get adopted. We got a lovely puppy from here, it was great meeting the mama and seeing her many siblings. It was nice to meet her mom because we saw all the sweet qualities she had which gave us a clue about the family personality. Our puppy is healthy and happy, also gorgeous and well socialized! We are so glad we went with this rescue.

My puppy could have died because this "rescue" lied to me repeatedly. The puppy broke her leg the day I went to adopt her and had to go to the vet the next day, so I had to come back later the next day to get her. I asked Liz where the break was, and she said she didn't know and their vet wouldn't give her the x-rays, which seemed odd, but some people are too ignorant to know they have a right to the x-rays. She also said the wrap on the leg needed to be on for 5 weeks, but it was OK if it came off: also odd. They never mentioned a word about the coins in her stomach. I took the puppy and called my vet who wanted to see the x-rays and have a copy of the office visit for the broken bone. Liz would not tell me the name of their vet but said she would call them and have the x-rays sent to my vet with the information I gave her. I was really flummoxed as to why she wouldn't tell me the name of the vet, and since my vet received nothing, I started calling the 5 vets I found online in their area. On the fifth -- and also wrong one -- the receptionist gave me the name and number of a 6th vet that turned out to be the right one, and they told me they had not been contacted by Hollywood "Rescue" and that the puppy was still listed as theirs, so they couldn't release the information without Hollywood's permission. Meanwhile, the day of my vet appointment came, and my vet called Hollywood and after lying to her about their "confusion" about what I wanted, they gave her the necessary information for getting the x-rays, so we finally found out what they were hiding: The puppy had swallowed coins, which were being attacked by her stomach acid, which would cause metal poisoning that could kill her. My vet recommended immediate removal of them, but vets are in short supply and no local ones had an appointment for over a month. That meant I would have to go to an emergency vet, which would cost twice as much. My vet has a friend who is a vet an hour and a half from where I live, and that vet was willing to remove the coins that turned out to be 5 quarters. He was able to avoid surgery with an endoscopy procedure, which took hours to do, was successful, and cost over $1800. I had to take an entire day off work, but I took her to that vet and hung around an unfamiliar town for 5 hours that saved Hollywood thousands of dollars, and they were too stupid to look at the invoice I sent and see that it was paid, so they emailed me and asked if they should pay the vet. I told them that I had paid it and gave them my address to send it to me. It never arrived, and they have told me they sent it to the vet: another lie. To date, vet care for the coins and the break have totaled about $4,000., and my puppy has not had a normal ability to act like a puppy because for weeks she was mostly lethargic, probably due to poisoning from the quarters, and I couldn't let her run around because it would interfere with her leg healing. I have to go to the county where they live to file with small claims, but that is happening soon.

Liz and Hollywood dog rescue save many animals. If the dog becomes ill after adoption they take care of it. They would never adopt sick puppy if they were aware of a sickness.
