People were very nice. Rooms very small and rustic, but clean. Luckily they had a generator when the town lost electricity.

What a sweet little lodge close to everything in phonecia! The continental breakfast was a lovely touch, our suite 13 was perfect for us. Had everything we needed. Jennifer and Maureen are such kind hosts. Loved this getaway for my husband and I. Definitely recommend!!

I've camped in Phoenicia before but this time I came in for a wedding so we decided to get a room. I am so disappointed we booked this place. The rooms are a minor upgrade from a buggy tent. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, there's awful water pressure and the entire property is sandwiched between main roads. It's not relaxing in the slightest. On top of that, they charged me $50 for both of my dogs and asked me to use a different blanket (one that they supplied) for my dogs. They charged me another $50 after I checked out because they said there was shedding on the blanket they gave me for my dogs. Overall I was charged $100 because I have dogs at a hotel they say is "dog friendly" Bottom line, don't stay here, there's better hotels in the area in better locations that won't nickle and dime you.
Rooms: Shabby and unwelcoming

From the metro Detroit area and our family frequently goes on up north trips in Michigan; if you're from Michigan or Chicago area you know what I'm referring to. We have heard of the Catskills area for years and this year for spring break we finally made the trip. We stayed at the very conveniently located Phoenicia Lodge in Phoenicia NY. Just 2 hours north oh Manhattan and only minutes way from Woodstock and Hudson (both cute downtown cities). We (my family of 6) stayed in cottage 12 and had a very pleasant stay. The cottage and the grounds are so cute and so well maintained with a 1950s cabin feel; almost Twin Peaks'ish if you know what I mean. Jen and Maureen are excellent hosts and every morning there is GOOD fresh coffee and freshly baked Muffin bread to go along with their continental breakfast in the Lodge, and I should say they are a lot of fun to talk to as well. As you can tell we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back to check out the Catskills in the summer. Thank you. Jason K.

Well priced, great location and very dog friendly! Loved being so close to skiing at Belleayre, hiking trails and great restaurants.

My partner and I stayed at Phoenicia Lodge over a long weekend in January and can’t say enough nice things! Jennifer and Maureen are wonderful, kind people and we enjoyed seeing them every day at breakfast. The room itself was sparkling clean and equipped with toiletries, a mini fridge, and a DVD player, which we used every night thanks to the Lodge’s expansive collection. A continental breakfast is available every morning (coffee, yogurt, bagels, pastries, juice, etc.) and was perfect fuel for our morning adventures on the trail. There are many nearby options available for food. Phoenicia Diner, Brio’s, Woodstock Brewing and several other dining options are only a 5 minute drive away. We spent one of our days snow tubing at Hunter Mountain (20 min drive), another hiking Kaaterskill Falls (25 min drive) with a visit to Van Winkle brewery after (35 min drive). Our last day we spent visiting the massive antique store right in town (5 min drive) and took a long walk along the Ashokan Rail Trail (10 min drive). Phoenicia Lodge was the perfect central location for us and we couldn’t have been happier. We will be back and would recommend anyone visiting the Catskills to stay here!

Highly recommend Phoenicia Lodge. The rooms are nice and charming, and the location is superb. Most importantly, when the owners learned that I didn’t have a car and couldn’t reserve a taxi to get to a nearby trailhead, they kindly offered me a ride in their car and even provided spikes for ice walking because I had forgotten mine at home. I wouldn't have made it to Slide Mountain on time in late December without their help. Thank you!!

After staying at another motel in Fleischmann for the last twenty years... I tried the Phoenicia lodge. Definitely a step up. Clean and friendly. Their Continental breakfast is above reproach. Every day they make a fresh new breakfast pastry today's is chocolate chip, pumpkin and it was delicious highly recommended especially if you have a pet.

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at this idyllic, rustic setting located in the Catskill mountains. Jennifer and Maureen are super friendly. My room was clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the breakfast (and all of the conversations in the breakfast nook!). The other guests were very cool as well. The whole atmosphere was a chill vibe. Do not miss out on a walk to the Espopus Creek, a mere 200 yards from the Lodge... it is breathtaking! Last, I was up there for a creative endeavor. Jennifer and Maureen were very supportive and encouraging when I shared that with them. I really appreciated that.

In a nutshell : we found "our place" in The Catskills. My boyfriend and I loved the owners Jennifer and Maureen (and George and June the doggy greeting committee) who were all very welcoming and accommodating. They always have something freshly baked either for arrival or check in. Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and there is a lot of attention to detail to make you feel comfortable. Great location as you're very close to trails, Main Street Phoenicia and not a far drive from Woodstock. I'm so glad we found this place. It's a rare experience to stay somewhere and to feel right at home the minute you check in.

Stayed here with 15 friends during the past three nights. We essentially had every room and cabin. It's a rustic establishment out of the 50' and 60's. Reminded me of my youth. It's very clean. The beds and linen are quite comfortable. We had a blast. Jen and Maureen are wonderful hosts. The cookies are amazing. It's not a five star resort but it's a cozy friendly place which is better. Will be back.

Stayed at Phoenicia Lodge for the 1st time in July. I really enjoyed my stay. The bed sheets, pillows and bed were extremely comfortable. I have never slept in soft sheets in any hotel as I did at the Lodge. The ladies were friendly and their morning baked goods were delicious. I am planning a trip back in the fall and will definitely be staying at Phoenicia.

The staff is so kind and helpful! I took my fiancé up here for her birthday and it was a blast! The fire pit is highly recommended by me as it was the perfect end to the perfect weekend. The playhouse (theater) was preforming “the Addams Family” and it exceeded our expectations far and away. We went on a mushroom tour with the catskill fungi club which was also an amazing experience. John and everyone there were the perfect first time fungi hosts and we will be returning. I couldn’t say one bad thing about the lodge. It’s right in the middle of rented cabin and hotel resort that any type of visitor could appreciate the small town vibes.Rooms: Very cute and cozy!Nearby activities: Railway tours, local plays, mushroom hikes, farmers market, fishing, antiques, skiing, rock climbing, parades, breweries, bike rides, and so much more!Safety: Very safe and quite town where everyone looks out for one anotherWalkability: 10 minute walk into town, very beautiful walk with the esopus river right by your sideFood & drinks: The comp breakfast is “continental” at best but I recommend grabbing some coffee and heading out to one of the amazing restaurants.Noteworthy details: Everyone I met staff/residents were incredibly kind and welcoming. Starting a fire out back and enjoying it on the nearby hammocks is a must!

Bed way too spongy, water pressure lowish. Wifi very spotty. All else perfect!
