Great for a blow out, but very bad at cutting hair. I told them to only cut the bleach at the ned of my hair but they cut 2 inches above the bleach. I had long hair that went down my back and now I have a bob. The ends were so badly cut and they are so poofy and they have never been like that. Go for a good blow dry, but do not get your hair cut.

Rafaelina should retire… no skills just a plain blow dry. Wants to sell you expensive products that you can find on amazon for cheaper. Every time I call to make an appointment she wants to tell you what time works for her. Very controlling with what goes on in the hair salon don't know how her daughter deals with her. Last time I went for a wash and set when I got home my husband couldn't believe i had done my hair with a professional. Then she tells me oh you have a lot of hair and makes a suggestion to put relaxer on my hair to make her work less.
She also refused to cut my ends and it looked like a freaking raccoons tail.

Amazing service very professional my hair has come a long way with the reconstruction treatment that Rafaelina used on my hair after years of heat/relaxer/extension damage I love the results. the prices are very reasonable I usually go on the weekends and I love that they stick to the scheduled appointments I highly recommend this business and look forward to my continued hair treatments!!

I'd been having some serious "hair woes" when I began making bi-weekly appointments at Rafaelina's but hair breakage has NEVER been one of them. In January of 2023 I scheduled a chemical process during which a rat tail hair comb, rather than an applicator brush, was used to apply the product - I mean, she actually combed the product from the roots. I demanded that she stop but of course it was too late for that area of my hair. Nevertheless, I continued with bi-weekly appointments but when it was time for another chemical process I explained - at length - how the the product must be applied to my hair. This time the owner decided to do my hair and as she was assessing it she expressed alarm about the extent of brakeage in one area. When I advised her that the damaged area was the result of my last chemical process at her shop she told me - an educated, professional woman of integrity - that I came to her shop "that way".What makes this so disappointing for me is that I was willing to go through the trial and error at my own expense because of the results of their patrons. I can not deny that all of the customers I saw had beautiful, healthy hair, so I thought that in time even though I am African American and not Latinx they would be willing to figure out what works for my hair because I was willing to show up consistently. Sadly, I started to feel like an inconvenience when I showed up for my bi-weekly appointments so I moved on.

I was able to make a same day appointment and was happy to get my hair done. Until I walked in with my 2 well behaved daughters (ages 8 & 4) and was turned away at the door. Was told no children allowed.

Came in to ask to get hair color tone since it’s dull color, they said if you initially did not color hair there, “we don’t work on other hair salons done color” lol

I was very happy to find a Dominican Salon, near my house. It was my first time at Rafelina’s Beauty, it is a very clean place, they attend to me right away, I love that is by appointment so you won't be waiting for a long time, the ladies were all very attentive, asking me if everything was ok. Rachel a very nice young lady did my hair, at first I was shocked she was blow drying my hair since she looks so young. But she did an amazing job, I am very happy and satisfied with her work and the attention of the other ladies. I recommend this place to anyone and will be going back again very soon. Thanks, ladies for your services.
